  • People truly need to stop putting macs down because I like macs but I love my PC's. Macs are excellent for businesses and programming for games websites and other cool stuff. PC's are excellent at these things as well its all about perspective.

  • who the fuck would change from a pc to a crap....? oh sorry i mean a mac

  • its so different then my old pc...

  • fuck mac

  • Christ! for someone who is supposedly showing people how to use a mac your bloody terrible!

Too small a window couldn't even show the example you were trying bloody hell this was a waste of life i won't get back!

  • oh no shit? just drag it into the application folder? the hell man? you didnt need to drag anything into folders on windows? >.> dumbass

  • fix your computer now!!! 8a416gfavl3hlq09qrjkhv27y7()hop()clickbank()net/

  • Hey Daniel, Thanks for the great tips. I'm a PC person...but after viewing this, MAC is looking really good!

  • Hey, I'm about to buy a new Mac (1st Mac Ever) and do I have to buy a new Mac Airport Express, or can I use my old modem and DSL, because I really don't want to waste money, thanks. (By the way, does every NEW Mac come with Snow Leopard?

  • Doesn't he sound like Anthony from Smosh?

  • Thanks a bunch Daniel, finally decided to lose the PC and get with Mac. Got tired of the viruses, slow shut downs and slow start ups. this is my first week with the mac and it feels like i'm crawling around in the dark. This video helps immensely, keep em coming.

  • @david6801 lol camera....

  • Macs are PC's too.

  • Anyone need help with anything on mac send me a message and i will make a tutorial for you.

  • @SuperAppleTips why cant i fully open some application windows even after pressing the enlarge key

  • @piper1233 On a Mac, the enlarge key resizes the window, so that all the contents fit in the window. For example: You are on Apple's webpage, your window is small. You click the enlarge button, and you see the whole webpage. Hope i helped!

  • lol wtf.......

  • @musicgirl20 mac

  • Wow. Your tutorial is ridiculously inaccurate and erroneous. I don't even know where to begin. Pretty much every sentence you say has something wrong about it.

Nobody should use this video as any kind of tutorial!

  • whats that big yellow thing?

  • Great introduction to the Mac UI

  • Tania! This explains better than I ever could how to use a Mac!

    ~Phil

  • @musicgirl20 microsoft, cause it has way more functions, programs, and games for it

  • That was REALLY helpful. Thanks for taking the time to help us new converts!

  • Thank you

  • @NJ1988 u idiot! how could you say that! dumbass.

  • Good instructions but the video sucks! Please do it over without moving the camera!

  • you had lots of fails made in this video!

  • Thanks, but the camera motion is about nerve racking. For your next video, it might be good just to show us the screen maybe and then zoom in when needed as opposed to all that motion. It about made me sick. Had to take a break about half way through. LOL. But thanks. Very helpful.

  • Thanks for the help! This is defintaly the most informative pc to mac video I have seen so far!

  • can you use Parallels Desktop to use visual studio for university and stuff like that, and be able to hand the files up? cuz i'm thinking of getting a mac but i need to use visual studio for a uni course that i want to do

  • Yes you can. Run WindowsXP Pro/Home or Vista in BootCamp or in Parallels/VMWare in simultaneously to the OS X environment.

  • how do u get aplications?

  • What video recording do u use?

  • Um... I don't get why he's all worked up about applications not being full screen.

I mean, you can do that one a PC too... like... I watch dvds while I type on Word.

    Im confused.

  • you do¿ WTF!

  • Yeah... lol

  • Minimize! :D

  • first of all this was the best tutorial i have ever seen i want a mac!! if you want IE in a mac just download IE mac version!! i would never get used to only one mouse button did you know that your last name means hate in Spanish?? finder is just like windows explorer like when you open a folder in windows it opens in explorer the apple logo is like the start button in windows and the system preferences is like control panel in windows!!!

  • they don't make IE for mac anymore, nobody used it. It was a pretty lame app.

  • yeah IE is pretty lame i use google chrome!!

  • quick question:

what is the mac equivalent to ctrl atl delete?

lol, I'm so reluctant to change...

  • Apple-option-escape

Don't be afraid of the Mac. The Mac is good.

  • so very true!!!

  • I just got my mac today.. and I made it so that my dock is hidden so that I can have a full maximized window when I'm using a browser. I have the same problem with half sized windows as you.. ha

  • I like Apple computers but they are not designed for gamers and thats something I like to do, so in that regard I'll stick with a PC.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats what parallels is for, once you buy a mac, you dont need a pc anymore, macs are nicer, the OS "looks" nicer and prallels helps you emulate windows wich will allow you to play all the pc games you like with no problems whatsoever...well, other than a little lagg

  • I can't watch this with allt he moving around.

  • can u have icons on the descktop besides the dock? i plan on getting my first mac soon ^_^

  • yeah, you can link to apps with an alias, which is the same as program shortcuts on windows

  • Excellent. Thanks Daniel.

