  • Anuja, how come you constantly have a small bandage on your right forearm?

  • @emvothuong : You have probably seen and remember all the videos that I have that band-aid ;)

    I usually don't :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry hehe. I suppose I have. Thank you for clarifying, Anuja. :-)

  • Please make Aam Burfi aur Pista Burfi Ji. :) It is too tasy yaar, bahut bahut swad hai. :) I like Pista Purfi which is all green color. You can use Aam aur Pista essence also with Aam puree and fresh Pista.

  • Shabaash, very well done, bahut bahut achaa hai girls. :) Mein Punjabi hu, and I love this recipe very much. Please make Pista aur Mango Burfi. Also please make with Silver or Gold Vark too. :) Maybe you can make a double layer Burfi with Mango and Pista like this kind you made today Ji. Namustae.

  • hi,

can i just cook it on stove instead of putting it into oven?

  • ooohhhh! that looks yummy!

  • Is "Green & Black's Fairtrade Organic Cocoa Powder" suitable?

  • @krazzyrkb : I will try and answer all your questions in one comment :)

-regarding Green and Black Cocoa Powder - make a small batch so you do not ruin and waste your ingredients or your efforts. We have not tried that particular brand but it should work.

    - sweetened cocoa powder has added sugar whereas unsweetened does not :) You burfi might end up too sweet.

    -Castor sugar should be OK.

-Fresh Cream should also work, try and get full fat and not low fat.

    Hope that helps :)

  • @ShowMeTheCurry Ok thankz :)

  • Sorry, one more question:

On ur website it says Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, but u've written cocoa powder in the video, so does it matter which ever cocoa powder i use?

  • Also, Can I use Caster sugar instead of powdered sugar?

    Thankz

  • Can I use "ASDA Fresh Cream Whipping" instead of heavy whipping cream?

  • looks v eazy 2 make, i wil try 2marow!! :-)

  • hi i just wanted to knw is milk powder same as instant dry millk...im a bit confused plz help

  • @luvnforgive

Yes, the box says "Instant Non-Fat Dry Milk".

  • thank you thank you i made it on diwali.........yummy n so easy to make thank you once again luv it..keep it up.......

  • Hi...u said 5 cups of milk powder approx. 365grm........but when i measured in 3 cups it was approx. 340grm??..........so how much shuld i be taking???

  • @gtulsi : Different brands have different weights (we learnt it the hard way)! Use the cup measurement (8oz cup) and use the volume measurement.

  • Which brand of non fat dry milk did you use? I need to know exactly how many cups (US standard cup measurement) of milk powder to use.

  • Once the burfis are made and cut do they need to be stored in the refrigerator or outside? Does one have to necessarily put them into an airtight container or anything else is just fine?

  • @preetipdeshpande

They should be stored in the refrigerator but served at room temp. When we say "airtight", we mean something with a tight fitting lid so that the burfis will not dry out.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry

What should I do if the powdered sugar clumps, and stirring and microwaving isn't enough to get them to unclump?

  • @SinnFein4ever : We have never had that happen - try warming it on a low heat in a thick bottomed pan and try to remove all the lumps. Else you could try and use a hand-blender and get rid of them...

Hope you are able to salvage it.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry

Alright, I'll give it a try.

    Thanks.

  • i just wanted to know which brand of chocolate chips are available in india, and is cooking chocolate different from the cadbury bars

  • @manisahh It is different... U can find cookin chocolates in almost all d big stores...

  • By the way, I LOVE your episodes!! :)

  • Hi! im really looking forward to making this soon and was wondering about the type of consistency you get in the finished product...is it smooth like a fudge type of texture or a little grainy like some burfi's can be, either way i dont mind, just curious. Thanks!

  • @2484girly

It does have a bit of a grainy texture...not as smooth as fudge.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry

be useful information to the viewers.

  • i wud say 1st of all ..... the 2 ladies r too beautiful like chocolates......i liked the method......

  • Yummy tasty chocolate burfi. I loved making this. Can you show how to make coconut burfi please.

