  • Pavement always put me in good mood

  • alternative video is better , beautiful tune..

  • Also Malkmus is clearly impersonating Morrisey in this video

  • Damn, the quality is great for being uploaded in 2006

  • this is a good song, but they're old stuff is better.

  • You kiss like an Iraqi.

  • this song is so beautiful I want to marry it. But "spit on a stranger" is also so beautiful that I would marry both of them and have two families like those bastards that I sometimes watch in the news.

  • relationships, HEY HEY HEYYYY

  • bob's charles barkley jersey shows he was a true bro back in 1999.

  • This album? Good times.

You need to just relax and not think about anything? Pop this sucker in. I'll never understand the bad reviews. It may not have the grit that the previous ones had before it, but still, it's an amazing swan song.

  • @ZyxthePest AMEN.

  • My heart flutters when SM kisses the ground.

  • @4991evoli i agree he is quite the dreamboat in this video

  • Bad girls ARE always bad girls...

  • this has been my favorite song for years; i listen to it on repeat for hours. hands down the most comforting song i have ever heard. i love it so goddamn much.

  • the best part is they are not even acting

  • less is so much fucking more

  • Now I want to play crazy golf again :-)

  • I like Stephen's body language :D.

  • This is amazing

  • Correction* I've Always wanted to smoke pot with the whole band! :)

  • I've always wanted to smoke pot with Steve.

  • Just heard this song on How I met Your mother.

    Ahhh... Pavement, best band ever....

  • "Relationships, hey, hey, hey," is one of the best Pavement lines ever

  • does someone know where they shot this?

  • @Mynameispigeon "This is the former putt-putt course on the corner of SE 122nd and Division in Portland, OR. It closed a few years ago and is now a tire shop. I don't know anyone who grew up on the east side of Portland who didn't have at least one memorable night at this place. So sad to see it gone..."

  • The major leagues are never interested in music this good.

  • mmm slacker pop

  • But did you hear about Blue Zoltan getting fired?

  • Am I wrong in thinking this is kind of a pisstake of Morrissey?

  • @livershot

yeah the sweater and the flowers

  • @livershot

i think Pavement would piss ON Morrissey, not try and sound like him

  • bet it was extremley akward filming this.

    Good none the less

  • @JurricaChiannaNycole It's better with the awkwardness, makes it more human and relatable.

  • Edwin van der Sar?

  • 9 people are in the minor leagues

  • @professionalkillergk and they signed 2 more!!!

  • I stumbled on to this song a few weeks ago, then promptly bought all of Pavement's discography. This is still my favorite. The guitar and the atmosphere is absolutely unbeatable.

  • @tribestros You really bought the whole discography due to this one song? *wow* - wise decision...it took me quite awhile to digest their stuff, but it's worth it.

  • Me too. Is he gay? Hehe!! Joking. I really, really loved this song when it was released, and it's still awesome: )

  • Major Leaks.

  • GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant, simply brilliant!

  • Like I said, no body gives Pavement the credit that they deserve...

  • @MrtheEstrada

Right on, it really sucks, i mean here i am a chink in India and these guys are from the U S of A who are into indie music and all that jazz, rhythm&blues. but they never ever seem to have heard of Pavement, well Sebadoh and Guided By Voices too. guess it is the commercial thingies4them like the shins, death cave for cutie and yucks,Taking back Sunday??????

  • @MrtheEstrada What do you mean "nobody gives pavement the credit they deserve"? That's some pret-indie "so underground" garbage right there. Two of the biggest rock critics on the planet, namely the music critic for The Village Voice and the Senior Editor of Allmusic guide, called Pavement "the best band of the 90s." If anything, they get too much credit. They're a good band, but, god damn, they're not that good..

  • @saintsithney

another creed partisan, speaks for itself

  • love the split second frame of SM dancing with his stick @ 0:33

  • I love when Mark Ibold is playing bass and just looks at the camera and smiles.

  • Glad they reunited. Just saw Cracker (Camper Van B) perform in Portland. It's nice to see my gen x bands perform live. Makes me feel 20 yrs younger for a minute or two.

  • @skynug but Mark is playing with Sonic Youth?????

  • You kiss like a rock, but you know I need it anyway

  • What a sad song. x

  • haha. steve is so goofy.

