They started playiing their own instruments on the HEADQUARTERS album. One of the reasons they fired Kirshner was that he wanted to keep using studio musicians.

The song is terrific, a brilliant rocker highlighted by Mike's snarling guitar and Micky's pulsating drumming. The video would work better if it had been a straight up concert performance - why they had to intercut Vietnam footage into this is head-shaking.

Paul, Ironic, this live mix is the mix on the Head Deluxe box. Even though it claims it's the already released live version. The Monkees did this live 7 times onthe special filming concert. If you got your box set, I'd love to hear what ya think....personally I would rather have had the 3rd disc be the WHOLE performance.
