Just watched this movie. The Hughes Brothers are fantastic Directors. The movie was rather slow, but it's still good non the less. It's backed by Warner Bros who always have made darker movies.

@thereallamont, Ya it's sucks pretty hard that most people did not see what was under the surface of this film. There was so much people could take out of it. So far, its one of the deepest movies Ive even seen, and also the BEST movie I've ever seen.

Now, soundtrack is good, not spectacular. Action sequences are great and well shot. Story is kinda stupid - bad guy wants a bible to "enslave" more people, and he will kill for it, and guess who have a bible! And the ending... OMG!

Shortly, Catholic propaganda! (Not to mention some absurdities like Eli's little "problem." - He kills everyone who crosses his path with some cool ninja moves, he shoots without mistakes, and he's.... you know!

4/10 I'm dissapointed.

@FF7ACJW The meaning isnt deep, its very simple: Have faith and everything is going to be ok because faith gives people hope in better tomorrow.

Yes. faith is good and gives you hope, but it never actually physically saved someone (except Eli), am I right?

Maybe I was rough with the word "propaganda", but the point is that this film has so many absurdities that even faith cant explain them! :)

Ofc, if you are religious, you probably see this film from another point of view, and thats ok. :D

@siskomencetic12 I found the meaning goes beyond have faith. It goes away from, religion, also. Learn what's precious as it may so suddenly be taken away. Don't take for granted what you have.

@siskomencetic12 Propaganda's a bit strong, I think. Throughout the entire film, he never wants to kill anyone and is constantly warning people and saying he doesn't want any trouble. Opinions is opinions me thinks. We're all entitled :) Loved it personally :)

@siskomencetic12 Yeah, that's another thing I liked about it. If you want a bit of easy viewing action, this is a great film. If you want something with a bit of a deeper meaning, you'll also find that.

although this is from "The Road" trailer...this WOULD fit this movie very well also.

BOTH are amazing movies. if you want more action and mystery, go with The Book of Eli.

if you want more Humanity, passion, and heart..go with The Road.

The Road deserves Oscars, while The Book of Eli should be viewed on the big screen as well since it is incredible for a "hollywood" movie.
