In addition to the Chess Bros creation of the label and the shit they had to endure for doing something that brought blues music into the mainstream (white audiences - which is what the artists' Really wanted), I thought the guy who played Wolf was nothing like him. Wolf was Larger than Life and had Tons of Fun onstage. In the movie he was just uptight, sullen and sleazy. There was no sense of the Period, it was 'updated'.

@frizzguitar @frizzguitar Beyonce might be able to sing songs like "At Last", but she doesn't have Etta's ability to be able to sing those great ballads one second, then turn around and sing the most low-down, gut bucket blues you ever heard the next. Etta could turn around and sing a Howlin' Wolf song like "Smokestack Lightnin'" or "Evil" with no problem. No way in hell would Beyonce be able to do that. Take a look at Etta singing "Baby What You Want Me To Do" and you'll see what I mean.
