  • ha, I spent WEEKS without service, and never got a tech to the house until I went to the BBB.

  • You realize Verizon can sue you for not informing them you were going to record the call, worse still, you actually posted it! Yes, you have to tell them BEFORE the conversation. You better hope they don't nail you because you have NO legal right to post this nor any recourse if they do decide to sue you. Someone like William Peterson getting this, what wuld you do then?

  • continued - Also... if we can successfully run all of our diagnostics, we actually notate this on your account and the technician sees this prior to arrival which lets him know what has been ruled out giving him a general idea of where to look first. Just wanted to pass that on to you, granted you are in a different region, and I'm not even sure if you are working with FiOS or DSL, but the steps and tests should be quite similar. I just remember protocol and policy from a few years back :)

  • @StephanieAnn04 Was DSL, wasn't the first time ive had issues with them actually. And i was just ready for a change.. Went back to cable. may cost a little more, but no issues :P

  • Dispatches to your home cost Verizon appr. $300. The tech support agents are required to run every possible time consuming soul sucking test possible to isolate the issue and also attempt to run commands and have you perform hands on troubleshooting. This has to be documented onto the ticket that is filled out during your call which can be pulled up by our specialists who make sure that agents aren't needlessly sending technicians to customers homes simply to get the call.

    this is how call centers politics works

    there are basically three layers for customer support with three different levels of power

    first are the techies with basic power only to fix the issue thats bothering you ( if its real that they can) then there are the customer support they have more power but they are trained to give as little as they can to the customer ( i explain later)

    then there is retention....

  • did you inform her that you where going to record the call cause if not congrats matt you just broke the law you have to inform someone you are recording them unless they are in a public place then its fair game. Just giving you a heads up i record companies all the time i just ask them if i can which you must crafty choice your words wisely cause nobody wants to be recorded but they will let you if the feel pity upon you . Kinda like mister T ..........I PITY THE FOOL

  • @ConsumerRelief Actually, The laws in North Carolina only require that one party is informed that the call is recorded. If that party is the recording party (Me) Then its legal.

    Different laws for Different states :)

  • you'd be suprised at how much verizon owns, if I remember correctly comcast is a part of their network also.

  • New Modem Came today, Spend another 2 hours on Tech Support. With no luck. A total of 8 hours on Tech Support in the past 4 days... I called back and canceled the service.

    However i was offered a 50.00 Credit for unused time, and no Disconnection charge, so im either going to owe 20.00 or their gonna owe me 10.00. Not sure yet...
