Company was shut down.

Snailgames(company behind the upcoming sandbox title, Age of Wulin) bought the game project and basically entirely redid the entire game, only keeping the concepts and ideas the previous game would have had.

Obviously none of the commenters played the original dark and light. I was one of the Suckers of Ganareth, and the thought of anyone getting excited about the return of these steamy POS is like getting excited about the return of the Black Plague. Dark and light also featured (five years ago) incredible ingame publicity videos that turned out to be phony. The real game featured monsters that looked like out of the Atari, no quests, buildings like a children lego blocks (totally solid inside)..

I'm very skeptical. DnL's best feature was VWorld and the awesome weather simulation (literally watching storm clouds roll in when standing on a mountaintop, then move on into the distance...so real!)

I'm also very concerned about this being an asian MMO, because that may mean "cash shop" and we all know what that means! I've had bad experiences with asian MMOs being very shallow, a little too anime, and too expensive.

if SnailGame have delivered on the original Farlan/NPCube feature promises as well as adding a playable game, then I'm definitely wanting to check this one out ASAP! Dark and Light's VWorld engine was amazing, just a shame the NPCube devs made such a hash of the rest of it.

Oh God not another Asian developer who's not going to manage their game. For 6 years I've had nothing but bad luck with Chinese developers, snail being one of the biggest.

Curiouser and curiouser. If this is really a new DnL rising from the ashes, I would be willing to give it a try.

Despite all of the bugs, and problems of the original, it still offered features you just have never been able to duplicate.
