I think racism is horrible; however, it does not change the fact that THERE WERE NO UTTERANCES OF ANY "N" WORD BY THE TEA PARTY PROTESTING THOSE Congressman signing O'BamaScareHealthcare. There was a $100,000 reward offered for video or audio of those claims...NOTHING! John Lewis comes across as we need peace, we're Americans'.... He's a lair! First you tell a lie about a group of people, show no proof (eventhough there were at least 4 cameras rolling), than ask for calm! WORTHLESS!
@truthbtoldUSA Notice he was not asked, "Were you called the n-word at the Øbamacare protest?" The alleged incident was given as a point of fact and then he was asked "What did you think about it." Then notice again, he doesn't say "When I was called the n-word...." instead he says, "I was surprised by some of the things people said, about some of the signs...." John Lewis never said he was called the n-word. A staffer made that claim. John Lewis was never asked to confirm that claim.
and to those who post comments and call John Lewis a n***er.... you guys are patheticly unable to voice your opinions based of facts. your lives are just ... sad. But by the same token... John Lewis disrespects the civil rights movement by trying to use it in this way. His position on healthcare is pathetic, and so he uses the memories of civil rights movement to deflect attention from the real disaster.
Health care bill is still a disaster... "some of the things people said..." Still no one has brought ANY proof that anyone said anything racist. This guy clearly had some very intense experiences when he was younger... but his attempt to compare the recent health care debate to the civil rights movement is insulting to the civil rights movement itself. He is simply trying to deflect attention from this glaring disaster of a bill... it will increase costs, and increast natl debt.
Is this clown surprised by the black guy in Houston, Tx that killed the little black girl in the car with an AK47 just bc her dad couldn't get her out fast enough during the car jacking?
I don't know who these people were who did this. I just watched a video where there was one guy very, very angry about Communist, he was at a Tea Party gathering, got in the interviewers face and threatened him. After he left, a older guy came up and told the interviewer that the majority of the people there weren't like him. The whole group can't be vilified because of a few.
John Lewis is my hero. I recently got into a little trouble because of my civil rights work. People I did not know started referring to me regularly as a "civil rights leader." I thought of him. I said at the end "I maybe a minor league civil rights leader but I can suit up now."
Nothing like he went through. My hero, a brave, generous and forgiving man.
@loudmxr He sold his soul, any crediability he had is used up. I'm still waiting to see the racist tea bag people. THE LEFT ARE THE ONE TRYING TO GIN UP RACIAL BS!
I find the recent behavior in this nation to be extremely disturbing. These Tea Party people probably go to bed at night and dream about starting another civil war. It's quite sad really...
@ed2kou1 Tea BAGGERS are greedy, selfish old bastards who don't give a shit about their country, their children, or their granchildren. They are the useful idiots of the elite 2% of America. The rest of the country pisses on them.
C'mon, Baggers, load your guns. Let's see how far you get. It's not just the majority of Americans that will stomp you to dust, it's the rest of the world. You're irrelevant, ignorant, racist PIGS.
Keep the Tea party out of Congress at ALL COST!!
