It was friendly sparring session - MT vs. WCH, therefore the clinch. Clinch is one of the strongest weapons in MT so it is VERY practical to know how to defend against it... ;o)

There is no Wing Chun Clinch, the closest thing would be the second move in the first set of the Wooden Dummy. There is however a few things you can use to deal with a Muay Thai clinch. Refer to the Chum Kiu. The Last set of Chum kiu deals with blocking those knee strikes while clinched and the upper cuts and tan sau fat sau combos can help open up the center for attacks.

Clinching in Wing Chun is not practical. You give up the use of your limbs while facing your opponent. OVER COMMITMENT
