I own both these wah's and I recommend the BH2 over the Tremonti. The BH2 is more natural sounding and far more versatile because you can switch to the contour wah for a different sound so its two wahs in one. The BH2 beats the Dunlop GCB 95 as well.
Thats awesome dude. I got the Bad Horsie 2 which is far more better than the other. As they said, The Tremonti is based on the Bad Horsie but just added the boost which I don't really need. Nice Reviews dude
Mizike, you are a really huge help! Thinking over which I buy, you´re vid is the best advice I can get!! Ok....-.-...except to play them in a store :) The only question for me is now to compare the Ibanez WD and a Morley.... Hav a nice day!
@brownhog72 hi there im a bassist and i use quite alot of wah. my Morley Volume/Wah had ceased working so i need to get a new one. would u say its worth getting the Mark Tremonti one? I know Rob Trujillo uses one
@bassplayrCL I actually went to guitar center earlier and got me a Tremonti pedal for my bass, and I had just discovered that myself today about Trujillo too lol. I tested it with Call Of Ktulu and it sounds totally beast!
Thanks a lot this vid was really helpfull. Do you know if the bad horsie 2 can be used with bass aswell as guitar because I'm trying to find a dynamic wah that can handle both.
I'm gonna try one soon, but the the "switchless" feature kinda confuses me a bit, if you press your heel to high the wah will turn off? or is it turned of only after you put your foot out of the pedal?
Dude you make the best videos. With these gear reviews theres something I always wonder, do you buy the gear yourself? Or does someone give you the stuff? And also is that an ESP?
finally some1 who does wah demos with distortion! im kind of over my 535q n hendrix wah . any suggestions? i play a lot of heavy stuff n using deans n marshall
i think the bad horsie sounds better in both cases, but either way i'm not a fan of optical circuitry, so i still prefer a fulltone clyde over these :)
i've had the bh2 for about 4 years until it finally began giving me problem on the 1/4 inch output section, thus resulting in static on my clean tone. when contemplating a new wah pedal, i always prefer morley. between these 2 and given my style preference, im goin with Tremonti
dude thank you so much. I was really aiming for the bad horsie but.. I really like the hot tremonti power wah, i find it has a lot more flavor which doesn't hurt :p
@brownhog72 Do you know anything about the wahs that Satch and Vai use? Cos I love their wah tones on tracks like tender surrender, get the hell out of here, for the love of god etc. But I have noticed that Vai doesn't actually use his Bad horsie wahs when playing these songs live on several occasions.. What do you recommend for this sort of style? Thanks man :)
very accurate explanation between the two wah's i prefer the bad horsie for versatilty playing!thanks bro im buying it tom.thats why i looked for the demo.thanks very much again!
I own the steve vai bad horsie 1 wah and i love it but when i bought it i was actually looking for the mark tremonti and where i live everyone either didnt have the mark tremonti or just didnt carry morley all together but i do plan on purchasing the mark tremonti in the future but for now my bad horsie will do just fine
Nice! I own both of these wahs and what I am wondering is how you keep them so quiet hooked together. When I hook any other pedal in line with either of mine they buzz like crazy in the amp no matter what adapters I use, or even if I use batteries. I would hate to see what kind of noise they make hooked together.
maybe auto wah, I dunno, I don't think you can find a wah pedal that effects on high notes as much as the low notes, cuz wah is a treble boost.. and high notes are already has alot of treble.. (I'm not sure that's the reason, just that is what seems logic to me..)
Have not tried the Tremonti but have used the BH2 for several years and has never failed me. It really IS well rounded. You can adjust the contour and level in BH2 mode. Another button turns off these characters and keep the pedal as a BH1. Which to me is better for the clean tone use. Highly recommend this pedal. Wouldn't mind trying the Dimebag Cry Baby from Hell though. Any opinions?
I play metal in a band , and the Tremonti wah does the work pretty god in my solos, my second guitarist has the Bad horsie 2 and that's true works better with clean sounds, I would recommend to get both.
duuuuuude! what a cool and useful video! thnx for posting such great info! I own the Mark Tremonti Wah and I couldn't be happier! I really Like the intro song by Pudding Hogs! it's awesome, and BTW really love your Football jerseys!!! please keep those vids comin' bro! peace out
yo Mizike!!! of course I used to use the Morley pedal all the time. I love the switchless! Of course now I use the crybaby switchless...hell yeah, it screams...give it a shot. I use it on solo's for an eq boost. Just stomp the pedal full on and shred!!!! give it a shot bro...you will love it. Hurry back to Oki...I miss you man!
Kamelot are from Tampa, Florida. Most of the band members are American except for the keyboard player who is from Germany and Roy Khan the lead singer who is from Norway. He is Kamelot's second lead singer. You will have to check them out.
yeah the tremonti sounds awsome but tbh it is rather trebly in the clean mode and i would use it for clean things like jimi hendrix so im guessing the bad horsie is an all round good wah
They are all good...just depends on your taste. I got all three and they all are good in their own right. Jackson is the best all around. Dean has the best necks and body styles, and ESP are more playable.
Whenever I'm looking into some new gear, you're usually the first one I go to.
I haven't been through all of your videos yet, so I'm not sure if you already did a review/comparison, but have you tried the Tremonti signature pickups?
I'm just curious if the hype about them are all they're cracked up to be.
well i really only want his signature guitar. its prolly the best guitar they make. im a singlecut and flying v fan myself. im think of purchasing ibanez's art300 singlecut. comes with active pickups.
nooooooooooooo, i dont se how you dont like prs's but hey ur better than me so it must be working ous for you. but i reconmend that you try a 250 for you close the situtation.
They just don't suit my hand for some reason...don't get me wrong, they are beautiful. The one I had didn't work for me once I started to advance. Just my preference...
hahahaha 99% of the ESP range is aimed at metal. Don't get me wrong, I love ESPs for metal. I have a PRS Tremonti USA which is a singlecut and I'm sure you will have seen him shred on 1 many times
@superjesus117 Wait..you're talking about the PRS SE Series? Those are cheap..but they still cost about as much as a higher end Epiphone..But if you've ever played one of those real high end, unaffordable, Paul Reed Smith's...you'll wish you had the money..they are sick
@superjesus117 umm no... PRS is a much better company than shit ESP. PRS are much better crafted and play and sound much better. You get what you PAY for. And yes I shred on singlecuts all the time. ITS CALLED PRS SINGLECUTs. Ever tried too play an esp? You can't because they are fucking garbage.
I hear what you mean man, the Tremonti wah is extremely hot on the clean, I think I'll get the BH2, not only 'cause it's a Vai pedal, because it's more versatile for clean, great review!
good vid but i suggest you should buy a mic for guitar or use line out on amp to get more realistic sound because i think that this is with a camera mic or some crappy so it doesn't so good... but thanx though :)
There is a video of him on here talking about his guitars, amps, strings, cables and other gear and also playing some stuff. I think it is called Devin Townsend- Instructional Video. There are two parts.
Yes I know both of Devin townsend's bands are not together anymore. He is 36(will be 37 years old soon) years old and is now producing music and spending time with his wife and his baby son.
Depends on how old you are and what kind of job you have. I am 36 years old and I have a really good job. This is my hobby so after I save money, invest, and pay my bills my left over cash can be used for fun. Main thing, don't waste money on cheap gear. Save for the good stuff because you will never get rid of it. Also, don't smoke and drink your money away. Work hard so you can play hard! If you have any more questions let me know.
It might have sounded thin to you because of the pickup configuration I selected. I was using the single coils so I was actually going for a thinner sound with the ESP by selecting that pickup for the blues sound. It has nothing to do with the amp. By the way...the amp is a triple rectifier. By no means is it thin.
Yeh triple rec's are as beefy as it gets. Sry i didnt notice it was an esp dude. I was expecting the fullness of a strat so thats prob why i thought it was thin. Well, that and the pickup configuration. Good demo anyways man. \m/_
No worries bro. That guitar has pretty big sound. The single coils give the thinner sound so it is much cooler for playing the music that soothes the panties off of the ladies!
Have you heard of Devin Townsend? He is a Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He plays guitar and sings for his current band called the Devin Townsend Band which is a progressive rock band and he also plays guitar and sing for another band called Strapping Young Lad( has been on hiatus for a few years now) which is an extreme metal band that mixes thrash and death metal.
hmm i like the bad horsie 2 :P Hey man i really like your videos, and i hope nobody marks me as spam here but if you could check out my video, maybe comment it would be sweet. Im gonna be making more videos soon so yeah man rock on! P.S i want your amp haha
It would've been better if you stepped on both of them and started going up and down like you're on a treadmill!

