  • the good the bad and the nabokov

  • @hockeydude. It didn't cross the line so it's not goal idiot

  • So it's a GOAL 8)

  • I'm not a sharks or stars fan because they both suck and red wings rule but the puck was in the very back of his glovel

  • @HockeyDude1340 And you suck cock :3

  • @HockeyDude1340 nice pointless observation you idiot. As a hockey fan I'm pretty sure your Wings have lost to the Sharks 2 years in a row. I'm also sure the Sharks have beaten your Wings twice in the 2 games they've played this year. Obviously the Red Wings don't "rule."

  • @HockeyDude1340 yeah any body with an IQ above 7 can figure that one out, you bumbling oaf,

  • @HockeyDude1340 Lol Sharks eliminated Detroit.

    You mad?

  • Magic hands. Great save!

  • yes, thats biraculous alright

  • they still lost

  • Save of decade

  • it was even better because it saved the sharks from getting kicked out of the playoffs

  • i miss u nabby to bad ur on the NYI now

  • i miss nabokov :(

  • What luck

  • that was THE BEST save EVER. nabokov is the best player in the NHL.THE islanders dont deserve him.

  • is it me or does San Jose always have European goalies?

  • @AcHtUm30 Steve Shields, Jeff Hackett are two I can think of that aren't Euros. Didn't Mike Vernon also play for them?

  • @supercooled also Kelley Hrudey. That was kind of an ignorant statement saying that they only have erupoeans lol.

  • Wow, the game actually went on to 4OT after this... and the Sharks still lost. That must have sucked.

  • got the chills, not even a Sharks fan xD

  • totally a better goalie with the the sharks, Miss ya nabby!

  • best save ever

  • good thing he put his glove where the puck was going

  • @tjackson76 uhhh...isn't that the point of a glove save...?

  • @xXAverageDudeXx he was already coming across with his glove before it even left his stick, so it's not like he saw the shot coming to make the save.

  • Best five glove save Ive ever seen, regardless of situation, are 1. Marc-Andre Fleury vs Jason Blake 2. Marty Brodeur in his 500th win vs Briere 3. Ed Belfour diving back against Detroit 4. Nabokov in OT on Richards 5. Antero Niittymaki vs Patrik Elias.

  • @theatlantisrise Fleury's was dramatic because he was lying on his side, but also consider that a difference between that save and this one is that one was a Blake backhand, the other a Richards slapshot.

  • sharks or stars, which team finally won the game? sorry, I dont know much about nhl history :<

  • @Schmokk88 the stars won the game in the 4th overtime period. I remember watching this whole game

  • Tim Thomas's stick save against Tampa in last years playoffs was a lot better!!

  • Varlamov save more better!

  • goalie: :D i saved it

    player: -.- hacker

  • J Quick is the best goalie now I think

  • At 0:56, all I could do was shake my head.

    Best save since Kirk McLean.

  • to the man that posted this go watch rock'em sock'em 6 the goalies in there blow away an goalie that has come out in the past 10 years, i made a save like that in shinny once and you dont see me playin for the sharks :oP

  • Insane save, 100% pure goalie skills - 0% luck

  • its in the fucking net!

  • @TheREDzoneRush what the hell r u smoking

  • @locofan39 the fucking glove went a little over the line

  • 71 Dallas fans, obviously.

  • I'd say Cujo's save against Modano and the stars was even better,,,,OT game 7 save...

  • @bokemow1983

Um, maybe considering the circumstances but I'd say Nabokovs was better

  • @bokemow1983 It was against Joe Nieuwendyk bud.

  • nabokov is the best

  • Почему он в СКА так не играл?

  • ive seen betteh

  • Aside from the save, that saucer pass was pretty sick.

  • God look at him just adjust his jersey, no bragging from Nabby. Class all around

  • That is on of his better saves, no offense but there are better.

  • It is a good save, but not really intended, as many saves aren´t. Goalie holds his glove up, Player shoots inside the glove. Luck and misfortune in coherence. That save doesn´t make you a good goalie. Though I´m not judging his "real" goalie skills ;)

  • @HDWF your really saying this is luck? thats an amazing save by nabby and that is sure skill no luck intended on that save.

  • @Datsoccerkiid13 he had his hand there before the shot came. if you´re talking about second sight skills you may be right. If he shot higher or lower it would have been a goal. and the glove wouldn´t have been there to save it.

  • @Datsoccerkiid13 A lot of saves are largely luck. You play the percentages. Sure, Nabby read that, and made an amazing play to reach across like that, but if his glove was a tiny bit up or down, or if he guessed wrong where the puck was going, it would be a goal.

Don't get me wrong, one of the greatest saves ever, but there is a lot of luck in these kinds of "emergency" saves.

  • sick!! but not the save of the decade

  • where's pierre mcguire and his orgasms when you need them?

  • I fucking love Chris Cuthbert. Makes the games so much more exciting. Best play by play ever.

  • wasn't even save of the month worthy, decade?! rolf stfu.

  • @rsacc4sale1 are you blind or just stupid?

  • @Fleury292929 seen way better and they are all equally as lucky kid.

