I visited Sweden some months ago and in my experience they are kind and gentle, men are gentlemen and everybody is always willing to help you when they notice that you are a tourist, and I had been told they were very cold; not at all…and I am from a Latin American country.

As for millions of American speak funny because of their heritage, that is how a lot of my family speak. XD In North Dakota, Minnesota and close to Canada, there is a lot of Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish descendants. Many don¨t speak anything other than English, but we do sound like that.

Here in Sweden I have light brown hair, but if I go to the "south": spain/italy/south france and so on Im suddenly a blond. =) Blond hair in warmer countries and here I have light brown hair. But maybe that's because what you consider as blond we consider as maybe lighter brown sometimes, because we have more blondes here and you have more dark haired people. That's my theory.

I'm actually learning Swedish, but I'm not proficient enough yet to understand what some of the comments were below me.
This is not how Americans view the Swedish, though. If this was a joke, it was really funny, If not, then I'd quit generalizing a country like America who is a world away from Sweden.
Most Americans don't even have an opinion of Sweden in the first place either because 1) they don't care enough to or 2) they don't care enough to.

we don't believe that you view us like this, though some of the points are close to the truth. The only compleatly true point is the one about odd and disturbing movies.
Have you seen "men who hates women"? that movie was odd and disturbing to say the least.

@tiedtosilence Now, i have to drop as stereotype myself, which incidentally happens to be true. About 90% percent of the Americans i met while over there had no clue at all where Sweden even is to begin with. One can imagine what that would say about Americans.
BTW i ain't dissin' nobody here, i'm just letting the people know that: Don't worry bout America stereotyping Sweden n' shit u know. Cuz i guarantee u that a whole lot more people from all over the world is stereotyping America.

Nej, visst , siffrorna 12 och 14,15 är har inte långt ifrån varandra, men de är en helt annan sak när de hanlar om en 12årig tjej som troligtvis blir utnyttjad av nån äcklig finnig 17åring utan att ens förstå poängen med det. En ett par år äldre tjej har iallafall blivigt undervisad om det i skolan, vet om riskerna och konserkvenserna och har en betydligt mindre risk för att bli utnyttjad eftersom att dom är mer självständiga och har lärt sig mer om ansvar osv.

Last time I had a conversation about Swedes with an American I got these questions: "Is it true that most girls in Sweden lose their virginity when they're 12 yrs old?" and "Is it true that all girls in Sweden are blond?"...no, and no haha. For your information there are just as many brunettes as there are blonds... more or less.

this stereotype thing is true to a certain level in all people aoround the world, and that we are blond and have blue eyes was real for maybe 100 years ago because we had not any immegrants here back then so we wasnt mixed. but that our wimmens are dumb are really true:P and that we make disturbing movies, like this one:)
