Igbos have no interest in one Nigeria. The very massive oil wells discovered in Imo and Anambra would be used to silence many riverine areas whose oil wealth has hemorrhaged to the western and northern coffers. Igbos have entered the oil business, the least being a refinery in Anambra. Jitters will soon flow through the spine of many Igbo haters for the Biafra very dear to all us is on the horizon.
Half of the yellow sun is an impressive work.I got to know about the book when I was searching the internet for information on Nigerian Biafran war, after reading the abstract that was available on the web at that time,I became curious about the author right there. However, when I travelled to Finland to visit my girlfriend, she had the book ready as a surprise gift to me.Chimamanda is an outstanding talent.I am proud of Igbo race.
Half of a Yellow Sun was an amazing read! She has great descriptive style in her writing. I also love the way she uses the igbo-english (sort of like spanglish) language that one would hear when growing up with family members of Nigerian descent.
The house boy was one of my favorite characters as well...as well as Richard.
Some "Nigerians" inadvertently, are fund of employing the phrases; "our legislators," "our judiciary," "our ministers," "our president" etc when none of these office-holders were elected by the people. How do these people represent you when you did not elect them and they refuse to do anything the people say. All these Biafran traducers should address this matter before laying mendacious and irrational criticisms against the JUST CAUSE of BIAFRA.
It means read up on Aristotle, Kurt Godel, and Nassim Taleb and you "might" reconsider your views; I find your political standing quite disturbing. It is healthy to seek reconciliation for what happened in the past; I think it heals whatever wounds that exist. Nonetheless, this should be done with a view to creating a better world and not cutting open fresh wounds.
Is anybody stopping you from seeking reconciliation with anybody? Or is it that you killed more than two million of my people, and ever since you have continued to slaughter more and to threaten more carnage. Biafra is not at war with anybody; have never declared war on anybody. Instead it has been at the receiving end of Nigeria's evil and brutality. Wounds will only heal if you and your evil country will change your wicked ways, not when you continue to cratch it open with jark knife.
I understand your anger and why you have so much hatred towards Nigeria. Its leadership has failed it and its "peoples". I get the same reaction from Israelies when questioned about paletenians and vice versa. They all seem to generalise but, we are human; slaves to our emotions; "irrational" (No disrespect intended to you Sir). Nigeria's leadership has not only failed the people of the south east but, everyone. Do you pray a better world for all or just your kindred?
Who killed Parliamentarian Ogbonna Uche, former Attorney-general Bola Ige, Former Vice Chancellor UNN, Prof. Chimere Ikokwu, Publisher Victor Nwankwo, former MD Nigerian Airways Andrew Agom, 2,000 MASSOB Members - all extinguished by the criminal Obasanjo regime. Olusegun Matthew Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo is a high time criminal and devil incarnate whom justice must catch up with. These are the manner of people who rule Nigeria.
"[Gordon Brown is being accused of preparing for a military adventure in Africa after he pledged to provide backing to the Nigerian security forces. His announcement prompted the collapse of a ceasefire in the oil-rich Niger Delta and helped to drive up crude oil prices on world markets.]"

"[The group issued a "stern warning" to Mr Brown in an emailed statement: "Should Gordon Brown make good his threat to support this criminality for the sake of oil, UK citizens and interests in Nigeria will suffer the consequence]"