I can confirm the Tremonti pedal is absolutely amazing.
The pedal is constructed superbly, the optical design is so smooth.
The wah sound is exactly what i'm looking for also,it actually sounds exactly like tremontis solos, especially when doing legatto runs.
Highly recommend

Yea, and the Tremonti PRS is like 4 grand
For about 5-6 grand you can get a custom made ESP
And several ESP's ship with Duncan JB/'59 pickups, perfect for most styles
And I get almost any sound out of my ESP guitars, even loaded with EMG's.
even some decent blues stuff.
PRS guitars are normally like twice the price of ESP guitars, and I find very little difference in quality

@superjesus117 Wait..you're talking about the PRS SE Series? Those are cheap..but they still cost about as much as a higher end Epiphone..But if you've ever played one of those real high end, unaffordable, Paul Reed Smith's...you'll wish you had the money..they are sick

@captainmorgan555
No I'm talking about like a 3grand single cut.
superjesus117 1 year ago
@superjesus117 Nope
gibsongod15 1 year ago
@superjesus117 umm no... PRS is a much better company than shit ESP. PRS are much better crafted and play and sound much better. You get what you PAY for. And yes I shred on singlecuts all the time. ITS CALLED PRS SINGLECUTs. Ever tried too play an esp? You can't because they are fucking garbage.

you should stick the Gearge Lynch Dragon Wah in there to compare against the Bad Horsie and the Tremontti.
The Dragon Wah sounds awesome for distorted work.
eclipseall1 2 years ago
I hear what you mean man, the Tremonti wah is extremely hot on the clean, I think I'll get the BH2, not only 'cause it's a Vai pedal, because it's more versatile for clean, great review!

