This song gets me so energetic whenever I hear it! I LOVE THE BEATLES so stinking much!!!!!! There music makes me do happy and emotional! Strawberry fields forever! SHOUT!
This is a terrible cover. I don't think anyone can top the Isley Brothers version. This was a terrible attempt. Just my two cents. And I know some Beatles fans might try to say I'm wrong but who fucking cares right?
this song lacks all the soul from the version the isley brothers did. its like someone sucked the energy and juice out of this version. white people cant sing like black folk ! isley brothers <3
or wait is this george singing?!?! i can't tell. it sounds like George. but at the same time i can't help but to feel that either Paul or John sang this.
this is really awesome. the beatles are the only band i know who can cover a song and still sound amazing. but to be honest i prefer the isley brothers version. but im a bealtes girl. this is a really amazing cover. i love it. who is singing? is it john? or Paul? i can't tell.
My first listen to this version... it's like they're taking baby steps here. It sounds a bit awkward. No dis to who they ultimately became, but this isn't "The Beatles" just yet. I'm so glad they stopped imitating other artists/bands (Hank Williams' "Act Naturally", the various Motown covers, "Chains" by the Cookies, etc.) and started writing their own songs.
The Beatles must have liked the Isley Brothers a lot because they based their version of "Twist and Shout" on the Isley Bros. version of that song too. If you ever heard the original "Twist and Shout"by the TopNotes, it sounded nothing like any other you've heard.
@iiFrenchFrii No, the Isley Brothers did the original, Little Richard covered it. To be fair, this song has been covered that many times, it's hard to remember who was the first x)
@iiFrenchFrii The post that has Little Richard's name was false. It is the Isley Brothers. They wrote the song and it hit in 1959. Little Richard never recorded the song.
Actually this song was written and originally recorded by the Isley Brothers (in 1959) and then a couple of years later covered by Little Richard, the Beatles and many other artists.
john...and george...this could have been a clean song. but NOOOO!!! "DONT EFFING SHOUT NOW! DON"T EFFING SHOUT NOW! BLOODY SHOUT NOW!" anybody else catch that? but the song's just soo catchy
So where's the better (oops *cough*) I mean original version? Not that I don't like the B's, cause I do, it's just that this version is cute when I much prefer the soulful version. I mean I want the song to make me shout!!
i love this song love the way john say "take it easy" i sang that part of the song all school day long, and my friends got annoyed (or how ever you spell that)
