IF I VE SAID IT ONCE ILL SAY IT AGAIN THE GODFATHER WAS SIMPLY THE GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME WHATS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE IS THAT HE CONTINUED TO PERFORM AT A HIGH LEVEL WELL PAST HIS 50"S AND ACTUALLY KEPT GOING INTO HIS 70"S UP UNTIL HE LEFT US!!! NO ENTERTAINER CAN TOP WHAT THE GODFATHER DID!!!!!!!!!!!
check out Bootzy Collins and his brotha Catfish Collins. Bootsy was like 18 r 19 yrs old. i think this was JB's best line-up, Starks, Clyde, Cheese, Byrd, Fred, St.Clair, and maybe Kush. i bought the DVD and then bought the dwnloaded, for my Ipod.
Yes, I would say that's Tiger Martin there, and obviously the other drummer is "Jab" - John Starks, as you said in your first post. I'll send you another vid...
Ike you are the man! Thank you so much for helping to keep "The Original Icon " Mr. James Brown's Legend Alive! He truly was a musical genius! Ike you deserve a Blazing High Five! Peace!!
I am using my brothers account. I was actually born this year and this is the type of music I like over everything that I have heard in my life. James Brown and Led Zeppelin for life.
Nothng like watchin' the king doin' his thing and humping the air ,for some reason... One of the Greatest showmans there will ever be. Thanks for the vid man.
@shujikotaro Yeah, but those 1,581 people are hardcore. The millions who watch clips of tortoises attacking cats are nothing. Wide and shallow. This is deep.
That one leg move at 0:40 is inhuman! Not too big a fan of the 'Sex Machine' arrangement from this time. It's very good, but I prefer it from other years.
Dancer,Singer,Rapper,Bandleader The HAAAARDEST- WORKING MAN IN SHOW Business. Notice how he always called the names of his band members during his performance so they could shine ★★★★★
Damn... right about the 6:00 mark Catfish really breaks out with some seriously bad ass shit . And then just hangs on and don't let loose. Beautiful. Bye Catfish...
I bought James Brown's "Love Power Peace - Live At The Olympia" cd both because I love a lot of his songs, and because the concert took place in the city (Paris) and year ('71) I was born. Clearly one of soul's all-time greats. How cool must it have been to be in attendance at those shows...
I just read that Phelps Collins died this past August in Cincinnati. He was a hell of a guitarist as you can year on this song. I'm sure Bootsy misses his Big Brother.
This is to Godamn Beautiful we got The MIGHTY dope Hype Man Bobby Byrd and the MIGHTY James Brown with the JB"s on stage Rockin' Out givin' you that Soul+Funk that you need in your life real GOOD music that todays music industry will never TOUCHHHHHHHHH!
LOVE THIS!!! Thank you!!

I hope that one day, Polygram will issue this entire concert in full...several songs such as this one were omitted from the LOVE, POWER, PEACE CD.

so apparently this guy trained his band to play music so that he never stops dancing.
Greatest performance of anything and it gets less than 2000 views.