Thanks for the review mate! Nice one.
wenchiang12 2 years ago
good vid but i suggest you should buy a mic for guitar or use line out on amp to get more realistic sound because i think that this is with a camera mic or some crappy so it doesn't so good... but thanx though :)
Slayer9107 3 years ago
Of all the videos I have done with the same camera, you are the first to complain about the sound. I'll work on it bro.
brownhog72 3 years ago
don't take it offensive or something like that... i just noticed it and to make your vids better i tried and gave you and advise :)
Slayer9107 3 years ago
I'm not offended sir...I'll work on it. Thanks for letting me know. You are the first one to say something and I appreciate it.
brownhog72 3 years ago
ok... though your reviews are really good and i like them :) keep on... :)

Devin Townsend was born May 5th 1972. Were you born the same year?
George656 3 years ago
yes, one month after him. I'm not older than him then.
brownhog72 3 years ago
Dude... this is a great demo. Thanks a lot! 5*

bleedingfly 3 years ago
There is a video of him on here talking about his guitars, amps, strings, cables and other gear and also playing some stuff. I think it is called Devin Townsend- Instructional Video. There are two parts.
George656 3 years ago
I saw it a long time ago. He's cool
brownhog72 3 years ago
Would you consider SYL's music as being a mix of thrash and death metal or a mix of other metal styles?
George656 3 years ago
I think it is a mix of metal styles...good stuff though. Too bad he had to stop.
brownhog72 3 years ago
Yes I know both of Devin townsend's bands are not together anymore. He is 36(will be 37 years old soon) years old and is now producing music and spending time with his wife and his baby son.
George656 3 years ago
I was actually suprised to see that I was older than that guy a while back.
brownhog72 3 years ago
Sup brownhog? What is a good way to get that expensive gear you got. i need to upgrade but im not rich so can you help me.
oh and if you would not mind rating my vids too.

If you have any more questions let me know.
brownhog72 3 years ago
thanks for the advice. i appreciate it.
Derrick7777777 3 years ago
What amp you using bro'? Sounded surprisingly thin considering you were using a Strat!?! You're playing was good tho', so it aint that ! \m/_
bleedingfly 3 years ago
It might have sounded thin to you because of the pickup configuration I selected. I was using the single coils so I was actually going for a thinner sound with the ESP by selecting that pickup for the blues sound. It has nothing to do with the amp. By the way...the amp is a triple rectifier. By no means is it thin.
brownhog72 3 years ago
Yeh triple rec's are as beefy as it gets. Sry i didnt notice it was an esp dude. I was expecting the fullness of a strat so thats prob why i thought it was thin. Well, that and the pickup configuration. Good demo anyways man. \m/_
bleedingfly 3 years ago
No worries bro. That guitar has pretty big sound. The single coils give the thinner sound so it is much cooler for playing the music that soothes the panties off of the ladies!

awesome review!

Thanks for the great review, how can I buy an mp3 of the the Puddin' Hogs intro music? <-- cool!
Justin1524 3 years ago
Sorry bro, that band is no longer alive.
brownhog72 3 years ago
You can check him out on youtube.
George656 3 years ago
Have you heard of Devin Townsend? He is a Canadian guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer. He plays guitar and sings for his current band called the Devin Townsend Band which is a progressive rock band and he also plays guitar and sing for another band called Strapping Young Lad( has been on hiatus for a few years now) which is an extreme metal band that mixes thrash and death metal.
George656 3 years ago
Yeah, I saw SYL back when I lived in Georgia about 10 years ago. Devin is a good guitar player...rockin the skullit!

brownhog72 3 years ago
Will you be seling the Mark Tremonti Power Wah or will you be keeping both the Bad Horsie 2 Wah and the mark Tremonti Power Wah?
George656 3 years ago
I use both of them. The Tremonti is better when playing distortion, but the Bad Horsie is better when playing cleans. So I won't be selling them.
brownhog72 3 years ago
Great review, as always. ^^

Nice Tests ;) Thx!
CukuSk8 3 years ago
mark tremonti just kills, absolutely screams on the pinches and whines on the high notes, has a sweet 'beep' on the low shit
the bad horsie 2 is bad ass too, not as unique sounding, didnt steve vai contribute to it?
all in all, MORLEY PEDALS FOR LIFE
all optical shit for low noise and smooth operation!
incubrian 3 years ago
