  • Seen THIS happen in MARION ILL it was WHEN UP was redoing RAILs in MARION ILL on MARION SUB & LOVED seeing it ! LOVED it a lot . Scanner man

  • What happened to old ballast? Do they got crashed as trains went by or are they scooped up after a few year and reused or sold after washing?

  • I saw an NS train doing this back in the 90s. I like to watch M of W trains working as it gives you a perspective of how the railroad works. Looks like we're at South Lebanon Junction where the LB splits off. That line used to go to Sinks and on to Corbin, KY and was the first L&N line to have CTC installed.

  • Lol I'd be pissed to have to wait at those gates for this train that goes creeping by at 1mph

  • @DVeck89 I knew he was creeping along. He was actively dumping ballast until he got to the crossing.

  • shame someone broke the window

  • You americans certainly like using your horns!! noisy bastards!

  • @discocreator76 Better than the beeps European trains use

  • @killallianceftw Yes, there;s no doubt that triple tone sounds more appealing, but why blow it countinuously, pissing off all the surrounding neighbourhood...

  • NICE CABOOSE!

  • I like the empty ingot RJ Corman train in the shot too!

  • Great video! I've caught the train on film before, but never in action! And the caboose is just a bonus!

  • Nice catch. I hope to see one of these some time!

  • Didn't know that.

  • so after they dump this stuff how is it doing any good if its resting on top of where the weight is being placed or do they have something to place it where its needed

  • Someone explain the meaning of the bell , i have lived near a CSX track all my life and never knew

  • thats awsome 5*****

  • who controls the lever to release the ballast

  • It's controlled by GPS to get an even flow. You can see this when the first car shoot closes and continues where it left off by the second car.

  • I saw that at Johnstown Pa but he was going alot faster and

  • Amazing video

  • ahh ok thanks.

  • that was aweome! I wonder how they do that? I caught a NS herzog train doing this too. nice video!

  • They do that with radio controlled cars.

They were walking along on the other side of the train.

The ABCD on the sides of cars denotes the door to open.

The car number is keyed into the radio and each car has its own frequency.

The operator can unload each door inside the rail, outside the rail or both by choosing appropriately on the radio unit.

If you think this is something, you should see the GPS rock train.
