Really awesome cover- the quality of your recording is appreciated as well. Elton has said that while him and the band tend to keep the bluesy Ray Charles feel when they play this live, his original intent was a country-western feel.

may i make just a critic.. from my honest opinion.

what is the need of changing sooo much the rythm of the song. you seem to be very talented but i sooo disliked this version of the song. theres no point in making it that different to the exent where it seems like a satire to the ones like you who try to make a cover making a ridicously supid version. thanks

No problem, I'm always interested in criticism as well. When I was first asked to record this song, I hesitated as its such a piano song. I had a lot of difficulty finding a strumming pattern that would work. In the end, I recorded it to mixed reviews (like yours). I seriously do appreciate your view about this, the song doesn't flow as naturally as it should on piano. It is what it is, I certainly respect Elton and didn't intend to butcher it. Thanks for being honest! :)

thanks for taking my opinion about it.. you see, i had the same problem as you when i tried to cover it on the guitar and couldn't either find a good strumming pattern so i just made a really simple one not to complicate and mess up with the song. Besides the pattern is a good version, yours.

surprisingly I find this version better I mean I like it better then the original. In your rendition it is deeper and more a ballad; in couple of shootings of Elton doing it I saw the character of the lyrics was lost in the heap of conventional boogie-dancing piano stuff. and you contributed to the song revealing it. nice singing too and thanks for those useful explanations; you're really a kind man
