movies have really changed since i last watched this..... seems every movie i seen when i was a kid has an amazing song that everyone could relate too.......not anymore though....how sad R.I.P
This is what I love about classic Disney movies. When you were little, you didn't think too much about the deeper meanings behind these songs, but 10+ years later you go back and realize the values they talk about were instilled in you back then, albeit subtly, and had a part in making you the person you are today.
so many years have passed since i last heard this song as a child and i still remember it verbatim. i sang this song more than i did songs from other disney films. and trust me, watching disney films as a child WAS my life.
I'm like half-persian and you know what? For a long time, people have mistaken people like me for terrorists. Well, some of us Christians mistaken that we aren't Christians and are Muslim. But at my Christian church, we sing hymns with so much passion we are reduced to tears in the end; we worship our own God the same way we do. Our food and culture(even though I my family doesn't practice most of it) is also exemplary if people gave a chance. Not all of us are evil.
I am exactly 1/8 american Indian, and when I listen to this song, I feel all my ancestors of my past that we're native American coursing through my body, and a very magical feeling comes over me. This song is so beautiful
When I always look at Pocahontas (girl in my class with the same name) i think of this song. I asked her if she ever heard a wolf cry to a blue corn moon, she replied, "blue corn?"
i'd say fuck suite life and that whore hannah montana this is what real disney magic is! not shitfaced tween celebrities who have to have lip synch just to sing like hannah montana and rediculous sitcoms that say ''im richer and more imortant then everyone'' like suite life does
@amazinchiik no technically you spelled colours wrong. Its spelled differently in different places but I would assume that the British, of all people, would know how to correctly spell words in the english language.
@amazinchiik It's actually the right way. XD I believe that's just how everyone ELSE spells it. Americans spell it Colors and Europe and elsewhere spells it Colours. <3
Why can't we get all the adults and leaders of the world to sit together for an hour and listen to these disney songs. These movies have the greatest messages that no one pays attention to anymore.
It's not a bad thing to have an imagination and watch this movie without hyper analyzing it. Kids only get to be kids for so long; and teaching them racial understanding rather than the sad truth doesn't hurt either. Maybe kids learn a lesson from a movie like this... not a historical lesson but one about being a better person. In nature Simba would kill all his friends, but I can stretch my imagination and still enjoy The Lion King. Lighten up guys.
@yaysonic Actually, Simba only had a few friends that he would eat, and they basically raised him. Lion cubs who are raised by people wouldn't eat them either. So that's not as big of a stretch as you'd think. Remember a tiger once adopted piglets. This however historically inaccurate, does show a good sense of the interactions of the English and Native Americans. Honestly the only major inaccuracy is Pocahontas's age and romantic attachment to John. She did save his life from execution.
@chumon1992 omg Actually, you grasp no concept of my point. And actually, I don't care how much you know about history, animals, or the like. Please be a know it all elsewhere.
@yaysonic Wow way to completely over react. I got your point. I was commenting on what else you said, and by the way I wasn't trying to say you were wrong or stupid. I was merely pointing out that Disney movies aren't as inaccurate as some think. So if you wanna whine about me being a "know it all" you can. But I bare no ill will toward you and never meant anything against you at all.
@DDDB13 she was I think anywhere between 9 and 12. She was not romantically involved with him. She did however save his life in the same way she did in the movie. Historically she married John Rolf like in the sequel.
i never thought about how i see the world before. I mean it's not hard to see that everything around is as alive as us. So it's only right to respect it as we would respect another human being, even respect it more because of how much older things( like trees) are then us it sounds stupid but it's what i believe and i kinda get the impression it's what pocahontas believes too. @tootjee funnily both Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas) and Lea Solonga were both on Broadway in Les Mis. And they switched playing Cosette and Eponine! :D

It's Judy Kuhn. Her voice is actually brilliant, as is Lea Salonga's. :D
