The father did what that little boy deserved, some parents just need to use that method of punishment in order to reinforce the need for good behavior. In my opinion that was nothing compared to what happened in my household and I'm a female who had a mother for a disciplinarian and I never doubted for 1 sec that she didn't loved me and neither did my other brothers and sisters. I just don't believe the father should of made the video viral. That was just stupid.

I find nothing wrong with the way he's disciplining his son, the only thing I found wrong with this was sending it to WSHH and having his friend join in.. I'm glad to see a father that's involved in his son's life and cares enough to teach him what he's doing in school is wrong. A lot of boys in this day and age needs a father like that, because some are not fortunate to have that.. i hate the thought of beating a child.i hate to admit it but some kids need their ass whooped but that should be a last resort. if the only way you know to discipline your child is with violence,fear or humiliation then you are a bad parent. ideally you should no how to gain respect from the child in as a authority figure in a assertive. way. in my opinion the fathers action were an act of desperation and i disagree with him filming and having his friend around him.

I just don't see how beating a child will teach them anything. It is not a spanking... but a full on aggressive beating with a belt. My thoughts are for the child and how he may be impacted psychologically, emotionally, and socially. Some people were beaten and still grew up into decent adults, while some can't cope or understand what happened to them and they end doing wrong in life.

I disagree with physical discipline that inflicts pain. I believe there are alternative methods that are effective and that don't involve pain and humiliation. Parents can beat children and they still act up and try not to get caught so it's not like beatings are much more effective than alternative methods. As an adult I wouldn't want anyone beating me when I make mistakes and no adult would but it is viewed as acceptable when handling children. I don't get it.

the only disagreement I have is that it was posted on the web, aside from that you have to do what you have to do ......but in the end if it keeps his boy out of jail and makes him a "better man" then the boy will have a better life as a result. what parent wants to see their child fail? and if it sticks (as it is likely to) the boy will get an education and a "chance" to better himself . sometimes it is the only way but at least the father "cares" enough to try to "direct" him good video :)

I don't like the idea of whooping kids, but some kids need their asses whooped b/c it's the only way they learn. Some of them just have a FU attitude--perfectly aware of the consequences. Some kids can get grounded from social activities or get their favorite toys taken away and that be enough. It just depends on the child.
