guys, back in college, we had spanish classes... but english is the 2nd main language and we're fortunate because we also need to adopt....wherever you go, pinoys wont be left behind, bec. we understand the international language. spanish is cool but tagalog is our very own ^_^ GOD BLESS
well i understand your point of view, but as a Filipino, we cannot make spanish our language. We are not spanish BUT pinoys ^_^ but we're very fortunate to know spanish language. god bless
In December 2007, President Arroyo signed a directive in Spain that would require teaching and learning the Spanish language in the Philippine school system starting in 2008.
gracias para el vídeo! Es bueno, tu gusta las filipinas... Perdon para mi Castillano... jeje... Hope you come back again and visit! Viva Las Islas Filipinas! y Viva España!
oh... Sorry.. I was off the hook when I read the comments on your video. I though it was Spanish, But then again, I understand some of it.. hehe Portuguese and Spanish have big similarities... Thanks amigo! :)
PS,
Our country was discovered by Ferdinand Magellan, a Portuguese for Spanish Government. :)
I've heard about the spanish colonization. It's strange most of you there have spanish lastnames but almost nobody speaks that language...well someone has explained that to me already :)
yeah it is sad that most of us can't speak the language anymore (it's america's fault, they impose on ENGLISH as a second language). We can understand spanish though, but the person who speaks fluent spanish should talk to us in a slow pace. Our present government is planning on re-instating Spanish as our national language, with the help from Instituto Cervantes and other Spanish teachers from Spain. Our government officials are fluent in spanish, that's why Philippines is still in Latin Union.
I am living now in europe and I think that if we have learned Spanish aside from English, it is better! My language classmates from Africa, have a chance to choose whichever languages they want to learn: from French, German, Spanish, Portuguese , and English! I wish we had (during my time) that privilege ... It is better to know more than one foreign language. I tell you, ENGLISH doesn't help you all the time especially fi you work abroad and here in rich continents such as Europe :P
If you have read our history books and analyze them carefully, it is not solely America;s fault. The Spaniards have social-issues and those who were educated or from SPanish-FIlipino family were only able to get proper European education. That is why Jose Rizal wrote his books in SPanish and not Tagalog, to target Spanish audience to be heard out of the existing discrimination issues in our country at that time. Alot of LAYMEN FIlipinos do not know how to speak Spanish at that time.
In our history, SPanish is taught to rich and well-known people preferably. That's why not all people of the islands know to speak Spanish. Besides that time, the Spaniards prohibit most of the brown-people (that means the laymen people of that time) to mingle with them unless you're of spanish-blood or mix-breed. SO it was hard for the laymen to be educated. Only those who were lucky enough were able to.
i luv ur honest video compilations... philippines is not really a bad country, i agree that its actually a beautiful country, its just unfortunate that thousands of filipinos from rural areas r coming to manila and live along the streets and become squatters.
You really make me miss home!! Thanks for the memories. A lot of the places you showed I had visited. I stayed there for a month but wish I had more time.
