  • My grandparents and there parents owned and ran the royal oak for a very long time, and my mother was born there and grew up in that pub. The geraghty's. I looked online at the 1911 census and my great grandfather was there then with his family and five staff. Sad to see it was knocked down!! Really like this video..

  • My nan lived in the watery lanes when Finglas was the countryside! She is still living in Finglas now... reckon she might be one of the oldest originally from finglas people!

Some days, still more or less the same, just different people!

  • i live there :P

  • brings back some great memories, i have some silar photos and more. i'm there from 1958

  • Many thanks for the post. Finglas man in Bahrain. Did you ever bring your jamjars to the "Cas" or spend a wild day down the 'Canyon". Would like to know your 'era'. Paddy

  • brilliant vid not from there but know very well

  • Wats da name of that song?

  • I think the river photo was what we called " The Sweeps," and on the other side of the road was " The Silver Spoon." Most of the kids spent alot of summers swimming in the Sweeps and fishing at the Silver Spoon. All that was required was a jam jar, a fishing net on a stick and prairie sandwiches (just plain bread and butter). Simple times...