About the right-click: what about opening a new tab in browser-window - I use that all the time....

  • thanks drodio!

  • You mention "Apple-tab" several times....what/where is it?

Thanks for the video, I have had some troube adjusting.

    Mare

  • Nice video - what screen recorder is this?

  • nice wallpaper can u send me a link or something

  • Great tutorial but why you couldnt make it full size is beyond me, the scrolling around is nauseating

  • i am getting a mac 4 Xmas

  • i got a dell, and im looking to get a mac. I go to college, what happens with WORD documents, are there problems transfering them to a mac? or will they work at all? same thing with exel, access, etc...

im just conserned ill have problems working between mac and the PCs at the college.

  • you can install windows on mac or use microsoft office

  • Your mac will work with word doc. you can install windows office for a mac on your computer or do what i do and run apples iWork which can read and export to word excel powerpoint too. Even the simple text edit (kind of like word pad in windows) can even read simple word documents and text edit comes with the mac. iWork is $80 and cheaper then Office and does more then it. Don't worry a mac will work great with Windows computers if not better.

  • thank you for the tutirual

  • well my dell does the same thing i noe wat u mean

  • Wait I don't understand... is he suggesting that you can't resize windows in Windows? Because you can, so that kinda confused me when he said he was impressed that you can run an application without it having to be full screen. Maybe he didn't use Windows for very long because that's a pretty basic feature.

There are also applications like quicksilver for windows, like Launchy or Google Desktop.

You can also preview documents in Vista, but it's not enabled by default. Stole from Windows, lol.

  • you can download internet explorer for the mac if you type it into google it will bring you to the official website just like downloading firefox on a pc or mac and it is the latest version rather than the one which you were using

  • Internet Explore for Mac, is pretty old.

    It's the IE5. :o

    Not IE6 or IE7 but IE5...

And ti should be called IEVirus. :p

  • why would people want internet explorer its the worst browser

  • thats ur opinion Ie is gud u just hate windows so say that evrything about them is crap!

  • Personally, I think linux is better. But Mac is much better than vista.

  • beter than vista in 3d but not in memory right?

  • Watch My Tutorials! They May Help You!

  • your comments on the dock were wrong. On the right are stack and any applications you have minimized. on the right are all your applications. any applicaion with a light under the icon means that it is open. When you closed it you hit the red x which does not qit but closes it down to the left of the dock. If you click the icon it will open in its last remaining state.

    Hope that helps.

  • does anyone know how to put shortcuts on the menu bar, i know it is ^F2, bu it does not work?

Im not vey well on english.

  • I think that ctrl+scroll (with two fingers) will fix your problem. d=

  • Daniel please help me with my imac,My view is so big , like yours when you start your vid,how i can change it back to simple ,i cant see now all my folders , i need move my view with mouse, what the problem?

    Thanks.

Im not vey well on english.

  • this is the video i have been looking for because i am moving to a IMac, thanks DanielROdio!

  • I know QuickSilver does some other things, but for the most part you can do all your app launching by pressing Cmd+Space to open Spotlight.

  • you tutorial is inaccurate and you should not be used as any kind of reference for people using the mac for the first times.

  • Hi Fabulousuk, in what way do you feel my tutorial is inaccurate?

Isn't the fact that I'm showing the process on a video by definition pretty accurate, since I'm going through the steps?

  • Your mac does not turn off when you shut it, it goes to sleep.

.DMG files are not applications, they are Disk Images, they do not necessarily contain applications.

The right of the Dock does not show currently open applications, nor does the left of the dock show all installed applications. The right hand side of the dock shows minimized applications and any files or folders you have dragged there as well as the bin.

These are things you said in the 1st 3 or 4 minutes.

  • @DanielROdio

You asked fabulousuk in what way were you inaccurate and he responded showing you several errs in your video "tutorial". It's been at least one month since he posted that and you haven't responded. O_o ? You should man up and acknowledge your mistakes as well as fabulousuk who pointed them out. This video simply needs editing to correct the mistakes. There's no need to go into to hiding. It's not cool to leave them in place and mislead new Mac users. 

  • @DanielROdio You said and i quote "you'l see this little line here, ok. To the right are eeh applications that i have open currently and to the left are just all the applications that are on the computer."

this is inaccurate. i don't own a mac but know for a fact that to the left of that line, it creates stocks of files for you.

Im not trying to be an ass, im just saying that might confuse people.

  • What type of mac do you have?

  • Use expose; and you can get third party utilities like sticky windows; or drag thing to customize your mac just the way you like it.

    Dont forget spaces.

  • right and left clicks or primary and secondary clicks are adjusted from the system preferences under keyboard and mouse. On default, all macs come with one click button so u have to change it in system preferences to make it two click mouse. i just thought u should have mentioned it

  • Yes, I fix my mouse. Now I only have to tap my 2 fingers and I get the right click.
