we started a music movement to get underground bands noticed and keep people updated with good new music....so please subscribe to my channel.....Believe me you'll be impressed!! all the bands are extremely talented and i need subscribers to keep the movement running!!!! so what do you have to lose?
@Baloonsnufsaid You don't have to have been born then to appreciate the music of that time. Just have to become familiar with it. That's one of the good things about youtube. I think it opens up that music to a lot of young people who otherwise wouldn't know about it. I was born in '58 and have discovered music from 60s and 70s I wasn't aware of until recently.
Jim also said about six months prior to his death when he learned of Hendrix and Joplin dying, that the people with him were sitting with #3. From Light My Fire.
Morrison would die 2 years to the day from Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones, and both were 27 when they died. Brian on July 3rd 1969 and Morrison on July 3rd 1971.Also Jimi Hendrix would die in Sept. 18th 1970 at age 27 and like 2 weeks later Janis Joplin would die on Oct. 4 also at age 27. Kurt Cobain would also die at 27 in 1994.
@undergroundbasement Yes correct. All of those great musicians checked out at 27 years old. But please People of the Earth!!! Stop including Kurt Cobain with the rest of the REAL musical icons who played Good Music!
Yes Cobain was talented, but his energy was a downer. Plus he blew his own head off. Aww, what a poor, spoiled, rich & famous quitter!
@icanpeeyee yeah, I thought about not adding Cobain in my earlier post because he came around in a later generation compared to the rock stars that were famous during the late 60's. Morrison inspired a lot of good rock singers that came after him, Hendrix considered by many to be the best rock guitarist of his time, and even still, inspired many good rock guitarists after him, Joplin inspired many women in rock after her, ...for Cobain...?... his mark of inspiration is questionable.
@undergroundbasement people just sort of gave up after cobain died, but there are a few folks inspired by him, but the doors were monumental to the growth of rock as a whole, along with the velvet underground and the majority of bands that were out in that era
"Hopefully it will be over in time for me to do a european tour", yea it wasn't over until my state finally decided to pardon Jim a few weeks ago. Even though some uneducated dickheads still think "this is madness, this is a wrong message for out society." MY society for the most part knows nothing, or doesn't give two balls about The doors. I would like to say "Jim is sending a bad message? What about Wayne, Mane, Kanye, Gaga" and all that other soulless bullshit noise kids obsess over.
@Aic1944 nobody cares about your state and you are aggressively ignorant! im sorry you just offend me with such strong statements with no facts..who are you to say someone has no soul!
@ryansdawgs30 Im ignorant? Well, you my friend are very naive. When I say "soulless" im not saying they physically/spiritually have no soul. Lady Gaga said "I make soulless electronic pop." She admitted her MUSIC has no "soul" in it. No real meaningful lyrics and mezmorizing music, just mainstream crap. Theres a fact. Now I look at the rest of the mainstream who is following their "scene" that is making them millions, and would assume the same with their "music" as well, considering the content
@ryansdawgs30 in the lyrics and the digitalized beats. If I offended you im sorry, but im just stating the obvious. Anyone who listens to The Doors or any other band that actually creates beautiful lyrics/music with their creativne minds realizes all of the mainstream rap/pop/rock is to make the millions of dollars that it brings in. They sign the damn contract and are not in charge. The producers are. Why do you think there are so many "artists" that sound exactly alike and do nothing unique?
@Aic1944 don't be stupid classic and jazz lovers at the time were reacting against the doors the same way you do today with gaga. I don't like gaga but music evolves thank god for that. it would be kind of boring if artists sounded all the same.
@kahlan4182 The Doors were influenced by jazz/blues/classical music, those elements are incorporated within their music. Different artists/musicians reacted in different ways. Music does evolve, and I enjoy living in a time where it does. Fact remains, Gaga is NOT unique/original. Sounding the same? I truly, honestly, cannot tell the difference between Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Kate Perry, Britney Spears, Kesha. They all represent the same soulless "music" that the mainstream are biting at. It's for $
Hey I am sure Morrison was stressed and frazzled. Not showing it doesnt' mean it isn't there. Never got to see the Doors. Planned to. Was living in Massachusetts back then. They were scheduled to play Boston. Planned to get tickets IMMEDIATELY (when they came on sale) BUT as the powers that be would have it, Doors played New Haven Conn before Mass. They were banned in Massachusetts. Hell everything gets banned in Massachusetts back then.
He's so calm. So at ease. How nice it must be to be so peaceful rather than all stressed and frazzled with daily problems and issues. I'd join Jim's army.
He's not dead! He's drinking Bud and devouring chilli dogs at the East Side Club! He smiling at every lost soul and buying all the rounds. He has a hundred dollar bill in his boot and he's passing out cigarettes to all the folks in the pool hall. He is alive I just saw him at 8:30.
artist freedom of expression - is all well and good - except he is in a public place and there are "LAWS" which all must follow in society -artist or not - whipping out your dick in front of 6 thousand people is very rude and not tolerated by civilized humans - Besides he did not place a disclaimer on the tickets before the show to warn people that they may be offended by the performance - Guilty as charged -
Guess what. Public nudity = unjust law. It's all a corporate plot to get you and me to buy clothes made by starving kids in China, man. Open your fucking eyes, asshole. Lol, really, though, it's artistic expression, and "obscene" is completely subjective. A subjective concept is NOT a solid foundation for the enforcement of a law. AKA, it doesn't matter what the case turned out to be, Jim did nothing wrong. Long live the Lizard King!!! Peace.
it saddens me that he died so young :(, i wish i coud go back in time and run up to him and be like, DONT GO TO PARIS AND PLEASE STOP DRINKING YOU'RE GUNNU DIE IF YOU DONT, THat europe thing depresses me, he obviously wanted to perform ages :(, RIP Legend
Check: "Rear Admiral G.S. Morrison, the attack of the U.S.S. Liberty"

