before i started this bypass wiring i tried something that solved the starting problem on my car,,i rolled up a piece of fine sandpaper and stuck it in the keyhole in and out to clean off contacts , and it worked now car starts every time!!,,,jb
@johnnymonjohnny10 Your're a smart guy. Not because you did that, but because you used common sense to figure out a solution. Often times auto techs get lost in the technological mess and loose their way. It is very common to see a difficult solution employed on an easy problem, but we can't blame techs. It is tough to work 12 hours a day then come home to hit the books, videos or any training at all. Good for you and thanks for the post...
@ADPTraining thanksfor the compliment ,im actually a mechanic of sorts ,ive been wrenching for 30 years on everything you can imagine but sorry to say no formal schooling much to my disadvantage ive learned the hard way.. keep the vids coming,,yours are the best,,,jb
@cvmoon3 Yes, you are correct. Not trying to help a thief they must have a key if not the dealer will sell you one at a incredibly high price with the registration. Ha!
I need a solution like this for a 2003 Civic EX that the dealer can't program a key for. The computer was replaced due to the alternator zapping it. They say it's a gray market car and can't help. They say it's Canadian but the car is from California. I have the wire diagram, but don't know if I should run power to the red and blue wire at PCM E27 or ground or what. maybe E3? Please help if you can. Thanks.- Brian Tow to Canada isn't an option for them.
Nope there are now 3 ways to by-pass with the 3rd one by far the easiest yet to do. Here is how. Duplicate the key without the Pellet. Cut the section of key out with the pellet, solder the two white leading from the computer to either side of this pellet. The white wires are in a orange bundle running from the ignition switch to the computer. under steering column. Using the key you had duplicated start the car. Your done. Top that for simplicity. Ha!
Bozo's! Once again engineers over thunk the problem. By-pass VATS without a series of resistors soldered in-line. Take VIN # to GM purchase the key for your car cut out the pellet and solder between wires coming from computer under steering column. Your Done. Start the Car.
Remote kill switches have been proven many times to be more effective than stock security systems. This is due in part to them not being "stock" or predictable in nature. That means it takes a thief more time to find it and that increases his/her risk of being caught. This can deter the theft of the vehicle itself all together. Stock systems or even store bought ones can be studied before an attempted crime by the perpetrator of that crime.

That'll work so long as you still have the original key. Good idea...
