I lived next door to Slim and his family on South 16th st. in Abilene, I was very young but I remember my Mother loved to go to there little practice studio he had out back of his house. A story I heard but was to young to know for sure but when he brought Elvis to Abilene to perform, to save them Money they spent the night at his little studio behind his house. Then he hit the big time with Stars and they moved to Elmwood Area, and his brother moved into his old house. Slim was a awesome guy
