My point is.... what alternative do they have? Their only options are lay down and die or fight back. The Indian Gov. DOES ave options, they could treat them decently, then the problem goes away.

India was never socialist. The autarky period served to protect India's home grown capitalists from foreign competition, that's all. Socialism means planned production in the interests of social need and democratic workers councils.

The poverty figures provided by the Indian government are fudged. Dandekar and Rath provided minimum wage requirements for citizens to avoid poverty, these figures have never been adjusted with inflation.
