@GuerillaGanja Well it's not undeserved, just not pretty. They were the best of the worst (bar SA of course). The reason so many Englishmen, myself including, go on about these things is because the 2003 team was so good. Even my Scots and Welsh friends admit they were bloody good. We just want to see a return to good rugby, and the current side is the closest that England have come since.

All the venom from the other Home Nations doesn't help the situation.

@flashash2k9 Of course league is better, 2 less players on the field means more expansive rugby can be played. The whole reason for the kicking game is 15 players allows easy coverage on the wings and gives far greater risk/reward to teams who kick.

When England are involved in union, there are way too many games finish without a try scored. That isn't rugby as far as I am concerned.

They were poor at the start of the tournament, but they beat both Australia and France on the way to the final; the French were at home having beaten the All Blacks. As for gone to shit- England won the Six Nations this year, beat Australia twice in the Autumn (home and away), and a side of oldies and youngsters put 32 points on the Baa Baas. They're no 2003 team, but they're not shit.