Nigeria has been run by a large band of organized criminals. It has only existed as a platform for the perpetuation of organized crimes. Since 1967 the band of organized criminals headed by prominent members of the thieving feudal gang comprising Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Jukun, Bini, Gwari, Angas, Nupe, Kanuri army officers who fought against Biafra during Nigeria's genocidal war against Biafra;
Yoruba traditional rulers called Obas; prominent Yoruba and Bini politicians and intellectuals; and prominent members of the Sokoto Caliphate including Northern Emirs, top politicians, top civil servants and their lieutenants;
and a handful of misguided, disgruntled, hard core criminal outcasts recruited from among the Efik, Ibibio, Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoja, Itsekiri, Esan, Urhobo, have been running this criminal enterprise called Nigerian government. They have successfully deceived the international community and the ordinary people in Nigeria into calling this thieving criminal gang "government" rather than what it actually it, "a purely criminal enterprise; a violent criminal syndicate."
For forty one years this thieving criminal gang has beaten the peoples in Nigeria so far into the dust that they have been conditioned not to expect much, in fact not to expect anything good at all from these criminals. Like any other violent criminal enterprise this criminal syndicate has relied heavily on intimidation, mindless brutality, murder, rape, starvation, corruption, and every conceivable form of violent coercion to continue to perpetuate their fraud and criminal enterprise.
Sadly the international community bought into this fraud and accorded the criminal syndicate in Nigeria the status of "government"; a situation that has provided members of the criminal syndicate cover to continue to perpetuate their crimes and now to export them to other countries of the free world including Europe and America.
It is therefore not a surprise that in all corners of the world today the name "Nigeria" or anything associated with that name is synonymous with mind boggling crime and shocking criminality and generates in people around the world the imagery and palpable fear and loathing of notorious criminals who must be avoided or chased away at all cost and by any means necessary.
In Nigeria every activity economic, political, social, military, administrative, cultural etc. revolves around this criminal syndicate. During the day members of this criminal gang shake down the poor people of Nigeria or "Nigerians"(so-called). At night armed robbers sponsored by the same criminal gang shake down the poor people of Nigeria. The armed robbers and the criminal gang are one and the same.
The Nigerian criminal syndicate including Olusegun Obasanjo, Theophilus Danjuma, Yar'Adua, Murtala Mohammed, Babangida, Abacha, Shagari, Benjamin Adekunle, collectively they destroyed whatever was left of Nigeria. Education, industry, trade, transport, economic development, political development, all have been destroyed and left in tartars.
It should really not have come as a surprise to anyone that Nigeria is no more. Look at the people parading themselves as leaders of Nigeria since 1967 -- Yakubu Gowon, Obasanjo, Mohammed, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Yar'Adua, Domcat Bali, John Shagaya, all virtual illiterates and common rogues;
Look at the governors; today we have in Nigeria governors who forge first school leaving certificate and secondary school certificate in order to qualify to be selected as governor or to be made minister, we have rogue governors who claim to have studied and earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in England, Canada, the United States and other places when they have never seen the inside of a university classroom.
They become governors, ministers, heads of state and presidents and shamelessly have the prefix Dr. affixed to their names. They are the same people who between 1967 and 1970 looted the personal effects of Ndigbo and other people in Biafra -- beds, mattresses, carpets, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, pots and pans, plates, silver ware, even brooms; loaded these in trailers and took them to their homes in Northern and Western Nigeria - cheap, common thieves who know nothing else but banditry.
This is why Nigeria has become the worlds training camp for high time criminals and conscienceless rogues from the presidents of Nigeria to ministers, governors, senators, representatives, bankers, to local councilmen.
The surest way to become a member of (or REMAIN IN) the government of Nigeria is to have been a convicted felon with a long criminal record, a notorious armed robber, a heartless drug dealer, and murderer, a sadistic con man and money launderer, and a virtual prostitute ready to hop in bed with every criminal in the Nigerian government.
Nigeria is beleaguered by so many internal contradictions that its ultimate collapse as a State is now only a matter of time. When that collapse occurs, Nigeria will join the graveyard of other unworkable and meaningless satanic empires constructed by colonial social engineers in Africa and elsewhere in the last century. Nigeria is uniquely evil because in its short violent existence, it has consumed over 3 million Igbo lives.
It will certainly not be missed when it goes the way of the defunct USSR, Yugoslavia and other murderous States.
There are some people who are currently benefiting from the satanic status of the State of Nigeria and its evil institutions of brutality. Such people have been ranting and raving about the US report of Nigeria's collapse, but total break up is now unavoidable and no amount of self-righteous rants will change the course of history.
"All the ethnic groups in Nigeria had their administrative structures long before colonial rule was imposed on us. We cannot expect them all to cling uncompromisingly to the Unitarian system that may mean very little to them and then mortgage their future, the future of their children and even the future of their children's children."
Nigerian "reformed" Nationalist Anthony Enahoro at the burial ceremony of Ralph Uwazurike's Mother. Daily Sun Newspapers. Monday January 21, 2008.
"I just want to do God's will. And he's allowed me to go to the mountain. And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land! I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land."
"He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it."
Shame on igbo haters including barbaric and inhuman yoruba man obafemi awolowo who advocated the use of starvation as an effective weapon of war. Hausa fulani and yoruba oligarchs who have ruled and ruined nigeria in 41years are equally the worst culprits. they hate themselves and africa. long live biafra the promised land for us and our future generation!!!
Any person who tells a Biafran to forget the Nigerian genocidal war of 1967 waged on the Biafrans should also muster courage and tell the people of Israel to forget millions of Jews who died in the hands of the Nazi Adolf Hitler, which they called the "Jewish Holocaust"
Nigeria committed the worst genocide since World War II, second only to the Jewish Holocaust in its brutality, horror, inhumanity, and brazen barbarism.
There is neither moral basis nor logical justification to advocate a forced unity between diametrically heterogeneous ethnic nationalities whose differences have caused incalculable loss of human lives and perennial conflict stoking. The bruises and sorrows brought to fathers and mothers, brothers, sisters and relatives stresses the urgent need to abolish the fallacy of such a failed project known as Nigeria.
"In a further show of its insincerity, the government of Umaru Yar'Adua ordered an invasion by the Nigerian military to several peace loving Ijaw communities in Edo, Bayelsa and Ondo states..on June 8, 2008. The invading force carried out terrible atrocities such as rape, vandalism and murder before razing down houses..while they deceitfully call for a summit on the Niger Delta." - Jomo Gbomo Movement For the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) spokesman. Daily Sun. Wednesday June 11, 2008.
Niger Delta is now at war as the illegitimate nigerian government under Yaradua puts N444.6 billion naira to militarize the zone, which translates to extermination.
Dr. E. C. Schwartzenbach wrote in the Swiss Review of Africa (February 1968), on the basis of an interview with a Nigerian Commissioner, whom he described as "one of the most impressive of the present military regime in Lagos":
"The [Nigerian] war aim and solution...of the entire problem was to discriminate against the Ibos in the future in their own interest."
Such discrimination would include above all the detachment of those oil-rich territories in the Eastern Region which were not inhabited by them at the beginning of the colonial period, on the lines of the projected twelve-state plan. In addition, the Ibos' movement would be restricted, to prevent their renewed penetration into the other parts of the country. Leaving them any access to the sea, the Commissioner declared, was quite out of the question.
Apostles of "One-Nigerianism" may keep trying to excuse the inexcusable and defend indefensible about the sick status of the crumbling State of Nigeria. What is the excuse for the "Niger-Delta" this time?
"This country is a Gestapo country. How can Nigeria be talking about South Africa. You see, South Africa is better than Nigeria. I know so my brother. We are saying that whites are mistreating blacks in South Africa. Okay, that's bad. That's racizm. They have a reason to do it. In South Africa when they do it, they face criticizm. So, they watch themselves before they do it. But blacks are mistreating blacks in Nigeria. What's the reason? That's worse."
"Police beat people on the streets like dogs. It is in Nigeria they come to do apartheid committees. Nigeria is this. Nigeria is that. In America, they talk about Nigeria as if Nigeria is the greatest country in Africa. But, Nigeria is the worst country in Africa. The worst things happen in Nigeria. Worse than South Africa." (Fela Anikulapo Kuti)
It is important to emphasize that we the people of Biafra earned the respect of the world and were hailed by diverse great 20th century figures such as Jean Paul Sartre and John Lennon who returned his British Knighthood in protest against British collusion in Nigeria's genocidal war on Biafra in 1967.
