Yes, I agree. Thot I was the only person who does not support the killing of children, but thinks that if you're a father w/ three kids, your first duty is to them. Not to another man's son who was playing voyeur, in a window 30 feet off the ground, while his own father was busy negotiating his new role as Most Powerful Man at Court w/ his best friend the king. I think most of Jamie Lannister's evil acts were motivated by his incestual love for his twin sister Cersei. But he was the one who slew the mad King Aerys and hunted down his arsonist cohorts, and also protected his dwarf brother Tyrion - so there are some redeeming values in his character.

In fact only in the series did I realise how similar the Lannister brothers are, though Jaime is obviously a less principled one, in a way. But both brothers are much more sympathetic than their sister and father.I think Nicolaj Coster- Waldau did a great job, and the over-simplification of the character has more to do with the screenplay, rather than with his performance.