  • If you go to our youtube channel and search for Coconut Burfi, it's there. You can also check it out on our website:

    ShowMeTheCurry(dot)com

  • i like your spatula. and the recipe as well :)

  • Ladies , when are you going to post diffrent types of Burfi recipes? I'm very interested. Buenas Suerte'

  • We try to spread them out, we already have a few:

    Besan (chickpea flour) Burfi

    Coconut Curfi

    Pedas

Look them up. We will have more coming soon.

  • Ladies, I love the Burfi sweets! I have a question. If I were to warm the milk instead of using a microwave and also a counter top mixer(KitchenAide) to smooth the cream mixture, would that be bad? And if not I than I could use a double boiler technique to melt the chocolate.

  • We have not tried using the stove for this recipe though cannot imagine it not working. If you try it, please post your feedback. Thanks.

  • is it all right to use fresh cream coz that is what is available in India and secondly can we make this on stove instead of microwave? pls reply as I am eager to try this out. pls show how to make soanpapdi, kala jamun and petha. thanks

  • These chocolate chunks, I am assuming they are sweetened chunks...but please let me know so I can be sure. BTW, I love your peda recipe. I have made them many times for big get togethers of 60+ people and it always flies by. People eat more than 3 sometimes and there is never peda left over ;) I get a lot of credit for it and they all assume I have been working extremely hard in the kitchen to make them...lets just not tell them how quick and easy they are :))))

  • burfi was my favorite sweet to eat as a kid. i'm not a laddo kind of girl, haha. i'm excited to try this out on my own BUT i don't have a microwave. i'll probably have to do it on the stove. thanks for the recipe!

  • Hey, I made the chocolate burfi on the cooker today, but i don't think it came out very good, mine was not as runny as yours is in the video, it was thick. I was wondering what i did wrong???

    Thanks X

  • Thanks!

  • Wow looks good, I think i am going to make this I will let you know how it turns out! Thanks for the video :D

  • Mine didn't turn out good at all. It tasted as i am eating milk powder. not at all close to chocolate burfi.

  • I made this today and i'm eating it right now!!!! It's soooo good, thank you! Happy Diwali and Happy New Year!!

  • Hi this looks wonderful and I want to try it, but I am vegan. However, I picked up some dry coconut milk powder at the Indian grocery. Is it possible to replace the coconut milk powder for the nonfat dry milk powder? Thanks!

  • dont really like it.. :( I mean I love chocolate but I rather search for something more tasteful.

  • wow.. awesome.. i'll definitely try it out.. didn't know it was so easy to make at home.. :)

  • awesome recipe.. will try for sure. please post more easy recipes for sweets!

  • You gals should sample the food once it's done. On food programmes the product always looks more appealing (tastier) if someone is enjoying eating it at the end as well as just saying it looks tasty and remember all great cooks taste their own food.

  • Food for thought...will keep it in mind!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • can i make it on a stove top.. or does ti have to be in a

  • We love the fact that this is a quick and easy recipe and gets done so fast in the microwave. However, if you want to make it on the stove-top, follow the same steps and cook in a heavy bottomed pan on low-med. heat stirring continuously (high tendency of burning). The mixture needs to come to a boil and we think that should work.

Again, we have never made it on the stove, but if you do, wed love to hear your experience.

  • it luks so delicious ...thanks for the share :D I'm going to try it soon. Keep up the great work ladies!!!

  • i'm not indian but i like the indian culture and i'm reading a book called the twentieth wife and i'm happy cuz i knew what burfi was! plus that looks really good.

  • I LOVE you guys!!! I LOVE chocolate burfi but I never knew how to make it...i ate it whenever my mom made it :) now I can make it!! THANK YOU!!

  • Oh God. I want chocolate now

  • Rich!! Rich!! And, of so delicious!! Thx for the post.

  • can i add some nuts to the mixture such pistachios ?

  • Yes, you can! Add in the dry fruits right at the end.

  • do v need to freeze or wat?

  • you put it in the regular fridge and let it set for a coupl of hours

  • No freezing necessary. Just refrigerate to set.

  • I have one question though...do I need to freeze it before cutting?

  • No freezing necessary...just keep it in the refrigerator to set.

  • Love you guys...this is so simple and yammy...this is perfect re-definations of Indian food.
