  • @Buddhastrike... Nice work sir, it's effective.. :D

Sarung indeed can be use as weapon. It's one of the weapon in Silat MA. During the Dutch rule in Indonesia, Silat was banned and the practitioners were forced to train in secret and leave their weapon at home. They eventually found a "safe" weapon in the form of sarung. They carried it around as protection against mosquitoes and night breeze - so they told to the Dutch :).

Until now, Sarung is part of Pencak Silat traditional attire.

  • @salahakan Thx U 4 the background intormation to the Sarong. I have trained with the Rope, belt, towel. flexible whip and handkerchief which is what I based my Sarong applications on !!! I appreciate Pentjak Silat and ALL martial arts but let me be CLEAR- I did not learn my technique from any Pentjak Silat Masters !!! What I have learned has come from my training here in America !!! Good technique is universal and can be applied by those who have understanding and can combine martial arts skills

  • @buddhastrike

Dear sir.. I didn't mean to offend you and I'm sorry if you misunderstand my comment. I DIDN'T SAY you learned the technique from Pencak Silat... I agree that it's a universal technique and I am aware that you learn yours through your own experience.. I'm just trying to share a little info about sarung since you use sarung in this video, that's all.

  • @salahakan I didn't mean any petulance or "Ill will" to U and I am not putting anyone down !!! I apologize if I came off like that !!! If I had the chance 2 train with any Pencak Silat Masters or Kali Masters (or any great Martial System that catches my interest) I'll be the 1st to jump on "the band wagon" !!!! And I definitely LOVED the history lesson U shared on the Sarong !!!! Because I didn't know that part of it's (The Sarong) history !!! Be well & take care !!! Namaste !!! :D !!!!

  • No problem Sensei. If I may ask, what primary art(s) do you train in? i believe you mentioned it in one of your other videos where the gentleman that is acting as your shte in this video was the interviewer. I would like to know so that I may find similar schools of teaching in the greater Detroit area.

  • @RECON4NOW Oss !! I will send a message to your inbox !!!

  • Sensei you make these techniques look so easy and you do them smoothly. I wish I had the opportunity to train with you because you have some good ideas.