"Official policies, written or unwritten, have always been implemented against the peace and progress of the people of the former Eastern Region (Biafrans). The road network in the East is a nightmare; no easterner can aspire to become president of Nigeria; their young men and women are discriminated against and denied jobs in the civil service and so on." DR Ralph Uwazurike (MASSOB Leader and Biafran Frontline Nationalist) ----- Daily Independent Newspapers. Sunday June 1, 2008.
Obafemi Awolowo fanatically championed Nigeria's "Starvation as a legitimate weapon/quick kill" war strategy on Biafra/Biafrans, which resulted in a huge percent of the total Biafran casualty, especially the death of children in their millions. Biafrans are not quick to forget the £20.00-limit financial/economic strangulation which he placed on them immediately after the war (supossedly post-war)at a time when he instigated the privatisation of many Government owned concerns.
Worse, to add insult to injury on Biafrans, Awolowo's portrait is on the Nigerian Naira/currency, and the Igbo (Biafrans) were supposed to celebrate Awolowo as a National hero. Whose Nation? Awolowo is MONUMENTAL for Economic/Financial strangualtion of Igbo (Biafrans), yet he is celebrated on the Nigerian Naira. Why not put him (this monumental pain called Obefemi Awolowo) on the 20 Naira note?
The "Indigenisation Decree" which followed soon after the arbitrary award of worthless N20 (Naira) completed the routing of Igbo (Biafrans) from the commanding heights of the Nigerian economy. Only two years after the war supposed to have ended, when Igbo (Biafrans) were still in their economic doldrums, the Finance Minister of Nigeria, Chief Obafemi Awolowo contrived to auction off the Nigerian economy to the "indigenes" via the "Enterprises Promotion Decree" (so-called) in 1974.
The timing of this Nigerian Government policy ensured the effective exclusion of Igbo (Biafrans) from ownership in Nigeria's industrial sector, as they lacked the financial muscle to participate. As "the vanquished" were dispossessed of what they had, "the victors" were deliberately empowered through the banks to purchase the Nigerian "national"(illusionary that is) patrimony.
The head of the Islamic Jihadism in Nigeria, Sultan of Sokoto excuses Yar'Adua's slow policy in development after one year, basically explaining it away as his meticulous approach towards progress despite $61 billion external reserve. Each Nigerian government follows this approach meaning no progress. He sited Iranian electrification project as an example that the puppet leader may mirror. The insult on the public is clearly obvious. Under the Caliphate Nigerians surely continue suffering.Jun,08
Biafra, oh my sweet biafra the promised land for us and our future generation. long live biafra!!! chukwu nogere umubiafra nile . ana m atinye ya na ekpere nboshi nile. o ga adili umubiafra mma, ise!!!. Okoroman nwannen jisie ike chukwu gozie gi amen.
Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday, pulled down The Nation's Newspapers signboard along Edinburgh road, Enugu, claiming it has links with the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).
According to our findings, the police officers came from the Ogui police station and were busy dismantling Biafran flags mounted by MASSOB activists in preparation for the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the still-born republic slated for May
The divisional police officer (DPO), Mr. Jacob Muri, profoundly apologised for what he called "a grievous mistake", saying that his men were confused by the motto of The Nation 'Truth In Defence Of Freedom". According to him, since Biafra was all about freedom, his men saw the motto on the signpost and immediately concluded that it was linked with MASSOB.
"Please don't be annoyed. It was all a mistake. A grievious one for that matter. You see, these MASSOB boys are giving us headache. And it was in the confusion that they saw your signboard and thought it was linked to MASSOB due to the motto bearing the word freedom", explained the DPO.
Fellow Biafrans, You see? Again as said before, Nigeria is mortally afraid of our coming together and of our being of one WILL: the Will to be free, the Will to have our own country, Biafra. Nigeria understands the power of such a Will, and is deathly afraid of that happening. Nigeria's fears have been confirmed by its dealings with MASSOB and Ralph Uwazurike: there is such a Will, and it is super-strong and non-negotiable, and WE ARE EXERCISING THAT WILL.
Since 1970, each successive Nigerian government has been more corrupt and more brutal than the one before it. Since the year 2000, Transparency International has ranked Nigeria (#1) as the most corrupt country in the whole world two times, and (#2), second most corrupt country in the world two times. Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba oligarchs have stolen massive amounts of money that most Biafrans cannot even imagine.
From Yakubu Gowon, to Mohammed, Shagari, Babangida, Abubakar, to Obasanjo, it has been government of the thieves, for the thieves by the thieves. They have dumped some of this money in private accounts in Europe and used some of it to develop Abuja , Lagos , Ibadan , Sokoto, Kano , Bauchi, and Jos which they know are not your towns. What has happened to your own towns and cities in Biafra? They have neglected them and left them in ruins.
The worst roads in Nigeria are located in Biafran territory while the best roads in Nigeria are in the North and West.
The Igbo and other Easterners (Biafrans) are the most traveled people in Nigeria yet there is not even one single international airport(functional that is) in Biafran territory. But Sokoto, Maiduguri , Kano and even Minna have international airports. Which international businessmen go to Sokoto and Maiduguri?
Electricity supply to Biafran territory is so poor and erratic that Biafrans may have the largest number of private electric generators per capita in the whole world.
Teaching Hospitals and other health care facilities in Biafran territory have been totally neglected and left to rut and degenerate to ruins. Even Buhari's PTF did not bother itself with hospitals and pharmacies in Biafran territory.
The Government of Nigerian has destroyed high quality Education that used to be the pride of Biafra. Universities, secondary and primary schools are in a state of dilapidation and ruin.
Ninety percent of your children who graduated from Universities and Colleges in the past ten years are unemployed and have no means of livelihood. They are quickly becoming part of a "wasted generation" still depending on their parents for food, clothing and pocket money ten years after graduating from universities.
Hunger, desperation, and death have become the strange bedfellows of Biafran youths and families. Food, petrol, kerosene, and other essentials of life have becomes as difficult to find.
Insecurity of life and property has become the order of the day. The Federal Government of Nigeria has converted the Nigerian police into a killer squad. If you are a Biafran you can be shot dead by an illiterate Nigerian policeman simply for refusing to give him N20(naira)bribe. No questions asked. The lives of Biafrans have become worthless as they have been reduced to the status of slaves with no rights, freedoms and privileges.
The Nigerian Federal Government violates the fundamental rights of Biafrans with impunity. Your right to freely practice your religion of choice has been abrogated as Nigerian Moslems now impose fundamental Islamic law (Sharia) on non-Moslems Biafran Christians in Northern and Western Nigeria . In February 2000, more than two thousand Christian Biafrans of all ethnic groups were butchered in Kaduna and property worth hundreds of millions of dollars destroyed and looted.
All over Northern Nigeria churches that you spent millions of dollars of your hard earned money to build, have been systematically burned down. Your businesses worth billions of dollars have been looted, burned or destroyed often on the direct orders of governments of Northern and Western Nigeria.
If you continue to be in Nigeria, it will only be a matter of time before the Diocese of Asaba, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Enugu, Nsukka, Owerri, Iselle Ukwu will be renamed Emirates of Asaba, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Onitsha, Enugu, Nsukka, Owerri, Iselle-Ukwu and your magnificent Cathedrals converted to Mosques.
Many of your brothers, sisters, and parents have been forced out of Northern Nigeria and their businesses destroyed because Moslem governments in Northern Nigeria wouldn't let them live and do business where they want. Nigeria has officially become a Moslem country.
Governor Sanni Ahmed and the Moslem Ulamas have stated categorically that they will convert Christian Biafrans to Islam by force.Twelve States in Northern Nigeria and two in Western Nigeria have become fundamentalist Islamic Sharia States. Shehu Shagari has called on all Moslems including fundamentalists to stand up for Sharia. So has Muhammadu Buhari.
Chief Justice of Nigeria , justice Uwais has stated that Sharia law will be taught in all law schools in Biafran territory. What is left before your Churches are closed down and converted to Mosques?
All over Northern and Western Nigeria and Lagos , Igbo traders and businessmen are chased out after they have spent huge sums of their hard earned money to build decent markets.
In Lagos , Igbo traders drained the swamp in Jankara, cleared the garbage and built the decent Jankara Market only to be driven out by Commodore Mudashiru as Lagos government took over the market. They were directed to Ketu where they did exactly the same thing -- built a modern market from a swamp and garbage dump. Again they were driven away as Lagos State government stole the fruit of their labor, money and enterprise without compensation.
They were then directed to the Ojo Alaba swamp. Again they drained and filled the swamp, built a modern market with electricity, drinking water, banks etc. Then again the Lagos State government started chasing you out of the Ladipo Spare Parts Market.
First they take huge bribe from you to allow you to drain the swamp and build the market. After you build the market they start collecting rent from you. Next, they call it illegal structure, drive you away and take over the market. The same thing is now happening in Jos where Igbo traders have been chased out of the market they labored and built after Jos Market was burned down.
General Obasanjo sent his army of demolition to destroy Zaki Biam General Malu's hometown. After that the natives descended on Igbo businesses, looted shops and businesses belonging to Ndigbo, and burned down houses belonging to Ndigbo.
