@GuitarRock6 Nah, I totally understand you, your English if fine Brother. My older Brother's wife grew up in Paris and my Uncle did as well.
My advice for you is buy alot of guitar tabulature books of your favorite artists, bands, albums etc. Then use the books to learn to play along with your CD's. That's how I taught myself to play. I own a ton of tab books. By doing this, you can have fun learning songs, chords, scales, solos etc. Play as often as you can too!
@Mississauga49 Hey now! Thanks very much for the kind comment. The switch is to switch the pickups. The pick near the bridge of the guitar is more trebley sounding and I use that on most of my playing cause that's what most of the guitarist that I cover use as a setting. But sometimes they'll use the front pickup which has a smoother less trebley tone. Slash uses that alot on his solos. For example, listen to his guitar tone on the little lead part at the start of Paradise City. Different tones.
What you did with that little thing, that is technique is called "Bottle Finger" right? And when you threw it away, I was like: wha!? Where did it go, haha.
@BrolySuperSaiyen Haha! Yes my friend, that's a bottleneck slide. You can hear it hitting my book shelf, didn't mean to huck it so hard ; ) Thanks for checking me out! More on the way!