  • @rsacc4sale1 Just leave the judging of athletics to the people who don't sell world of warcraft accounts or whatever all day.

  • Notice how he just walks out of the net like its nobody's buisness what a badass

    i miss nabby

  • Nabbbby!!! Oh how I miss you!

  • rofl, did everyone in the audience think it was goal?

  • @MarkusSsZ I think the stars fans thought it was in. And the sharks were celebrating the save. AT THE SAME TIME!

  • Still a phenomenal east-west save though

  • Glove saves may look pretty but shots along the ice (especially low stick side) are the hardest to stop.

  • @Douger666 Nonono. Low glove side. you have to rotate your stick to get a piece of it, so you wont give up a worse rebound. Its hard to twist your arm in that direction.

  • @JamesHackSk8s Well it's really up to the goalie. I'd say most goalies are vulnurable five hole or low stick side...I understand rebound control with the stick...However if you're square to the shooter you can pose butterfly and deflect a low glove-side shot easily to the corner....I personally find low stick side to be quite awkward.

  • Best fucking save of all fucking time

  • This is why Richards didn't re-sign in Dallas

  • Набоков - красава

  • The greatest glove save ever. As a Devils fan, trust me, I seen Marty make some pretty god ones.

  • @numan1 How can you say this is the best after seeing Brodeur rob Gagne. Clearly a better save.

  • @numan1 tim thomas. that's all that needs to be said.

  • @numan1 Roy made many nice ones though..

  • @numan1 tim thomas made the best one ever last year aganist toronto

  • @numan1 tim thomas made the best save ever last year

  • Круто!

  • wish u were back nabby!

  • i miss you nabby!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tsharks11 sucks how san jose couldn't manage to sign him. :( its because he's taken the blame for some playoff failures but the same could be said to marleau and thornton.

  • hes coming to detroit

  • @tobinbryan no he is coming to New York Ilanders ... so bad....

  • @PaperosMaperos no he rejected them.

  • @tobinbryan no hes not hes currently signed with the islanders

  • one of the best saves ever!! That took alot of skill...

  • fuck what all of you say, you don't know shit, this was the save of the decade.

  • I miss Nabby :/

  • Nice as hell!

  • good save, yes. save of the decade, not by a LONG shot.

  • @sultanofsick whats your pick?

  • @Dreadlord67

stanley cup finals 06, Ward gloves one off the line in a 3 v 1 against edmonton

there really isn't a good youtube clip of it unfortunately

  • @sultanofsick watch?v=Muol4-oEFnc, and a shitty one with replays: watch?v=XFrvP9G-rAg

  • i miss nabby.... :(

  • This was the best goaltending performance ever this night... You guys forget that this was Game 6 or 7 and Turco made 61 of 62 save ;)

  • nothing compared to tim thomas

  • @shoykhetm I love Timmy, but needs to score a goal if he wants to be deemed one of the goalie gods haha

  • that was a goal

  • that s not that great i have seen hundreds of those

  • I wish Nabby would take a pay cut and go back to the sharks but it won't happen. :(

  • omg omg omg what a save in playoff and overtime

  • omg omg omg what a save

  • So now it just goes to show that nabby wasn't the problem with sj winning a cup because if you ask me niemi is a damn good goalie and they still couldn't get the job done, so fuck all the haters go nabby and hopefully you go some where where you deserve to be

  • @salmon020 Nabby was horrible in the CHI vs. SJS series so I do put some of the blame on Nabby. If the Sharks had Nabby this year im not sure if they would have made it past the first round. Nabby is a good goalie but he is also one of the most overpaid goalies ever. The problem with the Sharks this year is that as much as I hate to say it...Canucks were better. I am so happy we have Niemi because Nabby won't win SHIT!!!!!!

  • Lolled hard when I compared his playing in WC 2011 and this :D:D:D:D:D

  • great stop but not even close to the save of the decade

  • @MysteriousMrX Not even close? That's one of the greatest saves of all time.

  • @Hookinem I say its a great stop but still.... a "save of the decade" in my opinion needs to be special, and nabokov just doesn\t have that flair

  • @MysteriousMrX your just mad nabby didnt go to your team

  • @efrainthegreat Not even close sir. Like I said, solid stop, but not the "save of the decade". I've seen a hundred other saves like that in the last couple years. Hell the best one I can think of now was Dwayne Roloson robbing Cheechoo who was open in the high slot being set up for a one-timer by Joe Thorton. Ridiculously flashy glove save. And better than this one easily. (And since I'm sure I'm the only guy on this thread who isn't a huge san jose fan, i hope everyone replies to me)

  • @MysteriousMrX did u see how close the puck was to crossing the line? save of the decade for sure.

  • @MysteriousMrX you have to be retarded to say rolosons save was better. he had way more time to set up before cheechoo shot. and if youve seen "hundreds" of better saves like that in the last couple years then you need to stop smoking that dust cause its making you stupid. good thing everyone is backing you up on being a sj shark hater. not.

  • @billyp01 Never said I was a shark hater, and for the record I don't smoke anything. Just said that this save doesn't have any business being called "Save of the Decade" when there are much better saves out there, which is still true. End of Story.

