  • One of my favorites... Makes me cry :'(

  • ripped off from zhang yus train main theme

  • I never thought I'd be moved by a JRPG (my fav genre) after Shadow Hearts...

    I was wrong.

  • Really, the bit I don't like about this song is the electric guitars jumping out of the bush. But you know, I still appreciate it for being a ballsy move.

  • This game...never experienced anything like it

  • because of the comercial fail of this game and blue dragon the next game of hironobu will probably be is last game the name of the game is the last story

  • @samvideogamemanpro he was asking for it with a jrpg on the xbox exclusively

  • @soysoy98 yes he should do this game on wii is the best console for the jrpg

  • @samvideogamemanpro

I have a 360, a PS3, and a Wii so as long as he makes games for any of the major consoles, I'm fine with whichever one. Not sure the wii is the best choice as NoA has issues bringing core games over to the US. He probably chose the system for The Last Story though because Nintendo was willing to fund it. Anyway, it was titled that way because he treated the development of the game AS IF it were going to be his last project. Doesn't mean it is though.

  • One of the melodies I'll always remember from this generation.

  • ...The guitar rift sounds a bit like the main theme from Crystal Chronicles for the gamecube. Not the same composer, is it? either way it's awesome

  • i'm crying so touched.. i could feel what kaim feel.. being alone for thousaands of years and see people leave him. aga

    in and again..

  • i didnt even know the second bit of this theme existed until i left it on today haha I was like WUT!!!

  • I wouldve jizzed if Yoko Kanno composed the soundtrack for this game.

  • I read Uematsu was inspired by Paul Simon, and I feel this song is heavily influenced by the song 'Duncan' by Paul Simon, has the same nice feel to it

  • 2 people ended their journey.

  • 1:39 awesome , sound like a Mike Oldfield guitar solo

  • great music!.....Nobuo Uematsu is the best!!!......Hironobu Sakaguchi & Nobuo Uematsu are the best of the best

  • @DarkCloudStrife87 Add Yoshitaka Amano for the perfect trio. ;)

  • beautifull just beautifull

  • best rpg best music

  • Gongora disliked this video.

  • Best rpg this generation. A TRUE piece of japanese art not just a over rated brand name which will remain unnamed thats great days have long since passed.

  • @Three60Crusader It hurts me how many people didn't play this game. :( I was sketchy at first, but once I started? Man...I was seriously blown away. I agree with you about the best RPG this console gen, amazing game.

  • 0 dislikes...I like!

  • 109 likes. 0 dislikes...says it all

  • I have Lost Odyssey placed after Final Fantasy XII on the game shelf. To me, it's the "true" FFXIII.

  • When that guitar riff hits, I feel the need to cross my arms and look at the sunset while wind blows through my hair.

  • A big thanks to Hironobu Sakaguchi and Nobuo Uematsu for making such an amazing game.

  • Man, this game was so dang good. I remember finding the Lost Ruins(?) and fighting and fighting forever until my team was nearly invincible.

  • @drdansir2002 Oh crap!! thats what im doing right now LOL

  • @tiomigue07 Nice.

  • I remember how excited I was when Uematsu's name popped up on the opening credits. Nearly exploded.

  • ACtually, this game is supposed to be the real FFXII. Star Ocean 4 and The Last Story are better than FFXIII.

  • I had never really payed much attention to the music in Final Fantasy. I just thought it was great. And that was just the way it was. But, in the recent games I found the music lacking. I then learned that the composer Nobuo Uematsu had left Square, thus explaining the change in music quality.

Some time later I picked up Lost Odyssey, and loved the music, and thought it sounded like what I used to expect from Final Fantasy. Lo and behold, Nobuo Uematsu wrote it.

  • i wondered why the new final fantasies sucked, now i know, the creator left square enix

  • It sickens me that FF13 got so much more recognition than this game... This game was ment to be the REAL FF13.

  • @llREBll this game was ass man

  • @superlarry54 Who the fuck are u? And which hole did u come from?!

  • @llREBll A guy played this game and got bored with the it one big sob fest. and the music is great tho lol

  • @superlarry54 Cool story bro.

  • THIS GAME IS LEVELS BEYOND FF13! HIGHLY UNDERRATED GEM!

  • God Final Fantasy misses this guy! Amazing world map song, just a shame that in the game you never really need to be on the world map long enough to hear the whole track

  • this track is awesome, its certainly andean inspired.

The instruments played are the pan flute (know in Peru and Bolivia as Quena) and small guitar (charango) those are native from this lands. It transmits the felling of like loneliness tiredness and sadness which match perfectly for the endless journey of an inmortal.

  • pan flute's getting a little annoying but still a good song

  • I remember thinking about what I should do next at the world map one day as I was playing through this game the second time. And I remember the guitars coming in. I teared up, because the emotion that had been felt in the flutes had just blown me away with the shear awesome of the lead guitars.

Seriously one of the best world map themes I've ever heard, the transfer between sadness to hopeful redemption in this song doesn't even need to be described, it's heard.

  • @adrianlm Nonsense, they make the track what it is. A progression from just a simple folk song to the full, epic sound of a truly endless journey, Trust me, Uematsu knows what he's doing ;)

  • @AnnatarYoung I agree, if the guitar was not there to add a climax to it, the song would become stale and repetitive. Just like any other form of art, music needs contrast to stay interesting. It's just how the human mind works.

  • @terran236 well said!

  • Hearing this the first couple times on my way between locations, I was reminded of FF9's world map bmg.

...But then one day I left the controller to make myself a sammich while still on the world map...

I was like "HOLY CRAP GUITAR RIFF WAT THIS IS AWESOME."

:D Seriously. Nobuo Uematsu is my hero.

  • @TheBandkanon Yeah it reminded me off FF9's world map tune toooooooooo ;)

  • @TheBandkanon

.....WOW...I wasn't sure what you were talking about because yes i too never stayed long enough on the world map for the song to get to the best part....now i miss IT!!! DAMN YOU RROD!!!!! RUIN MY GAME!!!!

  • @TheBandkanon My god same story down to the sandwich

  • @TheBandkanon lmfao legend i did the exact same XD

  • @TheBandkanon

Haha, wow. This is EXACTLY what happened to me.

"Sammich time"*nomnomnom* *Cue awesome music* O_O!!

  • @JingTheKingOfBandits Okay that settles it.

This song is GREAT sammich-making music.

Don't tell me that sammich wasn't the most epic sammich you had ever made and eaten. Because it was.

  • Remnids me of Dark Cloud. Awesome.

  • Genius of Uemetsu at work here ...

  • Awesome theme for an awesome game.

  • Wtf guitars.

  • @Roan7995 wtf flutes too O.o lol
