What I got out of Sgt. Byrd's speech was "sorry I can't help too much but here have some ammunition now go kick his butt". XDD

And I like Spike. I don't care if he is hard, he looks really cool. But I agree; he's way too hard to be the second boss. He could be the final boss--or maybe a badder big bad, if you give him enough background. ;)

Oh my god... I remember this boss when I was 4. Oh god, I used to get so frustrated whenever I had to fight this guy.

This boss kicked my ass up and down the playstation. Took me a dozen trys and an army of spyros to finally bring him down.

Stupid laser. I hated that attack. Apparently, Spike's attacks are:

No spiky ball: Energy ball

Red spiky ball: Flame cannon

Blue spiky ball: Super annoying laser

i played this game when i was 5 or 6. I was freaked out at EVERYTHING. Even charging in the water to hit to octopus, jumping high and hitting the rocks(With the kangaroo character) to find a large monster behind. especially at the boss stage, my palms would sweat. I did not continue the game after reaching midnight mountain. The map was too scary for me to handle. Haha beautiful memories

Because this game was awesome, like the other early Spyro games.

The new games just aren't cutting the mustard, and they've taken away just what made the older Spyro games so fun.

@thehugecheese Yep, totally agree. I still play this game nowadays and he's still very hard to beat. The first part of the battle is difficult, there isn't that much time to knock those magma rocks into him and avoiding his attacks at the same time or at a time.