Our question is "When will Ndigbo learn that Nigeria does not want them except to exploit, humiliate and kill them? When will you learn to build those markets in Biafra realizing that customers go to the place where the goods are located? Most of you traders go to Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia etc. to order and purchase goods. You do not sit down in your homes and wait for the manufacturers in these countries to bring the goods to you, do you?
Your right to your own property including your ancestral land has been taken away from you by Nigerian Government. Today Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba oligarchs have seized your land, rivers and streams. They exploit the minerals in your land, steal the money, and use the money to buy arms and ammunition to kill you, to enrich themselves and their relatives as well as to develop cities in their own homeland thousands of kilometers away from you.
They leave you to die from drinking polluted water, eating poisoned crops from devastated farmland, and breathing polluted air from gas flaring. If you protest, they hang you, or send in the mobile police and army to deal ruthlessly with you and destroy your town. This is why they wiped out whole villages in Ijaw land, destroyed Umuechem, Odi and other towns, burned down whole villages, raped wives and daughters, and pillaged several other towns in Biafra.
This is why the Nigerian government has killed more than two hundred members of MASSOB, imprisoned thousands without trial and is constantly harassing Chief Ralph Uwazurike, MOSOP, BAKASSI, EGBESU and other organizations asking for self-determination and right to control their destiny and property in Biafra.
These are the harvest of "ONE NIGERIA " promised you by these Nigerian Rulers from Yakubu Gowon in 1967 to Yaradua in 2008.
What does the future in Nigeria hold for you, the good people of Biafra ? We hate to tell you this but it is only going to get worse, a lot worse. To continue to stay in Nigeria is to sentence you to life of the living dead. We know of no sane human being who when he or she prays to God, pleads that God give him or her a life of hell on earth.
Fortunately, you know that there is a better alternative to the abomination that is Nigeria . It is in this knowledge that Uwazurike,MASSOB, Biafra Foundation all in collaboration with other progressive organizations the world over is bringing to you. The goal is obvious, the objective is clear, and the message must now be absorbed.
Every Anang, Efik, Ibibio, Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoja, Ogoni etc man, woman and child must now listen and imbibe this message of hope. The people of Biafra have intertwined history and collective destiny. For too long people who have no love for any group in Biafra, no tolerance for freedom, progress, and decency have used every means at their disposal to divide us and to make us fight among ourselves.
As we were busy fighting and destroying each other they settled into the serious business of stealing everything we have and destroying whatever they could not steal.
They stole your land and the resources in it. They stole your wives and daughters. They stole your brothers and sisters and turned them against you. They killed those who refused to be stolen through bribery. Your houses, land, rivers and streams that they could not steal, they destroyed and polluted. They have been working very hard to destroy your exceptionally progressive culture.
As they commit these heinous crimes, they still tell you that they love and care for you. Sadly some of you believe them. After suffering incredible humiliation and torture for more than thirty years, the blindfold has been removed and we all can see clearly now.
then those igbos r stoopid! why didnt go back to their eastern states and better those states? when will will ever learn? why waste ya money building things in a foerign land only 2 get chased after u r done? how smart ws dat? rubbsih!
Are you dumb or what? that is what we actually did in 1966 before you choose to come and occupy our land by force of arms, because you want to steal oil.We want out of nigeria, cant you hear? Today you have killed more than 2000 Biafran activists and another more than 1000 are still languishing in detention centres all over Nigeria. And your forces of occupation are all over our land forcing us to be Nigerians. I ask again: Are you dumb or just plain stupid?
lol.....does dat make u feel better about ya self? calling me dumb and stupid? the truth does hurt. Igbos need to invest in their lands and quit migrating to other lands only to loose their toil. ifu r stay in ur land, u will not be insulted and direspected. dnt u h8t it when dey mock u for boasting about how we r hardworkin yet our own lands r nothing to write home about? comeon. its a shame 4 me if not 4 u. And yes, I am Igbo, and believe in Biafra. We need to do better for ourselves @least.
NO you are not Igbo, tell us what you are. Because if you are Igbo you would know why Igbos run abroad, not only other parts of Nigeria. Igbos have their faults alright, but one of them is certainly not running outside their homeland.
wat r our governors doing with the much money we get? eat them? let the igbos flex their brains in their own lands and quit complaining. we r busy toiling in other pple's lands.
Those governors are Nigerian governors stationed in Igboland, they are part of what is called divide and rule. They were not ruling under Biafran authority, but nigeria's evil rules; they were not elected by our people but selected by the juju man obasanjo. Remember elections dont hold in Nigeria. Next time you comment of "your governors" show some wisdom, and dont right like a dumb.
i am sure u meant "don't WRITE like a DUMMY"....but umm...yeah, u r in denial. its all good tho. all those igbo governors bearing igbo names and from Igbo lands are Nigerians? lol ekwem! and now i gotta prove daT I AM IGBO TOO? lol nsogbu adiro. dere gaba. o ga adi mma. Thx 4 the insults btw. learn to think more objectively. i understand u r fraustrated but common, our won governors are killing us as well.
Chickram, Nigerian governments controlled by Hausa-Fulani Islamic jihgadist genocidists and Yoruba tribalists and co-criminals like Obasanjo as is overwhelmingly evident exploits, oppresses, murders and commits genocide on innocent peoples and blame their victims for their(government's) calamities. That is the DEVIL right there for your knowledge. Be informed that Biafrans write these not to complain to the wicked but to inform those whose concerns are just and may be relevant to this cause.
u kno wat? umade a very good point on the fact alot of these governors arnt elected by their own pple rather the Nigerians. True. makes sense. but its just painful to kno dat pple dat bear igbo names, from Igbo lands are doing these to their own pple. AN outsider will not c that tho. rather they will c fellow Igbos killing their own pple.
Chicram, every society has its own share of miscreants, Igbo no less. See for yourself what Hausa-fulani and Yoruba miscreants have done to Nigeria steering the ship of state for 48 years. How do you correct a criminal political leader when the courts and Judiciary are so corrupt, if people demonstrate, they are shot dead and no one is held accountable, legislator are co-criminals, President is the chief crook. They deliberately turn a blind eye to peoples' complaints and responsibility of govt.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
damn nigga, do you just stay on youtube 24/7 typing epic books are comments? Why not go do something else, like have sex with women, find friends, find god, or i don't know, work.
Every video i go on to your typing chapters and chapters about stuff you will never do anything about.
well, outside of making youtube comments.
I guess being a youtube-revolutionary is the new wave huh?
Chikram, Iam clear about what Iam, an activist fighting (through peaceful, non-violent means)to liberate my people from the crux of their problem, Nigeria. It is the cowardly and frustrated that would not look at issues critically, articulately, but would blame victims of genocide, divide and rule, etc, rather than blame the perpetrators.Besidesm my definition of Igbo is not those who can string to Igbo words together to make a meaning, but those who know where the shoe pinch.
so basically, becos i can speak Igbo doesnt mean i am Igbo okwia? well, i can c a point in dat statement but when someone tells u they r Igbo, u have to 1stly recognize that. Its not everyday that pple claim they r Igbos. There r those who dont even wana be mistaken for an Igbo incase u dnt kno. and when i tell u i am Igbo, the 1st thing u do is deny me and strip me off my identity just to accomodate ur views. Quite shameful. I dont particularly feel like addressing t he rest of your comment.
The Igbo had spearheaded the liberation of Nigeria from formal British rule. The east was a booming economy, enjoying Africa's highest growth rate. It was educationally and economically much more advanced than any other part of Nigeria. The east was on course to developing into a leading economic and industrial power in another decade, fulfilling a comprehensive socioecconomic transformation goal it had launched in 1954.
(Genocide is Totally Indefensible By Prof. Herbert Ekwe-Ekwe)
Nigeria ensured that the Igbo died politically within it, then it gradually suffocated their economy as a people, and the last and most wicked plot is being approached methodically - military, genocidal extermination. So much for Gowon' slogan of "reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction" since 1970, when government policy is carefully crafted and manipulated on a constant basis against Biafrans.
The State of Nigeria violates the political security of Biafrans especially as relates to human rights and freedoms. All the reasons and justification for the declaration of Biafra in 1967 still exist today, save for the fact that THERE EXISTS MORE CLARITY about the vindictive, malicious and malevolent intent and the unrelenting determination of the State of Nigeria to do lasting harm to the people and nation of Biafra.
So Nigeria suffocated your economy as a people, ehn? Yet, Sassychioma would have us believe that the Igbo are the wealthiest and most enterprising people in Nigeria? CN Okoli, Ekene Dili Chukwu, etc. enjoy a virtual monopoly of the mass transit business from Lagos to Onitsha? The Igbo trade freely and unhindered in ALL markets from Port-Harcourt to Lagos, Lagos to Kano, etc? Any Igbo with a modicum of honesty knows that your statement cannot stand in the face of truth.