  • Okay. Pause at 0:29, and try to tell me that Stephen doesnt look like Woody from Toy Story. O_O

  • @TheBensont123 haha, he sorta does.

  • @TheBensont123 hahaha yes. YES!

  • This is my favourite Pavement track - its too bad they didn't play it on their 2010 tour when I caught them! This also cracked my list as one of the 5 most inspirational songs on my blog

  • feeling nostalgic for the 90s now... i want to hang 3:10 up in my room!

  • there is zero ego in pavements music, as in ever instrument does as little or as much as is needed

  • relationships hey hey hey

    nuff said

  • baita som

  • I always think Steven Malkmus sing about soccer teams, but he´s american. What could Steven Malkmus sing when it´s not about soccer??

  • am I the only one depressed by this song?

  • PAVEMENT is love!

  • @prozacpeople well, God is love and Pavement are gods so, yea, I guess Pavement is love :)

  • Awesome music and amazing vocals...

  • anyone know if they played this at any of their reunion gigs yet? They didn't at mine (Amsterdam) and I haven't seen a setlist where they did...

  • @GreyWithCreamium not in prague

  • Twilight was great ! watch it @ twilight-now/./com

  • What are the lyrics about????

  • i really want malk to cum all over my lips & hair right now...

  • why cant most modern bands be this good man

  • @jagsrule99

theyre all in it for money and fame, my man. we just got to treasure this classic stuff.

  • @jagsrule99 because man, my other band mates haven't shown themselves yet. lol

  • i love you stephen malkmus

  • saw them a month ago and even after a ten year absence they absolutely piss all over everyone else

  • this is what the music is about to have a great time range life man...

  • Ben Gibbard wakes up in the morning and cries because he can't write this song. Malkmus gets it on the first attempt and moves onto other styles without breaking stride.

  • @glensonville I like Ben Gibbard but compared to Malkmus he's a cocksucker.

  • @glensonville Who the fuck is Ben Gibbard?

  • @glensonville Why Gibbard? What happened with them?

  • major leagues, wowo wowo wowow wowo wwo wow wwo wow owo wow wo wowo i need it anywhere. lets hope we make it.

    flowers rule

  • The Fall's a stellar band.///Mark E bitches about everything ,that's just how he talks.

    Hell,it's how he sangs,as well

  • The Fall are a superb band. Mark E bitches about

EVERYTHING, that is just how he talks.

  • 2:35

stephen malkmus is one of the few men who could possibly make me go gay if they tried.

  • @darrius54 Haha, spot on mate. Tumbs up there (so to speak).

  • @darrius54 yall gay lol

  • @darrius54 WTF is wrong with you guys? lol u should check "Tomboy-It's OK 2B Gay". That would definetely make you go gay.

  • Comment removed

  • @darrius54 He is married and just had a daughter, but hey if he makes you go gay because he can write good lyrics...

  • @darrius54 i am gay and sometimes feel like the only gay pavement/sm fan in world. lol

  • @brownbryank I doubt you're alone anymore. No one can resist that deviled brow

  • @darrius54 I know how ya feel

  • HIMYM !!

  • Pavement = One of Best Bands Ever!

  • Surely you mean THE?

Seeing them again after 13 or so years in May. YAY!!!

  • reminds me of the last summer in the 90's..sitting on the porch and drinking lemonade in the hut sun..i dunno why..maybe it's the sad element of the song that makes me nostalgic.

    bring back the 90's!

  • Comment removed

  • this music video is so poorly made that its awesome, i cant stop thinking about!

    Pavement = Best Band Ever

  • yeah pavement is the best band ever

  • For some reason, this video makes me wanna go play mini-put while being dam high.. xD

  • excuse me ppl, any recommendations for pavement? i been thinking of downloading their album

  • @sayatakpunyanama

Easy answer really: You want all of them!

"Slanted & enchanted" (debut album, raw & genius)

"Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain" (Prob biggest hit, cool & classic)

Wowee Zowie (Edgy awesome and odd)

"Brighten the Corners" (Return to cool with some classics)

And..."Terror Twilight" (break up album, lyrical genius, more rounded but maybe my favorite)

  • Sasquatch 2010 anybody??

