Seriously, fuck Sarah Palin, but all of that bullshit TAA is saying about how women can't work and raise kids at the same time is just that: bullshit. It implies that the sole responsibility for child-rearing falls on the mother and none of it goes to the father. Men can have careers and families at the same time and have done so for thousands of years, where's the talk about sacrifice and difficult choices for them? And "life isn't fair" fell out of vogue with women's lib.

Interesting stuff, but have to disagree with you about the "have our cake and eat it too" mentality. I think that that mentality, while potentially harmful for the reasons that you seem to reject it, can also be a good thing. That kind of thinking motivates the attempt to stretch the social constraints we have placed on us. Maybe I (a man) will work from home and raise a kid. There, I found a potential solution to that dilemma already!

I know that's patronizing but I can't help it, they have facial expressions like puppies. I know they can be high functioning and active and valuable members of society, but they are cute!

He told the AMAZED NPR host that Palin basically got it right.
