As a site, DHGate.com is not a guaranteed scam. It is no different from eBay in the fact that there is likely to be genuine sellers selling genuine goods.

The only reason that you get many fakes as bad as this is because it is a mainly Chinese site and China are notorious for their counterfit goods.

If you are careful, DHGate.com can offer fantastic guitars at great prices.

But as long time being musician I learned important thing, if you want to do something on competitive level learn it on proper equipment. It will improve you taste, skills, and you'll have no one and nothing to blame but yourself. Sound and convenience of your musical exercises must be always on top of your pyramid and your performance must climb there too to reach your goal.

@JohnF30Music If you were more accurate in your reading you would probably noticed what I never had an intention to buy GIBSON from china... I was looking for specific chinese made PARKWOOD PWH4 Hybrid, which hard to find in US and Canada. Last time I've seen them in US on sale for $900 and I thought $400 from china would be approximately right value without dealers and customs fee. Thats why I did it. And if you were smart enough you could check my channel and see what instruments i prefer...

I read nothing but complaints about DH Gate in General. At Trade Tang you have a chance to email the seller back and forth and really explain what you want and are willing to pay. I paid $350 for a Fibson Chester Standard model for Slash and man its a great guitar. Only one problem.....a tuner was broken. Also, I already knew the electronics in it would have to be dumped...BUT< I have kept the PUPs. They put out 16 res, NOT bad versus 20 by top of line PUPS.

I have used DH gate, and it IS brilliant, You just NEED to be EXTREMELY careful of the supplier, i have purchased from the site numerous times and recieved excellent guitars for the price

Fantastic video! Like many others, I too have been tempted to order one of the many guitars available on Chinese wholesale sites, but fortunately I never bought one. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but the fact that you shared it and will help prevent more bad experiences hopefully removes some of the sting.

DHGATE is a really good site, you just need to be careful of the person you buy from, if you can get the right supplier you can make alot of money from the site.

Spend the extra $40 and buy an Epiphone SG 400. It too will be manufactured in Asia with comparable components, but at least you are guaranteed to get the right parts, will get Epiphone quality control, and will get a warranty.

I bought a fake gibson les paul black custom from dh gate, only problem was feedback at high volumes, put in ZW EMG's and it is my favourite guitar to play. Plays very smooth, it is my main guitar now over real Gibson. $330 CDN.

wow, I'm sorry for you, $400 for this one is definetely a ripoff!! I bought a chinese guitar for $30, be careful next time when you spend your cash online, unfortunatelly not everyone is like you and me
