Steely Dan has been one of my all time favorites since 'Ricky, Don't Lose That Number'. Unfortuantely, I couldn't attend the concert in Kansas City. Thank You so much for posting this video.
@glockman61 You're most welcome. I should have shuttled my camera in and the video would have been much better however I was really happy with the audio.
Thank you for posting this so soon after the show. Drummer Keith Carlock's performance on this tune was without question the highlight of the entire night. Though you can't see it from the distance of this video, it was spectacular. Someone filming it that was closer will undoubtedly post it.
How that guy can take Steve Gadd's original and interpret in as amazing a fashion as he did - in his own voice - was breathtaking.
I'm a giant Dan fan and didn't expect Aja to be the highlight for me...
@soliloquy2112 ...Keith was spectacular and, until I looked it up I didn't know he's played with Sting, John Mayer, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Donald Fagen, Walter Becker, Diana Ross, Faith Hill, The Blues Brothers Band, Leni Stern, David Johansen and the Harry Smiths, Richard Bona, Chris Botti, Wayne Krantz, Harry Belafonte, Oz Noy, Clay Aiken, Rascal Flatts, Paula Abdul, and Grover Washington, Jr. My friend BB is a hugh Dan fan and you can hear him say "watch the drummer"!
was there! its was pretty good, ive seen'em before an was hopeing for 'FM" or "decon blues" and as always "royal scam" an thought they were holden back a bit ,but then again they've got three day in a row up north,...but very cool thanks !
@TheIverson6 ...I figure, if we'd heard all there great tunes, they would have to have played until sometime this afternoon. Thanks for the comment. It's not on the T-Shirt but they're playing at Pearl Concert Theater At Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on October 13th according a friend of mine who lives there.
