Oh my gosh... I almost cried!! This is the best SxR FMV ever!! I absolutely loved everything about the video, and its pretty obvious I'm a SxR fan, as Rinoa's my fav FF character lol ;D

In my opinion, I think "the simple thing" may refer to Rinoa, b/c as far as I've seen it, whenever that part is said, it shows Rinoa or the delousional memories of her when Squall was blacking out during the beginning of the ending. Um... yeah lol

It started out the best I've ever seen, a perfect reminder of the FFVIII adventure. However, as I was going to add to favorites, the vidoes lost it's story and got pretty random.

They're called flashbacks. Learn about them some time. This video employs everything perfectly, the story goes along just fine. The timing with the music is all great, really amazing production.

*Spoiler* Well, in the end the game leads you to believe that Squall dies due to being lost in the Time Compression, however, he doesn't. After the credits roll it shows a scene with Rinoa and Squall on the balcony of Balamb and the game ends with them kissing and GARDEN floating off into the moonlight. Aww... so to answer your question, no he doesn't die.