A freaking loss of a "true rock legend"...he died too young...this guy (along with the rest of "The Door's band members) set the standard for present-day rock...no doubt about it!!!
i kinda wished they would have takin jim to jail for like 5-10 years dont get my wrong i love jim and the doors but if u think about he could have made music from jail and he could have been still alive today and i mean MIGHT who knows! May be Lizard King R.I.P
@madhavendraxxx well, I still could have had some incredible experiences in the seventies in my teen years and met some of these true musicians.......
shittest music ever.. i bet there is good bands these days but because they dont talk about bling or how many cocks they can fit in there mouth at once they dont get any attention
@monka80able You actually would have to have been born in the 40s to appreciate the 60s. Otherwise you would've just been a 60s baby with no real recollection of the times!! It's like a kid born in 1992 talkin' about the 90s ya kno? lol
One of my favorite Jim stories is from his bio 'No one Gets out Alive'. Apparently Jim completely blitzed in his Paris apartment. I think he was on the 2nd story and fell off the balconey onto the roof of a car outside.Everyone though he might be dead or injured badly and ran to the balcony.Jim rolled off the car, fell on the street, and headed to a bar for more drinking...
Amazing, isn't it? The difference between this generation and the youth of the late 60's. At least in some places. Now look at the performers that are labeled "shocking"! You know, uh for example artists who mutilate their bodies on stage and what have you. Etc etc etc. Interesting to think where things will evolve next. You know?
@AlgernonBand I hate to sound like some old geezer but I grew up in late 60s/70s and before 'Music Videos/MT' bands/artists were judged on their songs (mostly on radio or album) After MTV everyone had to be frickin pretty with nice hair and a cucumber in their pants. Videos really ruined music.Look at all the corporate crap Disney former mousketeers put out, myley cyrus etc. This is serious crap folks. There are a few bands out there but it ain't the same.
@rleary1 Oh, listen to mainstream crap radio and almost everysong has that crappy 'autotune' machine altering their voice and correcting their pitch.I think I heard a song by Cher first (do you believe in love?) with that 'keyboardy' voice sound and now bands like 'The black-eyed Shit' use it. It's so phony and obnoxious. I even heard it on the remake of 'We are the World'. Which sucks.
Very good point! I feel you are a little aggressive in your response but rightly so friend! Music is not based on, well the music or lyrics anymore. The concept of emotions and complex thoughts being shared through sound and words no longer stands in the industry but the concepts of selling images prevail
(Ex. Kanye Wests largest contributions to music is that he taught upper middle class white boys how to dress). Sell me an image so I know how to dress, thank you Kanye West for being my lorax! I am merely a tree eagerly sucking in your water, wisdom and talent. Please speak for me!!
The music industry sells brands not bands anymore, I completely agree. Pepsi or Coke" fall out Boy or Panic at the disco....so on and so forth
But allow me to further explain my original comment. What I apparently failed to state was that because Morrison's act of revealing himself was shocking others sought out to receive similar reactions (many years later of course, like the mutilation gimics I mentioned above)
but his actions had other meaning behind it other that merely going for the shock response that performers (I refuse to call any mainstream folk musicians!) of today have so arrogantly and ignorantly based their music (or other art) on.
Stop wrapping my art and labeling them as singles, what happened to the concept album! What happened to actually writing your own material and learning your instrument!
But remember people hear what they see. Now get over here and listen to my new single..I sure could use that new wool coat but I'll be sure to shave ya when it's warm outside.
@AlgernonBand Thanks, I'm aggresive because I was a guitarist on the road for years and got to witness 'Disco', 'Music Videos', & 'D.J's' come into being. Probably why I've still never seen a 'Reality Show'. Not one.
@AlgernonBand On a positive side I have 3 young children and two of my sons play and are severely talented naturally. It's funny because they all prefer music that is years old and can feret out the crap. My 15 yr. old likes The Ventures, The Shadows, Johnny Cash, Buck Owens, Jeff Beck, Talking Heads & Jimi Hendrix mostly. Talk about a wide area of taste there! My daugher is slightly more comercial and prefers Three dog Night and America because she like good harmony vocals.
@rleary1 ill tell you what is weird to me is that i am 21 years old and i prefer ,jimi, janis,dr hook, ccr, temptaions, etta james, jerry lee lewis, chuck berry, three dog night, eagles, cat stevens,i can go on forever but the doors are my fav.whats so weird to me is that just because i am so young people are like u dont even know who those people are but i grew up on that stuff to me this is what real music is
@steviegolden88 I'm 17 and love the Doors and Jimi Hendrix...Everyone at my school was like: Who? It killed me to know that they didn't even hear about these people...
I thank Wayne's World for getting me into Jimi Hendrix, and my mom of course who was my age during the 70's...If you're not exposed at this kind of stuff when you're young, it's hard to be enlightened with it later in life.
he was accused of exposing himself. he had seen this play, the title escapes me, where the performers remove their cloths. that's why he is talking about artistic freedom. check out the biography " no one gets out of here alive"
he was so cool--from what I've seen of interviews with rock figures of the time, he's the coolest in my opinion. him and neil young are probly my favourite 2 of that era.
hahahahaha such feeble minded people if theyre shit wh is the film about them why is jim a internationally known icon an the song light my fire is covered by more than 20 artists so you know youre wrong im right youre a twat im not
Morrison looks and sounds bored out of his fucking mind. He really tested the boundaries in his earlier career, but he seems to have moved on to such an extent after the Miami incident, he is unrecognisable both in his outlook towards life, and physically. The bands live performances peaked pre-Miami, although from then on it was generally downhill in terms of premium quality live performances. Still, the studio recordings were, and are still up there, LA Woman, is a good example.
He had a I.Q of a 150.....yet he died in a very stupid way.

