COULD hold. Nuclear capability came off the Bone in the late 90s. But you are right, rotary launchers in all 3 bays could hold 8 SRAMs, B61s, or B83s. With external ALCMs (another thing restricted by START) they could carry another 14 'specials' for a total of 38!!

While mowing my lawn I saw one do a tight turn over my neighborhood and then ACCELERATE back towards an Air Show. I couldn't believe anything so big could be so agile and fast. My jaw dropped and I remember thinking "If we can build something like that, the Russians are fucked...." (It was a long time ago) : )

I was at a NASCAR race in California (Infineon Raceway) and a B1 did the flyover...I thought my hearing would never return to normalcy...this video doesn't do justice of how LOUD these planes are.
