It took me a while to figure out why I liked this video so much. It's happy. It's filled with love and happiness between the characters. It's beautiful in its purity.
I saw the back of Ann Reinking years ago on a NYC street from a block away. But it was just the way she held that amazing dancer's body that I knew it was her. When I finally passed her, I wanted to throw myself at her feet to honor her dancing but chickened out. But it's still a favorite memory. A dancer born to do Bob Fosse's choreography. Brilliant!
I adore this film - marvelous, gorgeous, melodious......with great acting, producing, editing, directing. Roy Scheider deserved the Oscar for this role - phenomenal acting. Other actors/actresses were brilliant too
1979 is one of my all time favorite years in film - All That Jazz, Alien, Rocky 2, Apocalypse Now, Moonraker, Mad Max, Kramer vs Kramer, The China Syndrome, The Brood, Tess, 1941 etc
Best scene in the movie. Roy Scheider actually upstages the two dancers with his reactions to their dancing. Good dancing, but beautiful acting by Scheider.
That "French Connection" guy? LOL!!!! Yes that is Roy Scheider. What is really cool is he had a scene with John Lithgow in this and then the two of them did 2010: The Year We Make Contact (the sequal to 2001: A Space Odyssey).
Reinking--the best legs since Cyd Charisse.

Roy Scheider manages to upstage the two dancers merely with his reactions.
