A wet vacuum cleaner to the drain is a very quick fix; just make sure to have it on "suck" mode instead of "blow" (my dad just made that mistake and ended up with drain goop exploding all over him and the bathroom walls!)
I did all this and it is still not draining. Could the clog be further back? My plumbing underneath looks more like an S than a P trap. It comes out of the wall then goes up before turning back down into the P trap. I can remove the PVC P-trap as you show but the linkage beyond this towards the wall are not hand nuts. Any suggestions?
Thanks for the nice video. A channel lock pliers is sometimes used to tighten and loosen the P Trap . Please check after you reassembly for any leaks. I recommend putting a small pan under it and checking it twice daily for a couple of days as DIY many times will leak (not tight enough nuts) and require either tightening the nuts. Don't forget as a neglected leak can be damaging to your cabinets.
Thanks for this. It's not rocket science, but I'm not very handy and this video was a nice sanity check before I began.

I would suggest buying a "snake" at a home improvement center and try fishing it in the drain pipe to remove any clogs.

Thanks for the great video! Just cleaning off the plunger made my sink usable again- I also had the toupee hanging from the plunger.

don't you have to turn the water off first ?
HughWalenski 1 year ago
No, not unless you plan on turning the faucet handles on while you disconnect the drain pipe.

@HughWalenski he didn't have to turn off water because he was working on the drain pipe not the water supply pipe.

Guys help, what if i did this and it STILL doesn't work?
armil365riza 2 years ago 4
@armil365riza Maybe it was installed with the wrong slope. also you can adjust the drain stop so its open more to allow it to drain better.
