But if you think about it, the joker in "Under the red hood" has the personality you would expect. If you think about it, sure, he cracks some morbid jokes, but he's not entirely insane, and has a calculating side to him, like when he killed everyone in the room with nothing but an improvised weapon and a gun he took of of someone he killed with the improvised weapon.

Not gonna lie, Mark Hamil is great for a kids joker, but if you want something darker? Ledger or DiMaggio.

But even then, I mean the Mark Hammil version was made for little kids (and I mean no dissrespect to Hammil when I say this), so noone can really "die" on screen, so maybe that gimp hurt him a little.

But every other version of joker just makes him look like a miscreant as opposed to the calculating maniac that he is.

I was referring to the voice. Just when he talks, it has an underlying sinister tone that Mark Hamill doesn't have. I'm not attempting to detract from Hamill's acting at all (I liked it, personally), but it's just when DiMaggio speaks. At first, it sounds smooth, but with an underlying tone of "I'm going to stab you to death. Slowly".

For a better idea of what I'm talking about, watch any movie with Hannibal Lector in it.

And yes, I did see Batman Beyond. Not quite sure

It's that smooth, oily voice DiMaggio has. Hamill's Joker is much less intimidating and more crazy, when DiMaggio gives off this creepy, insane vibe.
