She is checking her fundus after she has given birth to make sure that her uterus is firm. This is done so that the patient will not bleed excessively due to the uterus having lack of tone. It is done on all women after they deliver a child and is part of a postpartum (after delivery) assessment.

Their checking for any pain of any sort after having a c-section. Mainly for infection or anything like that.