Brothers and sisters: Uwazurike has shocked Nigeria, proving to Nigeria what Nigeria has been so afraid of—that the indomitable Spirit of Biafra will manifest again. We know why Nigeria is afraid of Biafra: but, that is Nigeria's problem—a mental sickness which Nigeria wants to hold on to forever; so, so be it! for Nigeria. Biafra has never made war to Nigeria or against Nigeria, except in Biafra's self defense during the Nigeria's genocidal War of Biafra, 1967-1970: History is clear on that.
Nigeria has met the true Biafran in Ralph Uwazurike, who has demonstrated to Nigeria that Nigeria has nothing to offer which would hold any appeal to him or to a true Biafran, for that matter; that next to Biafra, even the best that Nigeria has to offer (money or positions)—even if genuine—pales into oblivion in comparison, with our freedom, which is in Biafra.
"Many would claim that the eight years under the immediate past civilian regime were not markedly different from the actual military despotic rule. Both appear to share a notable taste for ham-fisted attacks on the innocent, preferably with women at the forefront....your late mother has joined the ranks of such martyrs and that unsought halo must be your consolation." -----Wole Soyinka, paying tribute to Ralph Uwazurike(MASSOB LEADER)'s late mother. Champion Newspapers. Friday December 28, 2007.
"Wole Soyinka (Nobel Laureate)in his tribute addressed to Chief Uwazurike (MASSOB Leader and Biafran Nationalist)lamented the death of his mother describing it as a "collateral damage," arising from the assault she incurred from a man hunt for his son, Ralph, from a combined police and military forces." ---- Champion Newspapers. Friday December 28, 2007.
Onyibeb, you said, "There has never been elections in Nigeria, so we can never endulge in self-decetion, or join you in your self-deception which has made you the laughing stock of the world."
Simple question, were the elections that saw the ascendency of Tafawa Balewa and Zik free and fair? I bet you cannot anwer truthfully because, it begs the question as to why the Igbo, through Nzeogwu truncate that nacent experiment in the most barbaric fashion? And Why did Zik and Opara survived?
Moreover, why didn't Aguiyi Ironsi act expeditiously to address that MASSIVE injustice? True, norhern Muslims had unleashed spates of violence against southerners (not just Igbos) and northern minorties prior to independence. However, not withstanding this antecedents, the Igbo had signed onto various pre-independence agreements and negotiations. Though I stand to be corrected, I don't think there is any record of violence in the north between 1 Oct. 1960 and the events of January 1960.
Well, finally, Nigeria has met the true Biafran in Ralph Uwazurike, who has demonstrated to Nigeria that Nigeria has nothing to offer which would hold any appeal to him or to a true Biafran, for that matter; that next to Biafra, even the best that Nigeria has to offer (money or positions)—even if genuine—pales into oblivion in comparison.
We could spend the rest of the broadcast extolling Ralph Uwazurike's virtues as one of the few remaining real Biafrans: that will be well deserved, of course, and we indeed must express our appreciation to him for making Biafra proud again and proving that the Biafra Spirit is possessed of by some, still. We thank him for demonstrating the power of just one individual's will—a veritable lesson for humanity.
However, Uwazurike will be the first person to tell us that this is not about him personally, now: it is about Biafra, about Biafrans—about you and about me. This is about reminding everyone of us that we individually have a God-given WILL based on our God-given Rights, whose tremendous power is to be exercised whenever conditions so demand.
Imagine manifesting such a WILL collectively, as Biafrans: imagine the immeasurable power generated, to be focused on getting our freedom through Biafra actualization? That is the meaning of Ralph Uwazurike's defiance of Nigeria's criminal inducements, lethal threats and pernicious actions against our people.
We must cultivate and or reactivate that Spirit of Biafra by having in us that same Mind which is in Ralph Uwazurike when it comes to Biafra and Biafra actualization. That's our weapon to Biafra actualization, our ticket to Biafra.
No region or group has demonstrated more altruistic and patriotic passion—even if completely misplaced—for Nigeria than Biafra; none has contributed more (and more positively) to Nigeria; neither has any integrated and tried so much to integrate into Nigeria more than Biafra. Through it all, all Nigeria has done is try with everything it possesses to suppress and annihilate Biafra and the Biafra Spirit, with uncharacteristic phobia and unjustifiable paranoia.
Fellow Biafrans: Nigeria is mortally afraid of our coming together and of our being of one WILL: the Will to be free, the Will to have our own country, Biafra. Nigeria understands the power of such a Will, and is deathly afraid of that happening. Nigeria's fears have been confirmed by its dealings with Ralph Uwazurike: there is such a Will, and it is super-strong and non-negotiable, and WE ARE EXERCISING THAT WILL!
It is our Moral duty now to get caught up with, and get in touch with, our WILL. We will exercise our Will to Live, our Will to survive, our Will to actually thrive, in actualizing Biafra and re-establishing Biafra. If Nigeria wants to take offense at this, that's Nigeria's problem. We have but one imperative: SURVIVAL, at no one's particular expense but ours (certainly not at Nigeria's expense), that we may thence thrive and fulfill our nature and Divine endowment.
We continue to demand that Nigeria release all MASSOB members and officials from Nigeria's dungeons, wherever they may be. All that Nigeria will prove by continuing to hold them is Nigeria's ongoing fear of Biafra, and the flipside of that coin: the certainty that Biafra has been willed into reality by Biafrans.
Long used to bribing Biafrans, especially the Igbo, and so-called Igbo or Biafran leaders, to sell Biafrans out, Nigeria has run into the real Biafran, an honest Biafran, the true Biafran, in the person of Ralph Uwazurike, an Igbo / Biafran who will not be bought, no matter how much Nigeria offers him to abandon Biafra and the MASSOB Biafra agenda.
For years, Nigeria, when money inducement failed, has used intimidation, followed by physical torture and even death, to get Biafra's so-called leaders to succumb and support and carry out Nigeria's lethal policies against Biafra.
That is until now: today, Nigeria has encountered the quintessential Biafran, Ralph Uwazurike, who will not be intimidated, is not afraid to be tortured and not afraid to die, for the sake of Biafra's cause, and in the course of Biafra Actualization. Nigeria has finally met that real human species called Biafran.
Applying a variation of the theme, Nigeria has in the recent past been using the tactic of offering posts and positions which on the surface appear to be influential or powerful, to Biafrans, using such to get Biafran so-called leaders and other elite to join with and support Nigeria in continuing to cheat and humiliate our people.
Truth be told, these posts lack power because an Hausa-Fulani or Yoruba man or woman will actually—invariably—be placed in charge; the positions are a mere tokenism, the only motivation for Nigeria offering such posts being to exploit the power-seeking personal psychological needs of the succumbing Biafran so-called leaders.
Well, finally, Nigeria has met the true Biafran in Ralph Uwazurike, who has demonstrated to Nigeria that Nigeria has nothing to offer which would hold any appeal to him or to a true Biafran, for that matter; that next to Biafra, even the best that Nigeria has to offer—even if genuine—pales into oblivion in comparison.
Fellow Biafrans: Nigeria is mortally afraid of our coming together and of our being of one WILL: the Will to be free, the Will to have our own country, Biafra. Nigeria understands the power of such a Will, and is seriously afraid of that happening. Nigeria's fears have been confirmed by its dealings with Ralph Uwazurike: there is such a Will, and it is super-strong and non-negotiable, and WE ARE EXERCISING THAT WILL!
LOL!! The Presidency of Nigeria, in the current democratic disposition can only be attained by way of election. The Igbo are incapable of fielding a viable presidential candidat. You may say that Nigeria's electoral process isn't transparent enough, but neither is the US'. Moreover, you'd be HARD PRESSED to find a SINGLE Igbo candidate who is capable of garnering national support because you haven't the constituency.
The June 12 1993 elections were adjudged by all and sundry to be the freest and fairest in Nigerian history and Abiola was able to garner votes from even the heart of the North and defeated Toffa, a Northern candidate. Compare that with the vaunted Ikemba's performance, or lack thereof, when he ran in a senatorial election in his own constituency? Nigeria isn't reverting to totalitarianism as such, that leaves the Igbo with no choice but V.P. and cabinet positions.
Nobody is going to INSTALL an Igbo in the Presidency. You will have to do the hard work and go around the country, campaign to those whom you've called vandals and barbarians. Those whom you regard as beneath you and earn their confidence. Absent this, you will NEVER get a whiff of the Presidency unless you attempt to do it the way Nzeogwu did and subvert the nation as has ALWAYS been your stock in trade.
There has never been elections in Nigeria, so we can never endulge in self-decetion, or join you in your self-deception which has made you the laughing stock of the world.come to think of that, installation is your way of life. Nigeria is for those who revel in living in the laterine, and we are not partof such people.
lol@ u talking like nigeria is some ish. seriously, we dnt give a walk! we still better off either way.the ones u guys put up there have done more harm than good yet u sit there and swear that an igbo person will NEVER be in the office. lmao! wait till we establish our country...BIAFRA. hehehe...something y'll cnt boast of. dats y u mad. we made a history with that. Now thats something 2 b proud of. not somw stoopid nigerialol
Niger Delta is now at war as the illegitimate nigerian government under Yaradua/Obasanjo command maps out N444.6 billion naira to militarize the zone, which translates to extermination. It can(can't) develop the region with much less? But the Hausa/Fulani-Yoruba oligarchy and the Sokoto caliphate, with their northern theocracy, which affords them to operate Nigeria as a Muslim State can't do that for the infidels. People should no longer be fooled, seriously! "One-Nigeria" is an oxymoron.

