Someone said J.Loussier was a molestor of Bachs music but for my opinion he only proves that without Bach there would be neither european jazz nor modern rock music.
I remember being at 6th form college in the ealy 1970s and going into the empty room every lunchtime which had a grand piano and teaching myself to play this bar by bar each week for the whole 2 years... and a tecaher walked in on me and congratulated me... but at the time there was guiy in the year azboe who looked like Rick Wakeman and would play the grand piano in the main hall and play tubular bells all the way through.... I was in awe... now? well......
What a stuffup of a great piece of music. Why does this bloke think his improvisation improves on Bach. I bet Johan Sebastion would not give him a jo and perhaps kill him!
..please..Bach himself was A MASTER OF IMPROVISATION, why would he have disagreed with this? It´s sad how most classical musicians of today are to stiff to even try to improvise, it´s really sad to see how stiff and snobby people interpret classical music like their lives depended on if you play that note EXACTLY the way it´s written. Hardly anyone improvises the cadenza anymore, and many teachers does´nt have a clue on how to teach basic improvisation. A sad fact indeed..
Rushing in where angels fear to tread, it's SO nice to hear one of the one in a thousand jazz reworkings that actually work....and work WONDERFULLY.....
Wow, an old registrationfrom TV, but is wonderful what I see here> I appreciate his work's and any stuff's they do.Now you van listinig and learn from this musician's I think, cause' it's unique in own way, I just wonder about this great instrument's conversation, if I can say it.....Thank you my friend for upload this great music........5*
whenever i feel sad i just want to listen to this piece and whenever i listen to it with this trio i feel like the music heal and hug me so deeply. I really love this perform... Thank you ...