  • @Hookinem That wasn't special? That was in game 6 of the semi finals in overtime... How is that not special? Yeah they wound up losing the game, but that still could have got them to game 7 and who knows what would happen from there. Also, in the quarter finals against calgary, he made a similar save on Owen Nolan. Nabokov is the definition of flair.

  • probobly my fav save of all time!!! dude just brilliance..........

  • if you guys have watched belfours save its weird because its nearly the same type of save off the same type of shot from a player with the number 91

  • Sharks play a song written by a pedo after every goal. WTF?

  • It's fantastic!!!

  • you can see the puck in the glove. that was a save

  • Comment removed

  • People don't understand perspective.

  • @Yougimpytube As in: that was probably a goal.

  • beaty but it was a his mistake(i mean nabokov) and his as it says return fuckyeah)

  • crazy!

  • Can't believe at all of the comments bashing the Islanders. I'm a West Coast Canadian, but if your team were struggling like the Islanders were before the All-Star break and an All-Star goalie popped up in the waiver line with a ridiculously low cap hit, wouldn't you claim him? I'm sure Holland's intention was to first bring him back to the NHL then sign him during free agency, but Nabakov is an idiot for refusing to play and not proving he's still got the form.

  • chris cuthbert is the man. that's how you call a game

  • It's not a lucky save, Nabokov has done a really quick right to left move so he was well located for the save.

  • Набоков красава!!!!

  • and a bright future*

  • Not a islanders fan but they had a good second half a bright future

  • Got some bad news, the Dielanders toll'd evgenis contract now he has to play for them next season or hes basically done... Fucken useless cunt garth snow is

  • i hate when goalies make an amazing save but then they just get up soo fast to showoff..

  • @MrDomination11 explain.

  • @Giberful like after he made the save, he got up fast to showoff

  • richards made 62 accounts!

  • @arvid14 added 8 more!

  • @arvid14 you have made 66 accounts to thumb ur own comment!

  • shit i wish the wings would have gotten this guy, fuck the nhl !

  • Bobrovsky is the only Russian goalie I like :) so Go Bob

  • Class act until this whole Islanders debacle. But I'll always love you Nabby, for the years of service rendered.

  • STARS SUCK!!!!

  • Apperently you haven't Marc-Andre Fleury play..he makes saves like that like 5 times a year.

  • @souljaboytellemfreak fleury has nothing on nabokov

  • @megadead420 type in three of these videos and then tell me that again..

    1. Fleury save on Jason Blake

    2. Fleury save on Jamir Jagr

    3. Fleury save on Chris Kelly

  • resembles the save Rinne made on Kopecky

  • that game was the best game EVER, even though we lost in 3OT.

  • @previnsnaidu1

    fuck yeah, wasn't it 4OT?

  • as a collegiate goalie, I model my play by studying Nabakov, but i cant believe he makes this save... unless someone has suited up in 60 lbs of gear, and gotten on ice, they will never be able to appreciate the level of athleticism it took Nabby to slide over the far post so quickly while still being in the butterfly. amazing.

  • That's highway robbery. Better yet, grand larceny save.

  • @asnmvet08

you should study how to spell his name

  • @santahchrist wow, that's an intelligent comment, ass hole. why don't you try contributing to the conversation instead of just talking crap

  • @asnmvet08

it was a joke, shake the sand out of your vagina.

  • @asnmvet08 Dude, so true.

  • @asnmvet08 That's why he gets paid the big bucks in the best hockey league in the world. (Well maybe not right now)

  • I remember watching this live. The best save I've ever seen in my life.

  • very nice

  • 62 people are dallas fans.

  • Stars fan here....I wouldn't say this if we ended up losing but that remains the best save I've ever seen.

  • Cool

  • 62 people didn't see him block the first shot with his skate.

  • At 0:12 his face is like, "Ya I just did that shit bitch"

  • That sound at 0:14 was me jizzing every where.

  • i was watching this game (sharks fan) as soon as i saw that shot go off my heart sunk and i was basically watching a goal to be in slow motion. Then all of a sudden this white thing that looked like a glove just stole the puck. I could not believe nabokov made that save.

Only thing that would have made it sweeter is if the sharks won!!! well no use complaining, but definitely one of those saved that no one could have seen coming.

  • PUT YOUR HANDS DOWN FUCKERS.

  • Comment removed

  • nabokovs a beast

  • I remember watching this game live, I literally jumped off my seat when he made that save. Too bad the Sharks eventually lost.

  • @napalmfred same....

  • I can't believe there's no Sharks feed uploaded of this save. I want to hear Randy Hahn say "Nakobov with a save for the ages" again.

  • So good save that he doesnt play in the NHL anymore, everyday NHL save T_T

  • @ThomaTo66 lol

  • its too bad he caused that play

  • Puck crossed the line in my opinion.

  • that is without a doubt, regardless of the situation, the greatest save that has ever been made. wow it still gives me chills.

  • @poopshoot12345 This was as tight of a situation as you could get. This was in the playoffs with the Sharks facing elimination, in overtime. Unfortunately they ended up losing in the FOURTH overtime...