Half of a Yellow Sun was an amazing read! She has great descriptive style in her writing. I also love the way she uses the igbo-english (sort of like spanglish) language that one would hear when growing up with family members of Nigerian descent.

Logic is an idiot my friend... Anybody well versed in oratory can take a set of uncorrelated (random facts) and fit them to suit their argument.

What is the meaning of that?
Onyibeb 2 years ago
It means read up on Aristotle, Kurt Godel, and Nassim Taleb and you "might" reconsider your views; I find your political standing quite disturbing. It is healthy to seek reconciliation for what happened in the past; I think it heals whatever wounds that exist. Nonetheless, this should be done with a view to creating a better world and not cutting open fresh wounds.
kamatcho123 2 years ago
Is anybody stopping you from seeking reconciliation with anybody? Or is it that you killed more than two million of my people, and ever since you have continued to slaughter more and to threaten more carnage. Biafra is not at war with anybody; have never declared war on anybody. Instead it has been at the receiving end of Nigeria's evil and brutality. Wounds will only heal if you and your evil country will change your wicked ways, not when you continue to cratch it open with jark knife.
Onyibeb 2 years ago 3
I understand your anger and why you have so much hatred towards Nigeria. Its leadership has failed it and its "peoples". I get the same reaction from Israelies when questioned about paletenians and vice versa. They all seem to generalise but, we are human; slaves to our emotions; "irrational" (No disrespect intended to you Sir). Nigeria's leadership has not only failed the people of the south east but, everyone. Do you pray a better world for all or just your kindred?

