The house stuff is already very good using the X10 system. Voice rec is always better if you can teach it your accent and dialect, rather than it just 'knowing' how words sound.

I've tried Vista's Speech Recognition. I love Apple. I hate Microsoft. I honestly love Vista's Speech Recognition. It's so much better. If Mac OS X had it, it'd be perfect.

No... I Know you have been "saying mac os x" and that is the problem it is "mac OS 10" X is the numeral for "10" :-)

Vista has a pritty cool spech recognition. It also gets better over time at reconizing your voice. (i think the mac dose the same). It just dose terrible when your in notpade, word, or prittymuch whenever you talk normaly to make a sentence. You have to talk very slowly. It makes the stupidest mistakes though. You say:Birthday it putes in: Barbaque.

You obviously haven't seen speech recognition in Vista. It looks like in OS X you can only do simple commands. In Vista the technology is powerful enough to allow the user to navigate webpages and even do dictation. You can even manipulate the mouse if no other command will work.

I do agree that speech recognition is crap, though. :-)

i a gree th speach recog nition on vista is top of the class but its stills crap and most of the time it doesnt under stand and it crashes everyour for somereson thats right its a microsoft program how could i forget they suck i got vista fot free from acer
