I find it funny these experts came out against this particular tax break because it will create budget shortfalls(I agree with them), but they were silent when congress passed a tax break over 15 times as big and had additional costs unlike this particular bill. I question the motives of these economists.
YES, together we beat Obama!!!! Clinton and McCain fans unite!! I'm from Indiana and I voted Hillary today. Obama will be stopped. Republicans would rather face Clinton!!!!
* + * + NEWS FLASH!!!!!!+ * + * + * + * ATTENTION ALL SUPER DELEGATES!!!!+ * + * + * + * + * + * END this WAR in the democratic party!!!!!! Hellary MUST exit the arena!!!!
OBAMA has proved his WORTH and the proof is EVERYWHERE! Hellary can NOT win the nomination! Get OFF your butts and endorse OBAMA A.S.A.P. before the democratic party is DESTROYED by that horrifying WITCH Hellary with her FAT ankles!!! Put her on ICE!!
These experts they speak of indicate that this will likely be just another opportunity for oil companies to profit. It's not going to cost them. Hillary can't make them pay, but she does need campaign funds stat! Wonder who she might ask for contributions?
And also, who even needs experts in the first place. I mean, why go to school for close to a decade studying economics and energy policy and devoting your life to understanding what policy will work and what is beyond illogical when you can just rely on an pro big-oil business republican who make policy from his gut feelings? Come on people, get with the program!
How can you call this ridiculous??!! This guy Mike Duncan said that TRUCKERS are in support of it. I mean, who needs expert economists when you have truckers??
It is arguable whether or not there might be a benefit to the economy IF gas were to drop $.18, most qualified people say it would do more harm than good, but you can at least make a case, & Duncan does. Unfortunately, there is nothing to suggest that the oilmen would pass this credit along, and much, empirically, to suggest they would just jack up the price a commensurate amount. Discussing the tax holiday as if there's a chance it could benefit Joe Six-pack is just a waste of everyone's time.
even if bush did pass it, the big oil companies would raise prices up 20 cents just before the 18 cent fuel break came into effect, we are screwed people, and it is only going to get worse, much much worse. And with the corn fuel deal, do you really think that supply and demand wont come into effect the production and prices aswell, it will, but on a greater scale, as demand for corn fuel goes up it will inevitably effect the price of food, then we starve.
Bush has already said he will VETO it.. so why are these idiot pundits still talking about this gas tax holiday that doesn't have a snowballs' chance in hell of becoming legislation?? Seriously WTF!?
That will also make a difference in truckers driving and a bridge all of a sudden collapse because the money that is used to fix it is used to save most (NOT ALL) americans 30 dollars for 3 months.

People are getting $600 relief checks, and $30 more over the summer is going to make a difference? This is absolutely ridiculous.

yes I agree....Who the fuck takes a $30 Vacation.

How out of touch are these assholes?
It would save the average person $30 over the coarse of the summer.
Who the fuck takes a $30 vacation?

Actually it wouldn't save them anything(not even $30). It would jack up oil prices and jack up demand.