  • Fall rip-off merchants but this really is something else

  • lol, the Fall having been bitching for years, even though Malkmus has credited them with being a major influence. It's sorta like calling eric clapton a hack 'cause hendrix influenced him. get a life, and listen to great music...like pavement.

  • evo - show me the quotes and/or any source and fair enough - i'd change my mind. never heard him say owt. i'm sure you know influence is different than being a 'rip-off merchant', irrelevant point. i have a life, and was listening to pavement, hence the comment.

  • I read it on the itunes bio of the band, and i think it also mentions it in the dvd "Slow Century". btw, i liked the Fall also

  • Lyrical genius....

  • bad girls are always bad girls.. let them in.

  • Have they announced any more dates yet? They better come to Denver or Boulder!!

    Bob N.--You Rock!

  • Boulder? They come to visit when they can.... :)

  • any one know of any canadian tour dates possibly? it would be amazing to see them

  • Malkmus makes me melt!

  • what a clown

  • tune

  • Fucking A.

  • Fuck alternative music since the 90s, what a disappointment. Bowie wannabes and Devo rip=offs. The bands in the festivals now could all die of carbon monoxide poisoning for all I care.

God bless Pavement, superchunk, Fugazi - it could all come back but will it compare?

  • Totally. The music of the early '90s, before all this pretentiousness and bad facial hair, was THE best. Bands like SP, Hum and Local H were to one side, and lo-fi glory like Pavement was to the other side. And the radio was playing stuff like Crash Test Dummies, Nirvana, etc. Hasn't been a better time for music since.

  • What's wrong with Nirvana? In Utero was a fantastic album.

Also, saying there are no good alternative artists in the 2000s is ridiculous.

  • The best song on the best Pavement album.

  • You are completely correct.

  • how i met your mother

  • fuck. amazing.

  • Wow, Malkmus is gorgeous in this video.

  • My bro and sister in law has got tickets for their gig in new york. SLIGHTLY jealous.

  • i hate them both JK. Sold out in 2 minutes, I never had a chance :p

  • Hopefully it's a broader tour with a regional stop in the Southeast. There's no band I'd rather see get together. Imagine thier takes on the old stuff, plus years of maturity. Should be damned interesting.

  • Bring on the Major Leagues.... Pavement is back!

  • cant believe theyre rele comin back.

damn i hope they come to Chicago

  • No new material planned, just a tour. Tix go on sale tomorrow for the opening show. Plenty of time to die inbetween now and then, nut I'm willing to take the risk!

  • MASTERPIECE

  • I love pavement...he could be singing..

    "I resemble Christover Reeves"

  • oh my god man, pavement are absolutely amazing. this song is just beautiful. stephen malkmus is an unrecognized genius.

  • I just love how their songs rock and they seem absolutely effortless when it comes to performing them and the videos are so very amateur but amazing (because so).

  • pavement is probably the most under appreciated band ever pavement rules

  • I love this video and this song and this band. Probably my favorite band in the world =]

  • pavement gives me orgasims

  • HIMYM!

  • I hate that video so much, the alternate video with that guy with headphones singing while watching a fight is much better

  • Bad girls are always bad girls...

  • Thank God for that.....

  • @TheSkyInLucy yeah they is

  • most pavement videos are like, pavement playing, pavement fucking around, and malk frolicking in a field. but they're all still great.

  • oh, i forgot ... all that, plus mark ibold looking immensely happy. good stuff.

  • pavement rulless like no other

  • ahaha this is great

  • magic christians chew the RIND

  • Awesome song. I love the feel of this album.

  • lip balm on watery clay

    relationships hey hey hey....

  • you can feel the depression of malkmus in this whole album(twilight terror) clearly unhappy.

  • the way you dance some time

    kids like wine

    magic christians chew their rhyme

  • yeah!!!

  • lol

  • all of its good man, obviously not as raw but good

  • Comment removed

  • what? the truth hurts?

  • man, i love this video! easily one of my top three pavement songs.

and stephen malkmus is just so adorable right here.

  • these guys are such dorks :)

  • for some reason i imagine hearing this song in a bar

  • yea i pictured this song in a bar too

  • i agree with you. i was too young to see pavement tho... i wish i could of tho that would be amazing [2]

  • marriage?

  • Grazie.

  • Such great memories...

  • this was my favourite time for music, these and Sebadoh were just perfect. (and Dinosaur Jr i suppose)