You know?
AlgernonBand 1 year ago 3
@AlgernonBand I hate to sound like some old geezer but I grew up in late 60s/70s and before 'Music Videos/MT' bands/artists were judged on their songs (mostly on radio or album) After MTV everyone had to be frickin pretty with nice hair and a cucumber in their pants. Videos really ruined music.Look at all the corporate crap Disney former mousketeers put out, myley cyrus etc. This is serious crap folks. There are a few bands out there but it ain't the same.
rleary1 1 year ago

AlgernonBand 1 year ago
AlgernonBand 1 year ago
But allow me to further explain my original comment. What I apparently failed to state was that because Morrison's act of revealing himself was shocking others sought out to receive similar reactions (many years later of course, like the mutilation gimics I mentioned above)
AlgernonBand 1 year ago
but his actions had other meaning behind it other that merely going for the shock response that performers (I refuse to call any mainstream folk musicians!) of today have so arrogantly and ignorantly based their music (or other art) on.
AlgernonBand 1 year ago
And of course there's the aspect of art as just entertainment.
Either way, regardless the motives. purpose, or meaning behind art/ music artists have to stand up and say fuck you to the industry!
AlgernonBand 1 year ago
Stop wrapping my art and labeling them as singles, what happened to the concept album! What happened to actually writing your own material and learning your instrument!
But remember people hear what they see. Now get over here and listen to my new single..I sure could use that new wool coat but I'll be sure to shave ya when it's warm outside.
AlgernonBand 1 year ago

My daugher is slightly more comercial and prefers Three dog Night and America because she like good harmony vocals.
rleary1 1 year ago
@rleary1 ill tell you what is weird to me is that i am 21 years old and i prefer ,jimi, janis,dr hook, ccr, temptaions, etta james, jerry lee lewis, chuck berry, three dog night, eagles, cat stevens,i can go on forever but the doors are my fav.whats so weird to me is that just because i am so young people are like u dont even know who those people are but i grew up on that stuff to me this is what real music is
steviegolden88 1 year ago
@steviegolden88 I'm 17 and love the Doors and Jimi Hendrix...Everyone at my school was like: Who? It killed me to know that they didn't even hear about these people...
I thank Wayne's World for getting me into Jimi Hendrix, and my mom of course who was my age during the 70's...If you're not exposed at this kind of stuff when you're young, it's hard to be enlightened with it later in life.

was this trial abut drug usage? what did he get caught on?
eladbari 2 years ago
he was accused of exposing himself. he had seen this play, the title escapes me, where the performers remove their cloths. that's why he is talking about artistic freedom. check out the biography " no one gets out of here alive"