Brown blunders in pledge to secure Nigeria oil
PM's offer of military aid to Nigeria provokes collapse of ceasefire amid angry claims that UK has 'declared war' on rebel army

"[Gordon Brown is being accused of preparing for a military adventure in Africa after he pledged to provide backing to the Nigerian security forces. His announcement prompted the collapse of a ceasefire in the oil-rich Niger Delta and helped to drive up crude oil prices on world markets.]"

Nigeria has been run by a large band of organized criminals. It has only existed as a platform for the perpetuation of organized crimes. Since 1967 the band of organized criminals headed by prominent members of the thieving feudal gang comprising Yoruba, Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Jukun, Bini, Gwari, Angas, Nupe, Kanuri army officers who fought against Biafra during Nigeria's genocidal war against Biafra;

Yoruba traditional rulers called Obas; prominent Yoruba and Bini politicians and intellectuals; and prominent members of the Sokoto Caliphate including Northern Emirs, top politicians, top civil servants and their lieutenants;

and a handful of misguided, disgruntled, hard core criminal outcasts recruited from among the Efik, Ibibio, Igbo, Ijaw, Ogoja, Itsekiri, Esan, Urhobo, have been running this criminal enterprise called Nigerian government. They have successfully deceived the international community and the ordinary people in Nigeria into calling this thieving criminal gang "government" rather than what it actually it, "a purely criminal enterprise; a violent criminal syndicate."
Okoroman 3 years ago

For forty one years this thieving criminal gang has beaten the peoples in Nigeria so far into the dust that they have been conditioned not to expect much, in fact not to expect anything good at all from these criminals. Like any other violent criminal enterprise this criminal syndicate has relied heavily on intimidation, mindless brutality, murder, rape, starvation, corruption, and every conceivable form of violent coercion to continue to perpetuate their fraud and criminal enterprise.
Okoroman 3 years ago
Sadly the international community bought into this fraud and accorded the criminal syndicate in Nigeria the status of "government"; a situation that has provided members of the criminal syndicate cover to continue to perpetuate their crimes and now to export them to other countries of the free world including Europe and America.
Okoroman 3 years ago
It is therefore not a surprise that in all corners of the world today the name "Nigeria" or anything associated with that name is synonymous with mind boggling crime and shocking criminality and generates in people around the world the imagery and palpable fear and loathing of notorious criminals who must be avoided or chased away at all cost and by any means necessary.
Okoroman 3 years ago
In Nigeria every activity economic, political, social, military, administrative, cultural etc. revolves around this criminal syndicate. During the day members of this criminal gang shake down the poor people of Nigeria or "Nigerians"(so-called). At night armed robbers sponsored by the same criminal gang shake down the poor people of Nigeria. The armed robbers and the criminal gang are one and the same.
Okoroman 3 years ago
The Nigerian criminal syndicate including Olusegun Obasanjo, Theophilus Danjuma, Yar'Adua, Murtala Mohammed, Babangida, Abacha, Shagari, Benjamin Adekunle, collectively they destroyed whatever was left of Nigeria. Education, industry, trade, transport, economic development, political development, all have been destroyed and left in tartars.
Okoroman 3 years ago
It should really not have come as a surprise to anyone that Nigeria is no more. Look at the people parading themselves as leaders of Nigeria since 1967 -- Yakubu Gowon, Obasanjo, Mohammed, Shagari, Buhari, Babangida, Yar'Adua, Domcat Bali, John Shagaya, all virtual illiterates and common rogues;
Okoroman 3 years ago
Look at the governors; today we have in Nigeria governors who forge first school leaving certificate and secondary school certificate in order to qualify to be selected as governor or to be made minister, we have rogue governors who claim to have studied and earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in England, Canada, the United States and other places when they have never seen the inside of a university classroom.
Okoroman 3 years ago
They become governors, ministers, heads of state and presidents and shamelessly have the prefix Dr. affixed to their names. They are the same people who between 1967 and 1970 looted the personal effects of Ndigbo and other people in Biafra -- beds, mattresses, carpets, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, pots and pans, plates, silver ware, even brooms; loaded these in trailers and took them to their homes in Northern and Western Nigeria - cheap, common thieves who know nothing else but banditry.
Okoroman 3 years ago
This is why Nigeria has become the worlds training camp for high time criminals and conscienceless rogues from the presidents of Nigeria to ministers, governors, senators, representatives, bankers, to local councilmen.
Okoroman 3 years ago

There are some people who are currently benefiting from the satanic status of the State of Nigeria and its evil institutions of brutality. Dr. E.
Okoroman 3 years ago
Such discrimination would include above all the detachment of those oil-rich territories in the Eastern Region which were not inhabited by them at the beginning of the colonial period, on the lines of the projected twelve-state plan. In addition, the Ibos' movement would be restricted, to prevent their renewed penetration into the other parts of the country. Leaving them any access to the sea, the Commissioner declared, was quite out of the question.

So, they watch themselves before they do it. But blacks are mistreating blacks in Nigeria. What's the reason? That's worse."

"Official policies, written or unwritten, have always been implemented against the peace and progress of the people of the former Eastern Region (Biafrans). The road network in the East is a nightmare; no easterner can aspire to become president of Nigeria; their young men and women are discriminated against and denied jobs in the civil service and so on." Obafemi Awolowo fanatically championed Nigeria's "Starvation as a legitimate weapon/quick kill" war strategy on Biafra/Biafrans, which resulted in a huge percent of the total Biafran casualty, especially the death of children in their millions. Biafrans are not quick to forget the £20.00-limit financial/economic strangulation which he placed on them immediately after the war (supossedly post-war)at a time when he instigated the privatisation of many Government owned concerns.
Okoroman 3 years ago

Okoroman 3 years ago

Enugu Police Invade The Nation Newspapers Over MASSOB
Nnamdi Mbawike, Leadership Nigeria (newspaper online),May 2008
Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force on Sunday, pulled down The Nation's Newspapers signboard along Edinburgh road, Enugu, claiming it has links with the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).

