@ladygirl217 in the books Crystal is an werepanther from a near by town called Hotshot. Everyone in the town is related and are werepanthers. Crystal ends up with Jason. I could tell you more but it might be to much of a spoiler. I highly recommend you read the books they are a great read and as Alan Ball has not followed the books completely you get a different feel for the characters especially Eric and Bill and the storyline is similar but different enough to keep you guessing.

I have heard that charaine has been contracted for 13 books so we should be seeing another 3 in the series. YAY!!!!!!!!! :-)

@vipmodelss Werewolves have been people who shift into wolves and humanoid wolves long before Twatlight came about, and in the novels TB is based on, they shift into actual wolves, so it's doubtful they'll change it. I'm quite happy they're using real wolves and wolf hybrids instead of crap CGI wolves, to be honest. Having them change into cgi/animatronic wolf-men would look a little too ridiculous. I'd be laughing every time they were on screen, and weres aren't supposed to inspire laughter.

As for your belief that werewolves are real and they only transform into wolf-men... good for you, but I believe that if they are real, they'd be able to take on both forms, so I still see no problem with using real wolves and wolf hybrids. Again, they take on the form of wolves in the books, so they take on the form of wolves in the show.
