  • such a complex track and as many people say it is an album that is a bit difficult to get into. But this is definitely the best on this track. Which is the best? Well there is so much good stuff and Black Swans album is very very good too. But he has been consistently excellent throughout

  • Who's the drummer?

  • @Pir44tti Jeff Campitelli

  • hyperboogie's right! ..everytime I listen to this songs I risk to crash my car! ;))

  • @ceilinger I hear that, In fact I ran into the garage door at the house "Air Trashing these Guitar riff's! It makes me Shake! Mighty Joe Satriani...Thanks for the Music!

  • the best ever !!!

  • I remember this tune from the 90 s background themes television programs , like extreme sports or movies... NICE TUNE REALLY !!! LEGALIZE IT FROM BUENOS AIRES

  • i should learn this on guitar

  • The song "IF" is just one of those songs that make you feel alive. I'm a drummer of 40 years and I play along to this song to warm up everyday. This song on a rating of 1-10 gets a 15

  • Manu Katché kicks some serious ass in this album.

  • One of my all time Satriani favorites !!! : )

    Underestimated album.

  • manu katche the drummer makes this track what it is

  • Kirk Hammett doesn't like this. :-)

  • This album is truely underestimated, that"s right

  • This album is without doubt the jewel in Satch's crown (so far anyway) while the Extremist was definitely brillant "Joe Satriani" is so much more "off centre" in the grooves and rhythms, it is definitely one of the "hardest" to get into but perseverance will pay off ten fold on this CD.

  • AWESOME SONG

  • I'm such a Satch fan but this CD is still mostly a mystery to me. The only familiar one I know is Cool #9.....heh kinda like opening a treasure chest.

  • While this album is sadly most definitely underestimated, in my opinion, The Extremist easily takes the crown as Satch's best album to date. But that's just me ;) People keep telling me I'm too young to appreciate this sort of music, being an 18 year old girl. Well, those people are sadly mistaken, as I could not be happier than when I'm chilling with Hello Kitty and Satch blowin my mind from all sides with his incredible ability :)

  • @mysteryloser24 I try to keep an open mind about things yet it's hard to stay up when all you meet is people who think lil wayne and jayz is a godsend... I am 19 now (male) and i've had my fair share of ppl making fun of my favorite music (often joe satch! : /). i wish i knew how to explain all my feelings precisely but all i know is that... i would LOVE to meet you! you seem like a very intelligent, laid back, artistic person (as i like to believe myself to be, no ego trip intended) : )

  • @yumberri Thank you! Perhaps you could send me a private message about your feelings? I know I'd sure love to hear more about how you feel on this subject and more.Don't you just feel affronted when people say we're too young to appreciate older music and things like that? Just because we weren't born when certain songs were written, doesn't mean we shouldn't, or can't enjoy them. And it's not just music, I've been told not to wear skinny jeans, because I wasn't born when they were invented! :s

  • @mysteryloser24 ya I wear skinny slouch and guys are like "what the heck dude guys are *supposed* to wear baggy jeans" lol crazy world yah sry the message should have been more prvt I just got really excited like it was christmas and stuff... hehe my favorite name for christmas is axemas lol cause I love guitars and crank up the rock xmas tunes... I know I'm random, but i've realized that spontaneous ppl enjoy more talented timeless music than the typical doctorlawyeraccountant pplz

  • @yumberri I love guitars too, but I hate christmas. It's a sad time of year for me... Anyways, enough of that. :) The way I feel about this sort of music, and rock, and metal, makes it hard for me to believe I used to be a die-hard dance music fan. But I was younger then, and stupid. :) I was ignorant to real music, but not anymore. I can't take all that trashy, false music, with it's ridiculous computer-generated beats that never fit with the music, and stupid lyrics without sense, or meaning..

  • Manu Katché play drums?

  • yep

  • EPIC. AGAIN. God damn the flow of his sons are so pure and emotional, really guitar playing right there, Love it.

  • Manu for me, is one of the most creative drummers in the world. He has a signature feel that no drummer can copy...I love his playing!

  • Manu does an unbelievable job on the drums on this album and especially on this song.

  • im learning how to play this song now

its hard to find tabs for it.

  • @seilathy I had the book for the entire album back in the day. Our house burned down in 98 though.

  • @MagicTGman Wow, that's harsh... the only book I could find of his was Super Colossal lol

  • This album is sadly underestimated.

It is one of the best albums Satch ever made.

This is one of my favorite tracks on the album.

The breakdown part is the epitome and zenith of groove. there's no way you can stop your pelvic area still while listening to it

    :-)

  • This album is sadly underestimated, indeed.

  • @hyperboogie yes yes yes truer words have not yet been spoken : )

  • @hyperboogie Couldn't agree more with you man!! I think this might actually be my favourite album of his... incredible and some of the best improv I've ever heard: from both the guitar and drums!! Manu Katche is the man.

  • @hyperboogie agreed, this album is chock full of great music. All respect to Jeff Campitelli, but Manu Katche is in a league of his own and his drumming shines so much on this track and the other ones from this album that he played on.

  • @DanH1970 Ohh... without a doubt Manu is in a different league.

Jeff is OK but Manu is stellar!!! Andy also hugely contributes to the groove on this track and the rest of the album.

  • @hyperboogie i have it in my truck

  • @hyperboogie Very well Said! This is a Dead Reanimator...and a force of nature!

  • I couldn't agree more, this is definitely one of his best albums, and this song is on the top of my favorite Satriani tracks =)

  • -only a true fan.