Insecurity of life and property has become the order of the day. The Federal Government of Nigeria has converted the Nigerian police into a killer squad. If you are a Biafran you can be shot dead by an illiterate Nigerian policeman simply for refusing to give him N20(naira)bribe. No questions asked. The lives of Biafrans have become worthless as they have been reduced to the status of slaves with no rights, freedoms and privileges.
Okoroman 3 years ago
The Nigerian Federal Government violates the fundamental rights of Biafrans with impunity. Your right to freely practice your religion of choice has been abrogated as Nigerian Moslems now impose fundamental Islamic law (Sharia) on non-Moslems Biafran Christians in Northern and Western Nigeria . In February 2000, more than two thousand Christian Biafrans of all ethnic groups were butchered in Kaduna and property worth hundreds of millions of dollars destroyed and looted.

All over Northern and Western Nigeria and Lagos , Igbo traders and businessmen are chased out after they have spent huge sums of their hard earned money to build decent markets.
Okoroman 3 years ago
In Lagos , Igbo traders drained the swamp in Jankara, cleared the garbage and built the decent Jankara Market only to be driven out by Commodore Mudashiru as Lagos government took over the market. They were directed to Ketu where they did exactly the same thing -- built a modern market from a swamp and garbage dump. Again they were driven away as Lagos State government stole the fruit of their labor, money and enterprise without compensation.
Okoroman 3 years ago
They were then directed to the Ojo Alaba swamp. Again they drained and filled the swamp, built a modern market with electricity, drinking water, banks etc. Then again the Lagos State government started chasing you out of the Ladipo Spare Parts Market.
Okoroman 3 years ago
First they take huge bribe from you to allow you to drain the swamp and build the market. After you build the market they start collecting rent from you. Next, they call it illegal structure, drive you away and take over the market. The same thing is now happening in Jos where Igbo traders have been chased out of the market they labored and built after Jos Market was burned down.

General Obasanjo sent his army of demolition to destroy Zaki Biam General Malu's hometown. After that the natives descended on Igbo businesses, looted shops and businesses belonging to Ndigbo, and burned down houses belonging to Ndigbo.
Okoroman 3 years ago
Our question is "When will Ndigbo learn that Nigeria does not want them except to exploit, humiliate and kill them? When will you learn to build those markets in Biafra realizing that customers go to the place where the goods are located? Most of you traders go to Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia etc. to order and purchase goods. You do not sit down in your homes and wait for the manufacturers in these countries to bring the goods to you, do you?
Okoroman 3 years ago
Your right to your own property including your ancestral land has been taken away from you by Nigerian Government. Today Hausa/Fulani/Yoruba oligarchs have seized your land, rivers and streams. They exploit the minerals in your land, steal the money, and use the money to buy arms and ammunition to kill you, to enrich themselves and their relatives as well as to develop cities in their own homeland thousands of kilometers away from you.
Okoroman 3 years ago
They leave you to die from drinking polluted water, eating poisoned crops from devastated farmland, and breathing polluted air from gas flaring. If you protest, they hang you, or send in the mobile police and army to deal ruthlessly with you and destroy your town. This is why they wiped out whole villages in Ijaw land, destroyed Umuechem, Odi and other towns, burned down whole villages, raped wives and daughters, and pillaged several other towns in Biafra.
Okoroman 3 years ago
This is why the Nigerian government has killed more than two hundred members of MASSOB, imprisoned thousands without trial and is constantly harassing Chief Ralph Uwazurike, MOSOP, BAKASSI, EGBESU and other organizations asking for self-determination and right to control their destiny and property in Biafra.

They deliberately turn a blind eye to peoples' complaints and responsibility of govt.

Okoroman 3 years ago
Nigeria ensured that the Igbo died politically within it, then it gradually suffocated their economy as a people, and the last and most wicked plot is being approached methodically - military, genocidal extermination. So much for Gowon' slogan of "reconciliation, rehabilitation and reconstruction" since 1970, when government policy is carefully crafted and manipulated on a constant basis against Biafrans.
Okoroman 3 years ago
The State of Nigeria violates the political security of Biafrans especially as relates to human rights and freedoms. All the reasons and justification for the declaration of Biafra in 1967 still exist today, save for the fact that THERE EXISTS MORE CLARITY about the vindictive, malicious and malevolent intent and the unrelenting determination of the State of Nigeria to do lasting harm to the people and nation of Biafra.

Titoscudd 3 years ago
Moreover, why didn't Aguiyi Ironsi act expeditiously to address that MASSIVE injustice? True, norhern Muslims had unleashed spates of violence against southerners (not just Igbos) and northern minorties prior to independence. However, not withstanding this antecedents, the Igbo had signed onto various pre-independence agreements and negotiations. Though I stand to be corrected, I don't think there is any record of violence in the north between 1 Oct. 1960 and the events of January 1960.

January 1966 I meant to say.

Okoroman 3 years ago
However, Uwazurike will be the first person to tell us that this is not about him personally, now: it is about Biafra, about Biafrans—about you and about me. This is about reminding everyone of us that we individually have a God-given WILL based on our God-given Rights, whose tremendous power is to be exercised whenever conditions so demand.
Okoroman 3 years ago
Imagine manifesting such a WILL collectively, as Biafrans: imagine the immeasurable power generated, to be focused on getting our freedom through Biafra actualization? That is the meaning of Ralph Uwazurike's defiance of Nigeria's criminal inducements, lethal threats and pernicious actions against our people.
Okoroman 3 years ago
We must cultivate and or reactivate that Spirit of Biafra by having in us that same Mind which is in Ralph Uwazurike when it comes to Biafra and Biafra actualization. That's our weapon to Biafra actualization, our ticket to Biafra.

No region or group has demonstrated more altruistic and patriotic passion—even if completely misplaced—for Nigeria than Biafra; none has contributed more (and more positively) to Nigeria; neither has any integrated and tried so much to integrate into Nigeria more than Biafra.
Okoroman 3 years ago
For years, Nigeria, when money inducement failed, has used intimidation, followed by physical torture and even death, to get Biafra's so-called leaders to succumb and support and carry out Nigeria's lethal policies against Biafra.
Okoroman 3 years ago
That is until now: today, Nigeria has encountered the quintessential Biafran, Ralph Uwazurike, who will not be intimidated, is not afraid to be tortured and not afraid to die, for the sake of Biafra's cause, and in the course of Biafra Actualization. Nigeria has finally met that real human species called Biafran.
Okoroman 3 years ago
Applying a variation of the theme, Nigeria has in the recent past been using the tactic of offering posts and positions which on the surface appear to be influential or powerful, to Biafrans, using such to get Biafran so-called leaders and other elite to join with and support Nigeria in continuing to cheat and humiliate our people.
Okoroman 3 years ago
