  • Great tune to listen to late at night

  • Truly the most under-rated of all the jazz singers of any era. I stiil have her LP "CHRIS" fifty years on.......RIP Lovely One.

  • When I finally met Chris Connor, a lifelong dream, I told her she had changed many lives with her music. She told me she'd heard that many times and read it many times in her fan mail and she appreciated it. I don't know what I expected but in a way she proved a surprise. Not some hip jazz singer but a very all-American sweetheart type, lovely and calm, totally natural a really with no trace of show business in her persona. And beautiful! She knocked me out!

  • She actually did two recordings of "All About Ronnie" with Kenton. The American single was the second session; the first went on several Japanese C.D.s. She then did the song for Bethlehem, then recorded it live for Atlantic and then did a studio version for Atlantic that got released only in Japan. Every version was different!

  • You an' me Jazz4Joe; you an' me....Remember that "blazing" interlude in the middle of the song when Maynard Fergusen played? Funny how it seems that certain people were "born" to sing certain songs? ( A case in point; Jackie Paris and, "Skylark"..............) miss her...Andre Black

  • Chris and June Christy got us all started.

  • impeccable in many ways. Love the intervals in parts of the vocals.

  • I would have changed my name for this girl in the early 50s.......

  • gorgeous

  • she had me at 'Allllll....'

  • I Love Her!!!

  • Ha, and I just realized I spelled Byrd wrong. I guess I'm always reminded of his album covers.

  • Just heard this on my local NPR station (KCLU). Seemed very familiar, so when I searched and saw the name, Chris Conner, it dawned on me that this was something my parents would listen to when I was very young, early sixties. I 'm finding the same is true when I hear others, then I find it's Stan Getz or Asrtud Gilberto or Charlie Bird, or... Beginning to re-discover some great sounds.

  • Kenton apparantly favored a particular type vocalist.....I think Billie Holliday would have done well with his band.

  • Just been listening to Something Cool, a great tune by the misty miss Christy. This is also a big favourite of mine. A great time for great music, indeed. Respect to you all

  • JUST SUPERB - HER BEST PIECE.

  • Didn't get nearly the recognition she deserved.

  • Lovely song. Lovey singer. Chris made my young adult years more meaningful than it would have been, without her recordings. Miss her.

  • While Miss Christy is still THE cool school grand dame, Chris was really good.

  • My, my, Stan Kenton sure had some fine singers in his time, ( Anita o' day, the misty miss Christy and Chris Connor of course). All 3 were considered the epitome of cool jazz singers, ( along with Julie London). What must it have been like to be around at the time ? One can only wonder

  • @whenjazzwasking I DON'T HAVE TO WONDER IT WAS A GREAT TINE FOR GREAT MUSIC

  • @whenjazzwasking I DON'T HAVE TO WONDER IT WAS A GREAT TIME FOR GREAT MUSIC

  • Oh Lordy, Lordy! She was sooo good.

And now I am so old.

All we get nowadays is bullshit.

  • Such a underated talent undeservedly left from the jazz diva list ( Vaughan, Ella, Carmen, etc.)

You are always 1 of my favs Chris.

  • RIP. You have always been my favorite

  • Stan Kenton could sure pick his female vocalists.Anita O`Day,June Christy,Chris Connor,Jerri Winters,Jean Turner not a bad one amongst them.

  • My name is Ronny!

  • velvety

  • RIP, I loved you from the beginning!

  • i grew up with her song i miss you so all my life .what a voice rest in peace chris. ill always love you. billy

  • RIP.

She really sounds like June Christy, and took over for June in Stan Kentons band.

  • I commented here about seven months ago. Her "All About Ronnie" is truly a classic among jazz aficionados. Now she's gone but she'll live forever in her recordings. Such a dynamite singer!

  • The true "Jersey Girl!"

  • You are beatifule,Chris.Good bye.

  • RIP Chris, we will miss you.

  • RIP Chris Connor. Your "Loverman" and "Moonlight In Vermont" have given me much listening pleasure over the years.

  • Rest in Peace, Chris. One of my first vocal teachers and inspirations.

  • RIP darling Chris. A legendary lady of Jazz.

  • One of the great Jazz singers of all time.

  • Very sexy, smoky, athmospheric. She had/has a marvelous voice. Love it!!

  • Is this the Bethlehem version with the Ellis Larkins Trio? This is very nearly too good.

  • oh!

    すばらしい

  • Chris Connor and June Christy, in the day, were so good!!!!

  • I'm still a June Christy fan first, but Chris was awesome. Grrrr!

  • Chris Connor was my favorite singer in the teenage years,1950's.

  • Chris first sang this lovely tune while with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. I wore out several 78 RPM records of this recording.

  • what a beautiful song...

  • most excellent! thank you.
