ahah wow this videos actually work!!! thank u so much i need it to study chemistry for the cst ... and nothing seemd to work, they are kinda lame but its easier for me to remember and understand .. THANK U
This was played during our chemistry class. Our class couldn't stop laughing. This is hilarious! But still, good video. :) I'm learning to love chem! HAHA.
@jef5525 Helium, with a radius of 32 picometers, is the smallest atom, smaller even than hydrogen. The electron attraction force due to nuclear charge takes a far back seat to the number of electron energy levels an atom has...and helium has only one energy level. It is smaller than hydrogen (37 pm) because of its greater nuclear charge. Cesium, by comparison, has a radius of 267 pm. Though it has a nuclear charge of 55+, it also has 6 principal energy levels. Happy holidays!
First you say gas doesn't lose energy when it hits a wall, but then you say they move faster when it gets hot. How does gas change temperature if not by losing energy to its surroundings as per the laws of thermodynamics? or is that supposed to be about an ideal gas?
Hahaha, I can't stop listening to your songs! Ever since my Science teacher showed us one of your songs, I've can't get them out of my head. I even put a lot on my iPod so I can listen to them everywhere I go. Great job!
i LOVE these videos! i would like to use them in my high school chem class. can i get the embed codes so i can downlaod them? i would love all of them! there is pretty much one for every unit i teach!
@pflower001 Just so happens that within a week I will be taking delivery on 100 copies of my new DVD "Chemistry Classics Collection". It will have all 40 videos in Mac and PC format, as well as all the songs on MP3, lyrics and worksheets for every song, review materials and a Powerpoint that covers the whole class that I put together for Regents Review Live. It will be available from my website, markrosengarten, com
This was used in a presentation on Thermodynamics in my IB Physics class last week...It was brilliant! People have still got it stuck in their heads, lol.

Largest atom should be Helium, not the smallest one...
It is due to the proton and electron attraction force...
