If some one needs an operation that is life threatening they will get it even if they have to go across the borde,r and Canada will pay for it. Yes wait times are longer for non life threationing operations but no one goes bankrupt paying for it, in Canada. We have one of the best health care systems in the world. So stop complaining!

Secondly, with respect to the health care bill, I have a couple of thoughts I would like people to ponder. What was the hurry? Why not have some public debate and input on the bill? Here's a big question I have, why not have several smaller bills with staggered implementation? This would make it easier to determine which things helped lower costs and ease removal of those that don't.

nationalized health care may seem good on paper and like a charitable and kind act but their are other means of giving people health care. you can find specialized plans or companies that may give care to sick or disabled children

And you're not forced to buy a particular plan. You just have to buy a plan. There is no government plan, btw. Just to let you know.
And again, if you are under 400% of the federal poverty level, your healthcare will be subsidized. And some people (I assume those whose costs are too large compared to income) will be exempt from the mandate entirely.

dark7element, If you had read my post, you would know I HAVE PD, so I can relate to other PD patients. The alleged patient was apparently begging for money, playing on the pity of tea bag protestors. IF he has PD, there is a distinct possibility that there is a clinical trial (Free care) that he could take part in. As for his video, unless you are a neurological specialist, you could not diagnose PD from a 1 minute video. It's easier to cast blame than to offer a helping hand!

I have been diagnosed with PD for 10 years, and I would like to correct a few points. First, we are PD patients --not victims! Nobody caused us to have the disease. Second, we are whole human beings who can live full and fulfilling lives. we are not to be pitied. Finally, although I cannot speak for the alleged PD patient in this story, I find it puzzling that he was sitting on the pavement because it is nearly impossible for a PD patient to get up under those circumstances.

Nothing is free. Health care is paid for through taxes and everybody pays taxes one way or another. Every employer also pays a health tax. If some one needs an operation that is life threatening they will get it even if they have to go across the borde,r and Canada will pay for it. Yes wait times are longer for non life threationing operations but no one goes bankrupt paying for it, in Canada. We have one of the best health care systems in the world. So stop complaining!

First, with respect to the video, what the protesters did was very disrespectful and should not have happened.
Secondly, with respect to the health care bill, I have a couple of thoughts I would like people to ponder. What was the hurry? Why not have some public debate and input on the bill? Here's a big question I have, why not have several smaller bills with staggered implementation? This would make it easier to determine which things helped lower costs and ease removal of those that don't.

@lamardarren I live in canada where we have "free health care", while its great to get surgery and neccecary operations for free (not neccasarily free because it adds to your taxes) it is also nice to get sugery right away, you were able to do that in america. I have to wait for a year for my leg surgery because there are so many people in line. People die long before they can have there neccassary operations. Believe me, its not that glamerous

No. We're not Republicans. To them, she deserves it if your income is high enough. To us, or Obama at least, if you can't afford it, the government will subsidize it depending on how much you make. If you are self employed or are in a small business, 35% of the costs of your plan will be paid for in tax credits by 2012. This becomes 50% by 2014.

See, this is meant to make the few relatively wealthy uninsured people pay into the insurance pool, to reduce the cost burden on the poor.

dark7element, If you had read my post, you would know I HAVE PD, so I can relate to other PD patients. The alleged patient was apparently begging for money, playing on the pity of tea bag protestors. IF he has PD, there is a distinct possibility that there is a clinical trial (Free care) that he could take part in. As for his video, unless you are a neurological specialist, you could not diagnose PD from a 1 minute video. It's easier to cast blame than to offer a helping hand!

I have been diagnosed with PD for 10 years, and I would like to correct a few points. First, we are PD patients --not victims! Nobody caused us to have the disease. Second, we are whole human beings who can live full and fulfilling lives. we are not to be pitied. Finally, although I cannot speak for the alleged PD patient in this story, I find it puzzling that he was sitting on the pavement because it is nearly impossible for a PD patient to get up under those circumstances.
