I find blotting your lips with MAC blot film and then reapply works well in keeping your lipstick on longer. I've the Urban Decay however I use Clinique Almost Lipstick (sheer colours) or Bobbi Brown Lip Treatment which are very moisturising.
i have really really dark upper lip compared to my lower....so when i put on my lipgloss or lip stain...it still ends up with dark upper lip and light lower.
i'm young so i'm not really into darker colors..i'd like to try coral and light pinks...do you think the lip primer could help me lighter my upper lip? thanks in advanced~!
@iheartmac2010 oh my gosh thanks for answering back, that means alot. i've been a long time watcher of your video's...i love your honesty about products . i live in washington state as well.
@iheartmac2010 I know this was written a long time ago, but I saw lip primers from the 3 Target designer brands. I believe they are 'Kidd', 'Pixi', and 'Set'. I believe there were between $10, and $20. I haven 't tried them yet, so I can't give any comments on their quality.
Thank u! Actually I don't care that much about the spf...after all that. I just figure if I buy it with it I want it to b delivering what it claims, otherwise what am I paying for. I stay out of the sun so it's not that important 2 me. What I do need is a really good primer that will help smooth and conceal my pores and help my foundation perform. I've tried the ysl for pores (used to like). The porefessional (benefit), do not like. 2faced primed+poreless, not sure yet. What is your favorite?
Hi Pinkie. Thanks for responding. Well about the spf question, someone recently told me that if there is no double + after the spf whatever amount then it is (and I feel lame because I do not remember exactly) lacking in some way. I think I need to look into it a bit more to get my question straight...lol. Anyway, have u used the Mac prep and Prime? And if so which do u prefer, UD primer potion or prep and prime? : )
@PinkCookie62 Not all products with broad spectrum SPF have the ++ shown on the packaging. I think the ++ signifies the broad spectrum, that is protection against UVA and UVB. I'm no expert and no dermatologist so I think if you're really concerned that you should consult a doctor. I haven't used Prep+Prime SPF 50 so I can't compare it to the UD. I will say that the UD DOES NOT have any SPF protection.
Hey there Girrrl. I just got the MAC prep and prime for face, but have not used yet as right after purchase I heard that to b TRUE spf 50 (which MAC claims 2 b) it has 2 b a a minimum ++. So it has to say spf 50 ++. Well I cannot find any ++ on the MAC. Do u know anything about all that? I mean, I think it's important. If someone's using spf anything without ++ and it's supposed 2 have it 2 b real sun protection then it can do more damage then without. Omg 2 b a savvy consumer is work! : )
@PinkCookie62 I think you're asking if the MAC Prep+Prime SPF 50 has broad spectrum protection, which would be protection from UVA and UVB rays. According to MAC, this product does have broad spectrum protection. It isn't just about the amount of SPF but also in making sure you apply it correctly to make sure you get all the protection the product offers.
@LittleMissSpearmint I have problems with lipstick settling into the creases of my lips... Have you figured out anything to help? (It's been 5 months since your comment so maybe you found a product or tip?)
you can't actually compare grams to ounces unless you know the density of the product. for water, 177 grams = 1 fluid oz., so the primer potion would be like 7 times as much....
@rollodolo omg Im going to order the Duwop this weekend ha thats so funny I think Im going to get that and I think im going to get the mac Lip prep and prim
Thanks for this review!! It's interesting because when I went to purchase the lip prep+prime at MAC, the MA kind of told me not to because it's not that good, and she actually recommended DuWop lip primer. Could you do a review on that? Thanks so much! :)
the mac prep and prime is just like putting lip balm on. It doesn't smooth out my lips or anything. I wore it one day with a lip gloss, and the next day without the primer; it felt, looked, and lasted the same.
It seems to me that MAC products are always "even better" than the other brands ! :) Irene for this comparison, I think it's very helpful since I was hesitating between these two products. You ruuuuule ;)
I bought the sedu one time. It was absolutely horrible, I sent it right back. Get a GHD, they're some of them best you can get (depending on which one).
....or if you're looking for a cheaper alternative, I have a Solia. It's affordable and I really like it.
Pinkieladie... Just wondering if you'd tried the UD Ink for Eyes? Colours and concept look great on the website. Hope your all better now, love Tima x
thank you for the rview i <3 your reviews can you do a review/comparison between NARS eyeshadow pencils and MAC shadesticks? I want to know which one is worth buying?
great review and comparison! Ive been looking for something to stop feathering on my lips as its been very dry lately.... mac prep and prime is on my to buy list now :)
i really found this review helpful...i was considering in trying the Urban decay primer but i will try the Mac one instead...I am curious to know if you have tried the Urban Decay eye lash primer? I have tried the mac one and do not like it. also, have you ever tried MUFE smokey lash? if so what do you think of it?
I can't stand the Urban Decay version...it is so drying I feel like I have cotton mouth when I use it...I switched to the mary kay version after I read another reviewer. I think that the mac version is comparable to the MAC version. Had I known the Mac version is comparable in price...I would have purchased that.
2 great reviews for the price of one! Thanks Irene so much. I don't know that I would've considered either one over the other, thanks to your review, I at least now have an option.
do you know of any other products which can prevent feathering of lipstick? my mum is always trying to find a good one. rimmel used to make an amazing one but we've not found one as good since!
hate the urban decay lip primer! its waxy and makes my lips like shed skin..i cant explain it haha but the same happens with cheap lipsticks. i love the prep and prime! its amazing
right on i'm the first to comment....urban decay does not really work for me. i used the 24/7 liner and it smuged!! EVERYWHERE! i do have dry lips so i'm not going to try. BUT the primer potion is what i really do like from them, that is it. thanks for your reviews
